"I must thank the robots that attacked me during marching practice last time. If they hadn't chased me all the way from the open area behind the cafeteria to the Classroom 5-2, I wouldn't have discovered that blue energy card behind the classroom either."
"The energy card was right. Only someone as capable as me deserves to possess such a powerful energy card. It also said that as long as I guarded this card well, I wouldn't need to practice day and night like everyone else. It would give me a powerful team, allowing me to win the championship in the marching competition."
"I'm not lazy; I'm just better at using my brain than others..."
"When you get a way to reach the top in one step, would you still choose to climb step by step?" Wei Syuen laughed maniacally.
He took a blue card from his pocket, threw it upwards with force, then raised the flag in his hand and shouted, "Energy Card, please grant me power!"
This time, the blue card thrown into the air was burning with blue sparks.
"I admire your proud and lazy attitude. I shall grant you power accordingly."
It was the same terrifying, heavy voice I heard last time.
The flag in Wei Syuen's hand changed form, transforming into a long spear. The spear had a slender orange-red shaft, connected at the top to a willow-leaf-shaped spearhead. An orange-red glow enveloped the entire spearhead, which seemed to be burning with raging flames.
After the blue card was sucked into Wei Syuen's pocket, he charged at us rapidly. Xin Hui and Zi Qian seemed to have planned it, jumping to dodge together, leaving me the only one still standing in place. I swung my sword to block several straight thrusts from Wei Syuen, then he sidestepped and pointed the spearhead at the grass to my right.
I guessed Wei Syuen was about to use the spear technique of an upward slash—using great force to sweep the weapon from the lower right to the upper left—so I retreated several steps first. He leaped into the air, and sure enough, the long spear thrust towards my upper left. I dodged his spear, but didn't anticipate its effective attack range was so wide. My right arm was lightly grazed by an orange-red light.
Xin Hui and Zi Qian launched attacks from both sides of Wei Syuen. After several consecutive strikes, Xin Hui unleashed a Whirlwind. Then Zi Qian rushed forward and delivered several quick slashes to Wei Syuen, sending him flying a distance. Before Wei Syuen could steady himself, I immediately followed up with a few sword strikes, then hit him with a Spinning Slash.
This time, Wei Syuen was sent flying even farther.
"Damn it!" he roared in anger.
"This guy is really weak. We only hit him a few times, and his health bar has already turned orange, almost red," I said, pointing at the health bar above Wei Syuen's head, which was now only half full.
"Even though I was only hit by him twice, my health bar is already red," Zi Qian said, taking a sip of a sports drink. "Aren't you having one? I saw you got hit quite a few times too."
