EXT – ALLEY – DAY
Randy walks away while Eliza eats in the garbage.
Eliza jumps out of the dumpster and follows Randy.
ELIZA
Hey, wait up.
RANDY
Why are you following me, you ugly mutt?
ELIZA
For your information, the name is 'Eliza.' And I'm not ugly.
Listen, if we're going to be seen together, you have to start acting like a dog.
RANDY
I don't have time. I have business to attend to.
Eliza spots a couple of dog catchers nearby.
ELIZA
You'll have to worry about them first.
Eliza runs off, and the dog catchers try to catch Randy.
Randy runs after Eliza, and the dog catchers chase them both.
DOG CATCHER
You won't get away this time, Muttician.
RANDY
Did he just call you 'Muttician'?
ELIZA
Yes, I told you, they can never catch me. Watch.
Eliza knocks a box on one dog catcher's head, causing him to bump into a lamppost.
She jumps into a dumpster, digs fast in the garbage, and throws it in the other catcher's face.
Eliza jumps on his catch pole, swings it around, and trips him.
While both dog catchers are down, Eliza and Randy run off.
RANDY
Impressive. No wonder they can never catch you.
ELIZA
It's also why they call me The Great Muttician.
EXT – DOWNTOWN – DAY
Eliza and Randy head downtown as far away from the scene as possible.
INT – WEREWOLVES' HOUSE – DAY
The werewolves return home after saving people.
Mrs. Wolf checks Randy's room but finds him missing.
ANNA
Randy?
Mrs. Wolf goes to Mrs. Young for help.
ANNA
Mrs. Young, have you seen Randy?
MRS. YOUNG
No, Mrs. Wolf, I thought he was with you and the pack.
ANNA
Well, he wasn't.
MRS. YOUNG
The sun is rising; everyone should go to sleep.
I'll search for Randy. He couldn't have gone far.
Additionally, he'll revert to his usual self.
So, even if I don't find him, he'll walk home alone.
MAX
If she only knew.
The werewolves change back into humans and go to bed after a long night.
EXT – UNKNOWN – DAWN
Randy looks worried as the sun rises.
Morning comes, and Randy closes his eyes.
Randy opens his eyes and realizes he hasn't changed back into a human.
ELIZA
Are you ok?
RANDY
Fine. I was expecting a slight change when the sun came up.
You see, I'm a were...um. I'm a were...
ELIZA
A what?
RANDY
I'm aware you're embarrassed by me and want me to start acting more like you.
ELIZA
And I know you have no idea how to be a real dog.
So, act like a dog, or you're on your own.
RANDY
No. I need you.
Eliza walks away.
ELIZA
Last chance, Sled dog.
Randy follows Eliza, ready to learn to be a dog.
EXT – PARK – DAY
Eliza shows Randy how to sniff like a real dog by sniffing a lamppost.
Randy sniffs the lamppost and gets a picture of recent events.
Randy takes a deep breath of fresh air and senses what happened recently in the neighborhood.
Randy and Eliza walk away together.
RANDY
I'll never pee in public.
ELIZA
We'll see.
EXT – PARK – DAY
Eliza shows Randy a stick and throws it, pointing in the direction it went.
Eliza throws another stick; Randy tries to grab it, but falls, and the stick bounces off him.
Eliza signals no, points to her mouth, and clicks her teeth.
Eliza throws another stick, which gets stuck in Randy's fur.
Randy circles looking for the stick, but can't find it.
Eliza laughs at Randy.
Eliza throws another stick, hitting Randy in the face; he howls and runs off.
Eliza covers her face, frustrated that she still can't teach Randy to fetch.
EXT – BUTCHER SHOP – DAY
Eliza shows Randy how to beg at the butcher's.
Eliza begs, and the butcher gives her some food, which she eats.
Eliza helps Randy learn to beg by grabbing his face and working on it.
Randy looks adorable once he gets it right.
Eliza points at the butcher's door.
The butcher gives Randy a steak, impressed by his cute face.
ELIZA
Good job!
EXT – PARK – DAY
Eliza returns to the park and shows Randy how to fetch again.
ELIZA
Now, try to get it from me.
Randy tries to get the stick from Eliza, but can't.
Eliza throws the stick, and Randy goes after it.
Eliza shows Randy a ball and hits it across the lawn.
Randy chases the ball.
Eliza shows Randy how to dig and puts a bone in her hole.
Randy digs a hole in the park and puts the stick he fetched in it.
They fill their holes and pat them shut with their tails.
EXT – LAWN – DAY
Eliza turns on a sprinkler and tells Randy to try to get a drink from it.
Randy grabs the sprinkler with his mouth and chases Eliza with it.
EXT – TRUCK – DAY
Eliza and Randy hitch a ride in the back of a truck.
Eliza shows Randy how to have fun in a car by feeling the breeze with her tongue out.
Randy tries it and starts having a good time.
RANDY
This is awesome.
EXT – DOG PARK – DAY
Randy and Eliza jump off the truck and run into a dog park.
A dog wants to play with Randy, who is confused.
Eliza shows Randy the position to signal play.
Randy does a downward dog to signal he wants to play.
The other dog runs off, and Eliza waves Randy on.
Randy and the other dog start playing together.
ELIZA
Impressive.
EXT – DUMPSTER – NIGHT
Eliza jumps into a dumpster and shows Randy the items that can be pulled out.
Randy joins her.
EXT – HOWLSBURG FOUNTAIN – NIGHT
Eliza and Randy see the Howlsburg fountain and fireworks nearby.
Eliza shows Randy how to scratch his ear with his back feet.
Randy tries but falls and fails.
Eliza scratches her back on a building wall and tells Randy to do the same.
Randy does it and says it feels good.
Randy scoots on his butt with his paws dragging him.
He gets down on his back and scratches on the ground.
RANDY
Oh yeah, this feels great.
EXT – HOWLSBURG FOUNTAIN – NIGHT
Randy opens his eyes and sees his family running around, screaming.
Eliza grabs Randy, hides him, and keeps him quiet.
A werewolf looks down but doesn't see them.
Eliza peeks out and sees the werewolves are gone.
ELIZA
Ok, Randy. Last lesson, werewolves are evil.
RANDY
What? What do you mean?
ELIZA
Werewolves go around at night, pretending to help people when looking for people to eat and turn into werewolves to increase their army, so dogs can't have homes, and werewolf hunters won't stand a chance.
And when morning comes, they sleep in coffins.
RANDY
Isn't that a vampire?
ELIZA
Why are you defending them? Are you a werewolf hugger?
RANDY
Well...
ELIZA
Because if you are, you're on your own.
RANDY
Of course, I'm not a werewolf hugger. I hate those freaks.
ELIZA
Yeah, ok.
Eliza walks off.
Randy follows her.
