I was mesmerized by Irvin's smile, my heart skipping a beat as our eyes locked again. The intensity of his gaze melted my entire existence. I felt like I was drowning in his eyes, completely lost in the moment as if the world had disappeared around us. But before I could process what was happening, Irvin's friends jumped into the ring, congratulating him on his win and breaking the spell between us.
I watched as they pulled him away, feeling a pang of disappointment wash over me. I started to rise from my seat, considering following him, then stopped myself, clearly torn about whether I should. I settled back into my spot while Celeste's boyfriend was all over Celeste, celebrating his own victory with kisses and embraces.
My attention, however, was focused on tracking where Irvin had gone.
