Chapter 31 - Side Story: All For One

All For One's POV

The most recent battle with all might had ended in his defeat forcing him to retreat.

Smoke still clung to the ruined alley as All Might staggered away, barely standing—yet still radiating that damned light of his.

I watched him disappear, my body aching, my legs refusing to move.

"Tch… One For All… Yoichi… always a thorn in my side."

Even in pain, the hatred simmered quietly.

"All Might… that bastard grows stronger by the day."

I slipped into a nearby alley, let my features melt and shift.

Jet-black hair, softer jawline, harmless eyes—just another civilian.

Even then, blood trailed down my face.

"He injured me more than I expected… not since the battle with Nana Shimura and others have I felt this kind of ache."

Memories resurfaced—five years ago, her face, the regret, the rage.

Everything tangled into one unbearable knot.

I exhaled sharply.

"That brat… I should've crushed him when he was still a pebble…"

I shoved my hands into my pockets, hiding the trembling weakness in my steps.

"Damn it. I really want a beer…"

I went to the nearest convenience store.

The bell above the door chimed softly as I entered.

Cool air. Neon lights. A small escape.

I grabbed a beer case and walked to the counter.

No trouble. Not now.

I didn't need more eyes on me.

The cashier—a young woman with soft green hair—looked up.

"Hi, how may I help you?"

"…Just bill this," I said, keeping my tone calm.

"May I see your ID, sir?"

I almost clicked my tongue.

"…Do I look like a minor?"

Still, I handed over the fake ID.

As she checked it, her eyes widened.

"Ah—your head… it's bleeding!"

Before I could step away, she leaned forward with a handkerchief.

The warmth of her concern stopped me.

"…This woman… why is she acting like this?"

"Leave me alone," I muttered.

"But you look like you're in pain," she insisted gently.

Pain.

Me?

I had forgotten that feeling a long, long time ago.

I pushed her hand away.

"…Stop prying."

She lowered her gaze. "I'm sorry. But… there's a hospital right across the street. Could you please go?"

Why… why bother with me?

There was nothing in it for her.

"…I'll go," I lied.

I walked out, not toward the hospital—but toward the quiet park beside the store.

At the Park

I sat on a bench, beer in hand, staring at the sky.

"When did everything go wrong…?"

Images of my brother flashed—Yoichi smiling, reaching out, slipping away.

Kudo… he took Yoichi from me.

He took everything frome me.

Money, power, fear—none of it filled the emptiness.

Family… that was something I no longer had.

I opened the beer, took a long drink, but even that did nothing.

"This doesn't help anymore…"

I exhaled.

Maybe I'll hit a brothel. Blow off some steam. Then kill All Might.

I stood, walking toward the red-light district.

But as I passed a construction site—

CRAAASH!

Metal scaffolding collapsed toward me.

I prepared to obliterate it—

—but an invisible force shoved me sideways.

I hit the ground, breath knocked out.

"Are you alright!?" a voice cried, panting.

I looked up.

"…The woman from the store."

She ran toward me, breathless.

Her hand stretched out again—still trembling from the use of her quirk.

Telekinesis.

"Should I steal it…?"

The thought flickered instantly.

Heroes arrived moments later, shouting, inspecting the debris.

None recognized me.

Good.

After they left, she turned to me.

"Thank goodness you're okay. If I hadn't seen you…"

"…Thank you," I forced out.

It felt strange to say.

"I'm Hisashi," I added smoothly.

"Oh—I'm Inko Midoriya! W-We met earlier at the store! Hisashi-Kun" she said, smiling shyly.

Right. That's the name on my fake ID…

I cleared my throat.

"If you have time… would you like a drink with me?"

Her eyes widened.

"Ah—sorry! I should be home… my mom will worry."

…Did I just get rejected?

The first time in 150 years, a woman rejected me.

She bowed slightly.

"Next time, Hisashi-kun. You can treat me then!"

She waved and left—bright, honest, completely unaware.

I used a lie detector quirk.

She wasn't lying.

My pride stung.

No woman has ever rejected me..

My heart whispered something I refused to acknowledge.

Sooner or later… I'll have her.

At this point, it isn't even about her quirk anymore.

It's about my pride.

I started visiting that convenience store every day—wearing the face of Hisashi.

Not to pressure her.

Not to twist her feelings.

But to make her choose me on her own… to reclaim what I lost.

I talked to her casually.

Light conversations.

Small exchanges that should've meant nothing.

But somewhere along the way, everything shifted.

Because while I was trying to break into her heart…

she broke into mine.

Her warmth didn't weaken her.

It weakened me—slipping into places I didn't even knew existed.

And damn it… it worked quite well.

One day—

"Hisashi-kun, do you live around here? I see you often!" she asked with that same innocent brightness.

