Oh moon
You shine so bright
Despite the darkness that surrounds you
Oh stars
You twinkle like fine diamonds
Scattered all around the dark sky
Illuminating the night
Unaffected and uninfluenced
By the surroundings
Exhibiting a condescending allure
The night party begins
The cicadas sing
The fireflies dance
The crickets sing
The dragonflies dance
I want to run barefoot in the grass
Under the moonlight
Oh moon and stars
Your reflection illuminate the rivers and lakes
I want to run to the rowing boat at the river bank
Under a willow tree
And row the boat
Gently down the river
Under the moonlight
Merrily
Hearing the bamboo leaves gently
Rustle in the wind
A wind that isn't cold but yet is cooling
Refreshing and clean
The sweet fragrance of the lilies blooming under the moonlight
Oh to sit under the willow tree
By candlelight and moonlight
To flip the pages of a good book
Truly the best companion is a book
And truly reading
Under the moonlight
Would be a magical moment
Lying down
And assessing everything
It is truly a blessing
A blessing to be grateful for
As we indulge ourselves
In the beauty of God's creation
We recognise our Lord
And be grateful for every little thing
Every little moment
For he is our sustainer
