Chapter 42 - The cultural gala (1)

On the way to the activity room, Zi Qian kept nagging: "You were too impulsive. I know your level is high, your attack power is strong, and your HP is higher than average, but do you know how risky that action was just now? What if..."

I have to admit there's a big difference in personality between Zi Qian and me. He's proactive, serious, and plans things out; I tend to be spontaneous and go with my mood. Whether it was because we defeated Wei Syuen together or because of the mockery from Ming Juin and the others, the tension between Zi Qian and me had lessened.

"Hello! I'm Team Leader Lan from the Prefect Corps. I've received a lost property notice from the Cultural Gala Organizing Committee. It states that the Secretary of the Cultural Gala Organizing Committee—Xin Qin—has lost something. Can you go and help look for it?"

Arriving at the activity room, we got the commission letter from the NPC Team Leader Lan standing near the back door.

The letter didn't specify the client's class. The content only said:

I, Tang Xin Qin, lost a white bag in the West Zone of the school. It contains a metronome and a music score. If found, please contact me immediately. Thank you!

"Two days ago, a fire broke out during the Cultural Gala performance rehearsal by the Drama Club in the auditorium. Secretary Xin Qin probably lost her things at that time. I believe this fire is definitely connected to the robots," Team Leader Lan said.

"Should we first go find Xin Qin to accept the quest? Or should we look for the things she lost first?" Zi Qian asked.

"Probably accept the quest first, right? That's how the previous two stages were," Xin Hui said, not entirely sure. "Has either of you ever worked backstage for our school's Cultural Gala?"

"No," Zi Qian and I denied in unison.

Zi Qian then added, "I've never even attended Beichuan's Cultural Gala."

"Weren't you two just about to split up a while ago? When did you become so in sync?" Xin Hui asked, full of questions.

Zi Qian glanced at me and answered Xin Hui, "This is something you girls wouldn't understand. It's how we guys communicate."

Xin Hui made a scoffing sound, then said with an unwilling expression, "Anyway, what should we do now? Go search every classroom in the West Zone for this NPC named Xin Qin or the things she lost?"

At that moment, three players from Class 5-6 happened to enter the activity room.

One of them, named Yong Heng, must have heard Xin Hui's earlier question. He quickly walked over to Xin Hui's side and said, "Xin Hui, are you about to look for Xin Qin? She's the boss for this stage. You must first go to Class 3-6 in Building 3 in the West Zone to find her twin sister to accept the quest..."

Among the three from Class 5-6, I only recognize Yong Heng. He's also a dedicated War Simulation player; we've teamed up in dungeons before. I just glanced at the leaderboard; their class is currently in first place. They've already successfully challenged this quest.

Yong Heng greatly admires Xin Hui, something our whole class knows. Often during breaks or after school, you'd see him coming to our class to chat with Xin Hui.

"Hey! We're competitors with them. Why are you giving them hints?" Another male player from Class 5-6 said while walking over.
