"No! Why would you want to do something like that? What if you get caught in a trap or something?!" Katara said in a loud voice, her eyes narrowed in anger at Norrak's stupidity.
To be fair. Katara's worries are not unfounded since a Fire Nation ship that old could randomly blow up, trigger traps meant for benders, or even have something unknown on it.
Norrak tries to ease her worry and anger as she tries to stop her from screaming. But it seems that his efforts to calm her down only made her angrier.
"Are you trying to calm me down right now?! Well, I don't appreciate it!" Katara screamed at Norrak's face. Norrak could not help but chuckle at the situation.
"Man... Is this what the first quarrel of husband and wife is like?" Sokka asked Gran Gran with a raised eyebrow as he stood outside the tent of Katara and Norrak.
"Oh my boy, Sokka. If you knew the half of it. But what matters in the end is finding a way to reconcile and admit to mistakes and rights," Kanna said with a smile, remembering all the time she had an argument with her late husband.
"In this case, I don't know if I even want to get married..." Sokka said with a scared look as he imagines fighting with his future wife, and she suddenly pulls out a spear and stabs him in the balls.
Bam!
"What is going through that heart of yours?! I suggest you hurry and get a wife already!" Kanna said as she smacked her stick on Sokka's head, who let out a gasp of pain.
"F-Fine... But why did you have to hit me that hard!" Sokka said with a hint of fear before looking up at Kanna with a worried shout. Kanna sighed, and Sokka jumped away, avoiding a stick attack.
"Go and wash your smelly socks! Your sister is now married, and she has to take care of her and Norrak's clothes alone. She doesn't have the time to ask yours, too!" Kanna said, making Sokka freeze up.
"Damn it, I forgot!" Sokka screamed as he ran towards his tent. Sokka carried a hint of despair as he thought about his socks, which smelled like a bunch of dead worms had infested them.
Sokka was an especially smelly boy, only showering once someone forced him. Without Katara and Kanna, he would never wash his clothes and socks without being forced to.
"Young couples, how beautiful ~," Kanna said under her breath as she walked away towards her own tent. She needed rest with her old bones as she cannot stand for a long time.
"Do you even understand the risks that you will be placed in?- Urgh!" Before Katara can continue with her words. Norrak pressed his lips on her, and she glared into the kiss.
"D-Don't think-Urgh~-that i will a-allow t-this-ugh~," Katara moaned it non the kiss as Norrak placed his right hand on her waist and his left on her plump backside.
Norrak smirked, and he bit her lower lip teasingly, to which Katara opened her lips, allowing his tongue to push in and start conquering her mouth like he had done so every day for 10 months.
"Katara, how about this. If you let me go, when I come back from the boats, I will do anything you ask me to~," Norrak whispered in the kiss, licking Katara's lips as he placed a teasing slap on her butt, causing it to jiggle.
Katara looked into Norrak's eyes, half-lidded as she felt his hands on her ass and her waist. Her tongue wrestled with Norrak's while saliva dripped down her chin as she was losing in the kiss.
"F-Fine, but you only have three hours before you have to come back~," Katara said, and Norrak smirked as he picked her up, her legs wrapping around his waist.
He kissed her even deeper, causing Katara to continuously moan into his mouth, grinding her lower half on Norrak's waist, his hard-on pressing into her tummy.
With a final kiss, Norrak pulled back from Katara's face, allowing her room to breathe and to get to her senses.
"Thanks, Katara. I promise nothing will happen, I will come back to you, and I will do as you say~," Norrak said, smiling as he spoke in a teasing tone at the end of his words.
"Y-You better! Idiot!..." Katara said as Norrak placed her down. IT was still early in the morning, and as Norrak turned to leave, Katara sighed, watching its back get less and less visible.
"When are you going to tell him?" Suddenly, a blue light in the shape of a stingray floated out of her back. Its eyes were glowing white, and it spoke with Katara.
"This boy and his weird eyes had already noticed me in your soul, even before you had awakened me," Raava, the spirit of light and peace, spoke as Katara sat down on their shared bed.
"I don't know... What if he doesn't want me to go and spend my life trying to bring peace to the world... Not like I wanted that either," Katara spoke with worry, her tone turning slightly annoyed at the end.
"Katara, I am truly sorry for placing this burden on you. But you have to understand that if I died, I would not be reborn unless 10,000 years passed," Raava said in an apologetic tone, causing Katara to smile.
"It's okay, I understand what you mean. 10,000 years without an Avatar... If this much chaos happened in 100 years, that 10,000 years would be chaos unlike ever before," Katara muttered.
She could still remember when she was randomly training alone outside the tribe a day before today. When she was suddenly enveloped in a white light that shot through the clouds.
From what Raava told her during that day. The avatar, a young airbender, had been frozen in an iceberg and was about to die. Which would break the avatar cycle and also cause Raava to die.
So, Raava made the decision to forcibly leave the boy and redirect herself to the nearest waterbender since the next turn is a waterbender avatar.
This also had consequences of Raava losing the reincarnations of the other avatars and breaking the avatar cycle, but without killing herself. And the young airbender boy also died in the process.
At first, Raava was going to choose Norrak as the next avatar. But because Katara had a massive amount of Chi, she had decided to choose her as the new avatar.
And just yesterday, Katara had finally reached a power level that Raava decided to awaken and told her everything about who she was and what she was doing.
"Thank you," Raava said one last time before retracting back into Katara, never to speak with her again unless she needs her help. Katara sighed as she touched her chest.
"Norrak..." Katara said, smiling as she fell back onto the bed, her thighs pressed tightly together.
"I can't wait for you to come back~"

So, I decided that this is the way Katara is the new avatar. Aang was about to die from the ice, and Raava decided to forcibly leave, killing Aang in the process.
This ended the avatar cycle, making Katara the new single avatar without anyone backing her. This also gave me a reason to make Katara and Norrak actually wander the world looking for formidable elemental teachers.
