"Instead of showcasing your body cheaply like an art in a museum, heavens, if you're even that worth it…. why don't you start fulfilling your duties as a wife? Do you wish to drag the family's name into the mud by creating scandals? Just what is wrong with you?"
I'm simply at a loss. I don't dare move or utter any word. My face is still twisted to the side, stinging from how sharp the slap was.
"As if making us realize we got an incompetent daughter in-law isn't enough, you're now making us see you're also cheap? What did I even expect from you? I mean, look at your mother. A woman who would abandon her young child and run to start a family with another man, what was I thinking believing you could be any different?"
My heart contracts painfully, as though beating against the tips of several blades.
I hear Colson step closer.
