As the rain just fell
For hours on
Clattering on the roof
And against the window panes
The sky partially dark
A soothing sound for the mind
Leaving behind
The fresh mist in the air
The scent of rising earth
A distinct scent
Hard to describe with words
Yet calming and more
Alluring than any perfumes
A gentle breeze blowing
With the scent of water
Mixed with herbs and earth
The birds who took refuge
During the rain
Now soaring high in the sky
As if playing tag
Chirping happily in different tunes
Weaving their little homes
As master craftsmen
While witnessing their craftsmanship
Leaving us speechless
As to how with their tiny little
Minds, tiny little feet
And tiny little beak
They bring their materials
And weave their nest
With hardly any tools
But their beaks
Yet their craftsmanship is spectacular
Such is the magnificence
Of Allah's creation
Then how magnificent is Allah himself
Our creator, our sustainer
Glory be to him
For he is indeed the master and creator
Of all worlds and realms
