Abigail: After Aiden left, I began walking toward my class when I heard my name being called. I turned around to see my classmate, Lily.
"Hey! What happened?" I asked.
"Sorry to disturb you, but I need your help," she said.
"Oh! You're not disturbing me. Tell me, what do you need my help with?" I asked.
"Right… Ma'am gave me the keys to her drawer for safekeeping, and I was doing fine until now. Ma'am asked me to get something from the drawer, and I did, but when I went to put it back, I couldn't find the keys. So… please help me find them. I only know you in class," Lily explained.
"Relax, Lily. It's not a big deal, and I'll help you," I said.
"For you it's not a big deal, but for me it is! Come on—I was supposed to return the paper by now!" Lily said, grabbing my arm.
"Ok, ok! Let's go," I said, taking her hand, and we walked toward the staff room.
A few minutes later, we were in front of the room.
"So, Lily… you had the keys when you went inside, right?" I asked.
"Yes, I had them," she replied.
"Okay. The keys should be in the room. We'll check thoroughly and hopefully find them."
We went inside and started searching, but the keys were nowhere to be found.
"God! Where is it? Lily, are you sure you didn't take them with you?" I asked.
"Yes! I'm sure," she replied.
"Well, the keys aren't here. We've checked every corner," I said, frustrated.
"What am I going to do now? I had the keys in my hands… then I took out the paper… after that I just shut the drawer and left—" she started.
"Wait, the keys were in your hands?" I asked. She nodded.
"Lily… the drawer is open," I said.
"Yeah… but I don't know why you're asking—ohhhh!" she stopped mid-sentence, eyes wide. She ran to open the drawer and found the keys inside while I gave her a death glare.
"Here it is! I'm so stupid. I didn't realize I left the keys in the drawer," she admitted.
"Well, you're sure," I replied with a smile. We both laughed, looking at each other.
After that, we left the staff room and walked back toward class.
"God! That's a good way to start your day," she said.
"No, it's not," I replied as I stepped into the classroom.
As I entered, I heard my best friend, Alisha, calling me.
"Abigail, where were you?" she asked.
"Sorry, I was helping Lily find Ma'am's keys," I said.
"Oh! Did you find them?" she asked.
"Yup! We did. What happened to you? You look like you won the lottery," I said.
"No, I didn't win the lottery, but you know what? ALEX GOT BEATEN UP BY A SENIOR!" she yelled.
"What? Really?" I asked, surprised.
"REALLY!" she confirmed.
"Wow… he had it coming. So, who beat him? What happened? Tell me everything…" I said. But just then, the bell rang, signaling the start of class.
"Don't worry, I'll tell you everything during lunch break," she said.
"I know," I replied. Our classes started, and after the fourth class, the bell rang for lunch break.
---
Alisha: "Let's go get lunch, then I'll tell you everything," I said.
"Hmm, let's go," Abigail replied.
We left the classroom and went to the cafeteria to get lunch. After getting our food, we sat at a table, and I told Abigail everything about the fight.
"Wow! That escalated quickly… but what can we say except Alex deserved everything that happened," Abigail said.
"Yup! He deserved it," I replied.
As we were talking, I spotted Aiden with his friends getting in line for food. I called him over and told him to sit with us. After they got their food, they joined us at the table.
"Hello, ladies," Liam said, making both Abigail and me laugh.
"So, did you hear what happened with Alex?" I asked.
"Yes, we did hear. In fact, the whole school heard about it," Josh said, laughing.
"Well, the show was too good for no one to hear about it," I said, and we all laughed.
"Honestly, he deserved it. This is the third time he's bullied someone. I stopped him the first two times, but he never listens," Aiden said.
"Well, he'll never bully anyone again. But you know… we still can't believe that you both are related to that jerk," Liam said.
"Honestly, same. You two aren't at all like Alex; he's way too arrogant," I told Aiden and Abigail.
"To be exact, we are not blood-related. He's Dad's stepbrother's son. But what can we say?" Abigail replied.
