No one knows why this terrible thing happened.
An event that drastically changed everyone's lives.
Twelve years ago, in the year 2100.
A mysterious event was witnessed by the entire planet Earth, and at that moment, everyone wondered the same thing: 'Has the wheel of fate, which had stopped, finally restarted?'
The dark and clear skies of every corner of the globe suddenly cracked, and a giant eye appeared, staring down at Earth.
All living creatures under the sky, gazed upon by that eye, felt "seen to the very depths of their souls."
In just a few moments, the giant eye in the sky suddenly shed tears, as if it were mourning for its creatures. For Him who gave humans the freedom to choose in their lives, for Him who expected His perfect creation, endowed with reason, to build civilization, for humans who were given complete freedom to control their destiny compared to His angels, the utopia they hoped for never even occurred.
In the end, God made a mistake, a variable called obsession. It wasn't created by God. In the beginning, there was no such thing as obsession because God created creatures before humans, such as animals, plants, angels, and demons, based on instincts and commands they received from God.
Under the sky, humanity witnessed an unforgettable sight.
Teardrops falling from the sky seemed to fall onto human bodies and enter their bodies.
"God sees our deepest desires and weeps over human greed."
That was the only thought everyone had when they felt the tears infiltrate their bodies.
Not everyone considered this a gift from God.
Some of them thought the same thing: that these golden tears were a viral plague originating from aliens.
Some people tried to avoid the golden tears by covering their bodies with jackets and umbrellas, and hiding under the eaves of their houses. Even people with unlimited money began renting underground bunkers for personal safety.
Despite these efforts, unfortunately, the golden tears still managed to enter the human body. Whatever covered their bodies couldn't stop them, as if the golden tears weren't physical but rather non-physical.
Upon learning that the gold dust couldn't be prevented by anything, everyone began to think about how to treat it. Hospitals were immediately filled with people from all over the world.
Even those with unlimited means began calling their personal doctors to examine their bodies for abnormalities.
But despite this, all forms of technology and traditional medicine still couldn't detect any abnormalities in the human body.
Starting on the first day of the disaster, the sun disappeared for seven days.
The world was shrouded in darkness, and the atmosphere became extremely cold.
There was no warmth from the sun, and everyone could only rely on campfires or heaters.
Panic and despair spread throughout the world, as if the end had arrived. In some small countries, chaos had spread throughout society, while in developed countries, the chaos remained under control.
Fortunately, the eternal darkness didn't last until all living creatures died; the darkness that had enveloped the world disappeared, and the light of the sun rose again.
That day of disaster, everyone called it 'The World Without Gods'.
Although the golden tears had disappeared from the world, everyone, especially scientists, was still searching for the cause and what side effects the golden tears would bring to the human body.
Through research and the sacrifices of many evil humans who had wreaked havoc, scientists from various countries found the answer. Within a week, they would hold a world conference that would be broadcast on all media outlets worldwide.
On this long-awaited day, everyone from all corners awaited the scientists' statements.
On television and online streaming sites, everyone was slightly amazed to see so many scientists sitting in a white room with a huge dome.
Among the scientists, there was only one young man with long, silver hair. A stark contrast to the white hair of middle-aged men, the young man's hair was a truly natural silver color.
That man was the youngest genius scientist from the Silver Country, a country whose territory is always covered in snow. His name was Andreas VI Crimson.
After waiting for the organizer's opening remarks to be completed, the youngest scientist among them all, Andreas VI Crimson, began to walk forward.
"To all our viewers, I apologize for keeping you waiting for a week."
"I represent scientists worldwide who will announce what we discovered after examining the bodies of the volunteers."
"We discovered a golden teardrop in the hearts of the people we studied. What we didn't expect was that the golden teardrop wasn't physical, but rather non-physical."
"Of course, when we first saw it, it really surprised us all. It seemed to have come from a giant eye in the sky from the day of 'The World Without God,' and had entered our bodies."
"But don't worry, there's no need to worry about anyone having malicious intentions toward you because of the golden teardrop in your body. At least in the volunteers we've obtained, the golden teardrop we've been observing disappears when they die."
Then Andreas paused, staring at the camera with an unreadable gaze, as if weighing his words.
"But there's something else we discovered... something even more alarming and yet... miraculous."
The conference room fell silent. The entire world held its breath.
"These golden tears... are not just ordinary foreign particles. We discovered that they resonate with something deeply personal about each individual—with their deepest desires, with their most hidden obsessions."
Andreas took a deep breath.
"Perhaps... this is God's mercy. Or perhaps it's His curse. We can't be sure yet. But what we do know is that when those golden tears turn into seeds and bloom, a person will gain the power that corresponds to their deepest obsession—the obsession to achieve their own happiness, whatever form that takes."
The crowd of scientists behind him looked restless. Some whispered to each other.
"A volunteer obsessed with protecting his family gained the ability to create a steel shield impenetrable to ordinary heavy weapons. Another obsessed with beauty gained the ability to change forms indistinguishable to the human eye."
Andreas VI Crimson stared intently into the camera.
"God—or whatever force sent these golden tears to planet Earth—has given us a gift. But at the same time, this is the beginning of the most cruel era humanity has ever faced. Because not all obsessions are pure. Not all obsessions are good."
"A person obsessed with power will gain the ability to control others. A person obsessed with revenge will gain the ability to destroy. A person obsessed with wealth will be able to steal anything. And we don't know... we don't know how to stop this."
A tense silence filled the world.
"The good news we're generating right now is that in the volunteers we've recruited, not everyone can activate 100% of the beads of obsession in their hearts."
"So I beg you, to anyone who feels those golden tears starting to turn into seeds of obsession within you, ask yourself: What do you truly want? What is your obsession? Because that will determine who you become."
"Call the number below if you feel a change in your body. And... pray. Pray that your obsession won't destroy the world."
Andreas stepped down from the podium, leaving the world in fear and confusion.
