Chapter 3: The Egg That Hasn't Hatched in Ten Years

"Cough, cough!"

Suddenly, a harsh coughing sound came.

Hearing the sound, Ye Feiyang snapped out of his excitement, looked at the young girl in his arms, carefully put her down, and placed his hands behind his back. A blush of embarrassment appeared on his face, while the young girl's small face was flushed crimson, like an apple, making one salivate and want to take a bite.

Unfortunately, Ye Feiyang had no time to appreciate such a beautiful scene. Meanwhile, Jiang Yu, hearing the sound, instinctively sprang from the rocking chair with such speed that even the little black cat in his arms didn't react, startled by Jiang Yu's movement, its black fur bristling instinctively.

"Master!"

Jiang Yu looked at the old man at the door, respectfully called out, and then continuously stroked the soft fur of the little black cat, using this method to soothe the startled kitten in his arms.

"Master."

"Old Pang."

Ye Feiyang and A Xu looked up at the old man at the door and said softly.

"Jiang family girl, you and A Yu stay for a bit. I'm taking this kid Fei Yang with me first."

The old man first spoke to A Xu with a kind face, and then a gentle breeze swept through. Ye Feiyang and the old man had already vanished.

Jiang Shaoxu and Jiang Yu exchanged glances, their eyes filled with confusion.

"Jiang Yu, what does your master want with Fei Yang? He looks a bit hostile."

Jiang Yu gave a wry smile and shook his head.

"I don't know either, but it's never anything good whenever Master looks for Senior Brother alone."

"Senior Brother, may you be blessed."

"Fei Yang, take care."

"Ouch!"

Ye Feiyang landed on the ground with a thud, cried out in pain, slowly stood up, and rubbed his backside with one hand. He looked at the old man now sitting in the grand chair and said helplessly,

"Master, what's this all about now?"

The old man's face was expressionless, his tone steady and calm, devoid of any emotional fluctuation, making it impossible to discern his mood.

"Why do you want to go to Bo City?"

"I wanted to go to Bo City before because I felt I was a bit too famous in the Imperial Capital. Everyone in the Imperial Capital knows I am your disciple, and no matter what I do, it will be associated with the name 'Pang Lai's disciple.' I don't want that; I'm afraid I'll lose myself amidst flattery, so I want to go to a small city for school."

Hearing his master's words, Ye Feiyang understood that his entire conversation with A Xu had been overheard. At this point, saying he no longer wanted to go to Bo City would only seem like trying to cover up something.

Ye Feiyang simply stated the reason he had already prepared in his mind.

"But why must it be Bo City? Can't it be Yu City or Yucheng?"

Pang Lai looked at Ye Feiyang with complex eyes and said in a calm voice. [6][9][s][h][u][x][.]c[o][m]

"Yucheng and Yu City are naturally fine too."

Hearing this, Ye Feiyang gave an awkward smile and said.

Pang Lai saw a hint of embarrassment on Ye Feiyang's face, and the corners of his mouth curved slightly upward.

However, Ye Feiyang's gaze was unfocused, and he didn't notice.

He was currently thinking about how to round out his words and stay in the Imperial Capital.

"You want to go to Bo City, but can you bear to part with that Jiang family girl?"

Pang Lai asked with a hint of playfulness in his eyes.

"Of course, I can't bear to part with A Xu, nor with Master and Junior Brother, so I've decided…"

Ye Feiyang rubbed his eyes, feigning reluctance, and said.

However, before Ye Feiyang could finish speaking, Pang Lai interrupted him.

"You want to go to Bo City, and I agree. I'll prepare some things for you these next few days; you can pick them up in a few days. I'll also arrange a high school for you in Bo City."

Hearing Pang Lai's words, Ye Feiyang was stunned, then looked at Pang Lai in disbelief, hardly trusting his ears. In his opinion, his master, who was the biggest obstacle to him going to Bo City, had actually relented!

"After you go to Bo City, don't just focus on playing. Pay attention to your cultivation. If you don't meet the standards I set, I'll personally come to Bo City and drag you back. Then, until you reach the Super Tier, you won't even think about leaving this courtyard!"

A hint of a smile flashed in Pang Lai's eyes, then he straightened his face and feigned sternness.

"Master, don't worry, I will definitely cultivate diligently."

Ye Feiyang smiled and patted his chest, agreeing wholeheartedly. The next second, he put away the smile on his face and cautiously asked,

"But, Master, what are the standards?"

"As my disciple, you must naturally be a cut above the rest. Before university, your cultivation must be at least Dual-Element Intermediate Tier. Regarding the control of Star Seeds, the speed of Star Orbit connection must reach 'Instantaneous Star Orbit,' and you must master Intermediate Tier Star Seeds. These requirements shouldn't be excessive, right?"

Pang Lai narrowed his eyes, stroked his long beard, a faint smile on his face, and looked directly at Ye Feiyang.

"Such requirements will naturally not be difficult for your disciple."

Ye Feiyang cupped his hands with a wry smile.

Seeing Ye Feiyang agree, Pang Lai waved his hand and said,

"Alright, everything that needed to be said has been said. You wretched boy can scram now. Cherish these last few days, and the time you spend with the Jiang family girl."

"You boy, seize the opportunity well, lest a few years pass and the Jiang family girl becomes someone else's girlfriend."

Hearing this, Ye Feiyang cupped his hands and turned to leave.

Watching Ye Feiyang's receding figure, Pang Lai's smile gradually faded, and his eyes became increasingly profound.

"Old Master, since you can't bear to part with Young Master, why did you agree to let him go to Bo City?"

A hoarse voice slowly echoed in the room.

"Alas, a young eagle can only spread its wings and soar once it leaves the protection of the great eagle. Children grow up; they always have to go out and explore. Although this boy Fei Yang seems lazy, I have never truly seen through him."

"I understand a thing or two about A Yu's Night Rakshasa, but Fei Yang's egg, which hasn't hatched in ten years, I can't discern its origin. If not for feeling the rich and powerful life force contained within the egg, I'm afraid this old man would have thought it was a dead egg that couldn't hatch."

Pang Lai sighed deeply.

"Since that egg is not simple, Old Master, why don't you keep Young Master Fei Yang by your side to observe the changes?"

The aged voice carried a hint of profound doubt.

"That egg is extraordinary; once it hatches, there should be a considerable commotion, perhaps even accompanied by strange phenomena. He wants to go to Bo City, probably because that egg is about to hatch."

"If it's truly as I suspect, even in the Imperial Capital, I might not be able to fully protect him. A small place like Bo City, on the other hand, is the best location."

Pang Lai gazed into the distance, a trace of worry in his eyes, and lamented,

"Ah Fu, after Fei Yang goes to Bo City, I'll need you to look after him. All I can do is give him the best resources; the rest will require his own efforts."

"This old servant will surely protect Young Master Fei Yang with his life."

"Why does Fei Yang want to go to Bo City? The last place that woman appeared in Dragon Country seems to be called Bo City!"
