Chapter 14: Just got played
We got in the classroom and I saw that same girl who was linking arms with Ethan sitting at my chair. They were laughing about something. Ethan stopped when he saw me approaching.
"You have to move seats. That is Maddie's seat you are occupying right now." Ethan said to the girl.
"Oh shoot! Why did you not tell me?" she told him.
"I am sorry about that. By the way, I am Jasmine." she said, getting up from my seat and extending her hand for a handshake.
I smiled at her shaking her hand and smiled slightly introducing myself. "Madison."
I sat down and took my book out when I heard Jasmine talking to Ethan.
"Wait!She looks familiar. Holy Shit! She is THAT girl you were talking about!" she exclaimed.
Ethan shushed her right away.
I did not hear what Ethan said after that and decided to just ignore them. I was scribbling in my notebook when Ethan said something.
"Maddie. I am sorry. I was supposed to call you over the weekend but I got busy and Jas begged me to show her around the town." he explained.
I just looked at him and ignored him. I faced to my left and joined the conversation Chloe and Brooke were having about the party.
Mr. Thompson arrives exactly when the bell rang for the 1st Period.
"Good morning, students. I see that we have a new student. Ms. Jasmine Stewart, please come in the front." Mr. Thompson said.
Jasmine went to the front and introduced herself. After her introduction, Mr. Thompson collected the essay about the documentary we watched last week. He then proceeded with today's lesson.
I can see from the corner of my eye that Ethan keeps looking at me, but I ignored him. After the 1st Period, I left right away and went to Biology class. I can hear Ethan calling my name, but I just kept ignoring him. I sat on my seat and opened my Biology book.
Ethan arrived and sat in his seat before facing me.
"What is wrong, Maddie? Why are you ignoring me?" he asked.
"Huh? I am busy." I exclaimed and went back to reading my Biology book.
"Maddie.If you are mad at me for not calling you, I am very sorry. Jasmine just got in town and she begged me to show her around." he explained.
I just ignored him.
Luckily, there were no paired activities today. We were just given homework after the discussion, then we were dismissed. I bolted to the door and went straight to the cafeteria. Not really wanting Ethan to keep asking me why I am ignoring him.
I decided to just have a granola bar for lunch. 10 minutes later, I saw Ethan walk in the cafeteria with Jasmine. If I was fuming inside, Brittany is even worse. She is clearly having the worst day possible. She is so close to throwing tantrums.
"Look at Brittany. She is just so burnt right now." Brooke said.
"I know right. Ever since Junior High, she has been trying to get Ethan to date her and only to find out that the new girl is dating him. Payback is a bitch." Chloe replied.
I focused my attention on my phone. I didn't really want to see Ethan with Jasmine right now. After what happened to Ethan and I, this is what he does. Chloe noticed me burying my face in my phone.
"Hey Maddie. Are you okay?" Chloe asked.
"Huh? Yup, I am fine." I lied.
"Are you jealous of Jasmine?" she asked.
"Me? Jealous?" I replied with a laugh.
"Are you sure?" she asked.
"Chloe, I am far from being jealous. Ethan and I are just classmates. What he does is none of my business." i explained.
Luckily, Chloe dropped the topic and went on talking about her party instead. I tried to join in their conversation to forget about the fact that Ethan and Jasmine are sitting a few tables away from us.
I ignored Ethan the whole day. Tyler offered to drop me off after school, but I declined. I took the bus instead. I got home and changed into my PJ's. I went to the kitchen to grab some snacks. Mom left a note on the fridge.
'There are some leftover chicken casseroles in the fridge.Order pizza if you like.

I grabbed a bag of chips and a bottle of orange juice before going back to my room.
I just finished doing all my homeworks when my phone rang. I looked at the caller I.D. and saw its Ethan. I ignored his message and put my phone on silent. He called a couple more times after that, which I completely ignored. I ordered pizza around 7 pm and ate it while watching Netflix. I finished 3 episodes of Lucifer before going to bed.
I just got under my covers when my phone lit up. I saw Ethan sent a message.
'Maddie.I know you are mad at me and ignoring me, but please talk to me.'
I closed my phone and went to sleep.
I stirred in bed as I tried to get some sleep. I checked the time on my phone and saw that it is already 1 am. I was having a hard time sleeping because I am bothered about Ethan's action. I was contemplating whether calling him or not, but in the end I listened to my playlist to help me sleep. An hour later, I finally fell into a deep slumber.
