Liam's POV
Damn it all to hell.
Vivian's willingness to sacrifice herself for that worthless piece of shit should have infuriated me beyond measure, especially when she couldn't even explain why he deserved saving.
And it did infuriate me. Made my blood boil with rage.
But those words she'd just breathed reached something deep inside me that nobody else could touch. Not even Vivian herself understood what she was awakening. They struck a chord in the darkest part of my soul, the part I wasn't prepared to reveal to her.
This wasn't how things were meant to unfold. Vivian wasn't prepared for what I could offer. Not yet.
I lifted my hand to cradle her face, my thumb brushing across her soft cheek. "You don't understand what you're offering me, Vivian."
Her breath caught, her body quivering under my touch. I felt the material of my trousers growing uncomfortably tight.
So pure.
So damn untouched.
