Chapter 112: Dudley Vs Voldemort
Dudley cast a curse toward Voldemort, but the Dark Lord parried it as if it were nothing.
"Too weak and pathetic," sneered Voldemort, raising his wand. The ground beneath his feet trembled as he transfigured the shattered stones into towering golems with glowing crimson eyes. As if that weren't enough, he conjured another golem to attack Dudley.
The creatures let out guttural roars before charging forward, their heavy steps shaking the ruined garden of Bones Manor.
Dudley didn't flinch. He inhaled deeply and time seemed to slow as his vision sharpened. Every movement of the golems became predictable thanks to his Gamer's Mind.... each swing, each shadow perfectly timed. With a quick flick of his wrist, he casted another spell, "Diffindo Maxima!"
The cutting curse sliced through the air like a blade of light, splitting the first golem cleanly in half. The second raised its fist, but Dudley vanished with Swift Move, reappearing behind it and slamming his wand against the ground. The earth cracked, erupting into jagged spikes that pierced through the creature's chest.
When he reappeared, Voldemort was already pointing his wand at him. "Fiendfyre!"
A monstrous serpent of flame roared across the field, twisting and consuming everything in its path. The inferno burned hotter than the standard fire.
Dudley quickly tossed a Focus Potion down his throat. His eyes gleamed with a faint blue aura of heightened concentration. The potion reduced spell cooldowns and make his body had some sort of agility.
He raised both hands, chanting a spell to counter the fire. "Aqua Tempestas!"
Water burst from thin air, forming a massive tidal sphere that collided with the Fiendfyre. Steam exploded outward, engulfing the battlefield in a blinding white mist.
Recognizing that the vapor was boiling hot from the clash, Dudley quickly cast "Protego Maxima!" to shield himself and Madam Bones from the scorching steam.
From inside the fog, Voldemort voice echoed. "You cannot defeat me, boy. I have lived longer than your bloodline can remember, oh forgot you are mudblood!"
Dudley smirked, twirling his wand. "And yet, you still lost to a baby."
Voldemort growled and a barrage of purple curses erupted from the mist, striking like bullets. Dudley moved with unnatural precision, Swift Move activating again. He ducked, sidestepped and deflected, his movements tracing silver blurs through the air. Sparks burst around him like fireworks.
"Impressive," Voldemort hissed. "But how long can you keep that up?"
Dudley didn't answer. He raised his wand high and aimed one meter beside Voldemort. It was a spell of his own creation, similar in effect to Bombarda Maxima. The spell missed its target intentionally, but when it reached the intended spot, it detonated violently.
The shockwave hurled Voldemort backward, crashing him into the manor wall. But the Dark Lord vanished into black smoke and Dudley eyes are searching him, a few second later appeared just beside him.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A flash of green.
Dudley disappeared again using Swift Move. Fighting when anti apparation wards really give advantages to Dudley.
He reappeared ten feet away, breathing steadily. He flicked a Maxima Potion into his mouth and felt magic course through his veins like lightning. His next spell shimmered with amplified power.
He struck first. "Incarcerous Magnus!" Chains of glowing gold burst from the ground, coiling tightly around Voldemort.
The Dark Lord snarled and snapped them apart as if they were paper. "You think I can be bound by schoolboy spells?"
"Worth a try," said Dudley, already moving. His wand glowed crimson. "Confringo!"
The explosion tore the ground between them, sending rubble into the air. Voldemort countered instantly with a purple curse.
Dudley blocked it with Protego Totalum. The barrier rippled but held firm.
They circled each other in silence. The sky above Bones Manor had turned black, swirling with clouds that mirrored their fury.
"You fight better than Potter," Voldemort said, his tone almost amused. "Tell me, what are you?"
"Someone who knows your pattern," Dudley replied, his wand glowing brighter. "And I'm your mother fan, the woman who threw away her own child."
Voldemort face twisted in rage.
The next moments were pure chaos. Dudley unleashed a volley of spells so fast they blurred together, while Voldemort countered each one with his dark magic. Their duel became a storm of light and shadow, two masters clashing on nearly equal ground.
When Voldemort tried to crush him with raw magical force, Dudley shifted tactics. He transfigured debris into metallic wolves, animated armor and floating blades of steel. Voldemort retaliated by transforming the wolves into serpents of ash that lunged back toward him.
Both wizards stepped through the smoke like dancers locked in perfect rhythm, reading each other movements.
Voldemort fired a piercing jet of green energy, but Dudley snapped his fingers. "Reverso!" The curse curved midair and struck one of Voldemort own Death Eaters, killing him instantly.
That made Voldemort furious. His magic surged, red lightning crackling from his wand. "You dare mock me!"
"I'm just getting started."
Dudley raised his wand skyward, channeling mana through every nerve in his body. He finally invoked his Ancient Magic.
"Fulminare Tempestus!" he shouted.
Thunder roared. Lightning split the sky, crashing down in a spiral around Voldemort. The ground exploded, and shockwaves tore across the field. Even the anti-Apparition wards trembled under the force.
When the dust settled, Voldemort stood unharmed inside a glowing crimson shield. His eyes blazed with fury. "Magnificent power," he whispered. "But still beneath mine."
He waved his hand. The golems Dudley had destroyed earlier reformed, now marked with runes that pulsed with dark light. They charged again.
Dudley conjured a storm barrier to block them, then used Swift Move to appear behind Voldemort, firing a point-blank Reducto. The spell exploded, tearing apart the manor gate but Voldemort had already vanished and Dudley don't know what spell he used to vanish.
Their duel stretched across the battlefield, Dudley chasing, Voldemort weaving through ruins, both casting faster than the eye could follow. Curses collided midair, detonating in brilliant flashes that illuminated the broken manor grounds.
"Hey, Tommy, I'm getting tired. Let's postpone this match for another day," said Dudley, panting but still smirking.
Voldemort froze. Rage twisted his face, not only had Dudley dared use his Muggle name, but he also treated the duel as a game.
Dudley chuckled softly, then changed his focus. Voldemort, Horcruxes were still active, killing him now would be pointless. Instead, he turned his wand toward the remaining Death Eaters.
If he couldn't end Voldemort tonight, he could at least cut down his army.
(P/S: You might notice Dudley suddenly speaking mid-duel despite being in Gamer's Mind. In truth, he toggled the mode off briefly to respond to Voldemort's taunts... don't ask why I didn't include in fight scenes, because me myself feel weird adding that word mid fight.)
