Davina's POV
I couldn't stand waiting any longer—I needed to find Irvin, needed to speak with him. That's all I wanted, just to talk.
I told Celeste I was stepping out for some air, and she reminded me to hurry back.
My heart hammered as I rushed down the hallway, driven by determination despite having no clear destination. I had to locate Irvin somehow. In my haste, I accidentally burst into a room where a stripper was performing for a client. I muttered frantic apologies while fleeing.
Spotting a girl nearby, I quickly asked for directions to Echo's dressing room. She gave me an odd look before pointing the way. I thanked her and headed in that direction.
Turning the corner, I peered into the room and my stomach plummeted. Caroline was there.
My first instinct was wondering if they'd reconciled.
That's when they both noticed me.
Caroline seemed almost delighted by my appearance, while Irvin regarded me with complete indifference.