…Is she really this oblivious to my intentions?

"I go to a college nearby," I lied smoothly.

"Oh! How old are you? And um… why no last name? I never asked because it felt rude…"

"I'm twenty. And I'm an orphan, Midoriya-san."

Her eyes softened instantly.

"I'm sorry… I didn't mean to bring up something painful."

It was a fabricated story, yet… the concern in her expression almost made it feel real.

She brightened again.

"So I'm actually older than you," she said, smiling.

"You should call me onee-san!"

I almost smiled back.

I'm far older than you.

But for some reason… I don't want to hurt you.

Yoichi's memory burned in my chest.

"Hisashi-kun!" she suddenly perked up.

"About the treat… can we go today? My shift ends soon."

"…Yeah."

Maybe she wasn't as innocent as I thought.

We went.

We laughed.

She dragged me around playfully—using her quirk to tug my scarf, my sleeve, even my chest toward her.

"Do you have a girlfriend, Hisashi-kun?" she teased, cheeks flushed.

…Is she drunk?

"No," I answered simply.

Then—

"Let's race! If you like me… stay still!"

With a giggle, she wrapped her scarf around my neck and sprinted ahead.

Looks like she got me, I mused.

The wind felt lighter than usual.

I walked to her, took her by the waist, pulled her close—

and kissed her.

For a moment…

I wasn't a villain.

Though I hate to admit it… I'm in love.

In that moment…

I was just Hisashi.

Time passed.

Dates became the most cherished time.

Love became something deeper.

We married quietly.

I took her last name.

Hisashi Midoriya.

A name I never expected to cherish.

---

Two Years Later — The Hospital

Inko held our newborn son in trembling arms.

"Izuku… your name is Izuku, my sweet boy…"

I stepped inside, breath catching.

"Hisashi! Look… it's our son."

She handed him to me.

I took Izuku into my arms—

And for the first time since Yoichi's death…

I cried.

He looks like Yoichi…

I pulled him closer, something tight and aching twisting in my chest.

I don't want him to become like me.

I don't want him involved with heroes… villains… any of it.

I placed a hand over his small chest.

"…Sorry, Izuku."

In one breath… I removed his quirk factor.

A cruel act—

done with trembling hands.

---

One Year Later

I operated the League from the shadows.

Inko believed I had a job overseas.

She smiled.

She waited.

I sent money without fail.

Anything to keep them far away from the darkness I lived in.

---

When Izuku Turned Three

"Master, All Might destroyed another one of our bases," a subordinate reported.

Hisashi—All For One—closed his eyes.

"…I'll handle him."

My hands are too stained to ever be clean.

But if I kill All Might…

Inko and Izuku will live safely for generations.

I clenched my fists.

If I'm captured…

they'll use my family against me.

They will experiment on Izuku…

Break him.

I won't allow that.

So I designed a failsafe—

One last safety net.

I'll erase their memories…

And my own, if necessary.

---

The Final Visit

I walked into our home.

Inko turned with a warm smile.

Izuku toddled toward me, arms stretched.

"One last time…" I whispered.

I pulled them both into my arms.

"I'm sorry… Inko. Izuku…"

Light flared from my hands.

Their memories dissolved—

replaced with the belief that I left for long business trips and sent money home.

Even I wouldn't remember the truth.

---

But fate twisted.

My son… Izuku…

wasn't an ordinary soul.

His reincarnated self from another world awakened who was yet to awaken his memories—but that didn't change the fact he was still my son.

And because of the failsafe, when Izuku asked about me to inko when he's twelve—

My memories returned as well.

But I said nothing.

For their safety.

For the plan.

To kill All Might.

To return to my family.

When I touched Izuku recently—to meet him..

without him realizing—

I saw my end in his memories.

I saw a world where I died…

my appearance warped…

my body unrecognizable.

But one truth burned:

I tried to kill my own son.

With my own hands.

That realization broke me.

It shattered every delusion I held.

Maybe that was a world where Izuku and I never regained his memories.Inko didn't even realised that I died.

Maybe that was a world where he lived without me.

But in this world?

I'll change my son's fate.

I won't let him be the kid who killed his father.

I won't let Izuku carry that stain.

I won't let my son become a murderer.

This—

all of this—

is All Might's fault.

He dragged Izuku into the hero world.

So I'll kill him.

And I'll save Izuku.

PS (Author note):

This was the final push—the moment All For One made his decision.

The vision of his own hands killing Izuku…

the fear of his son becoming a murderer…

the bitterness toward All Might for dragging Izuku into the hero world—

All of it converged into one resolve:

He would kidnap Izuku, remove his quirk again, and drag him out of the hero world by force if he had to.

This scene takes place days before Izuku is abducted by Kurohane Rika in Tokyo while he is patrolling, the catalyst that sets everything into motion.
