As I head out of the bathroom I hear his footsteps behind me.
As soon as I enter my room I stop in my tracks to face him.
"Where do you think you are going?"
"Come on Thea..."
"Bye.And go take a shower.You're going to catch a cold."
"Okay mommy."He says then disappears into the hallway.
I put on my favorite black hoodie,grey sweats and black socks.
I'm lazy to look for shoes.I think I'm warm enough.
As soon as I'm done getting dressed I let my hair loose and belly flop onto my bed with my phone in my hand waiting for Danny to finish showering.
I can't believe senior year is actually over.
Next stop,college.
I scroll through TikTok for a while until Danny barges into my room.
"You just don't believe in knocking do you?"
"Nope."
I roll my eyes then shift my focus back to my phone.
"I said I was sorry Thea."
Silence.
"Calithea."
The moment that name travels through my ears I shoot him a deadly glare and toss a pillow at him.
He bursts into laughter then throws the pillow back at me.
Next thing you know we're having a pillow fight and laughing our lungs out.
He then pulls me in for a hug and apologizes once again.
"I already forgave you."I say genuinely breaking the hug.
He then wraps his arm around my waist and leads me down to the tv room.
"You smell nice"
"I know."
"Danny you're annoying."
"I know."
So that's all he's going to be saying?I'll slap him right now.
I shove him away from me lightly causing him to do the same but harder.
I almost fell over but he caught me.
"Jerk"
He laughs then turns on the tv.
"What movie are we going to watch?"I eagerly ask.
"Fast and the furious 9?"He suggests.
"Perfect!I have been dying to see it."
"Why are girls so extra?"
"Your face is extra."
He sticks his tongue out at me then joins me on the couch after setting everything up and fetching us some popcorn.
I'm laying on his chest and his one arm is wrapped around me while the other strokes my hair gently.
I don't know why but,I have this urge to ask about why he took so long at school.
"Danniel..."
"Yeah?"
"What were you doing at school for so long?..."
Silence.
I knew I shouldn't have asked.
"Don't worry about it."He coldly says after a while.
Strange.
He tells me everything.Why won't he answer me?
"Okay."I simply say.
"How did you get home?Jalissa?"
He asks immediately changing the subject.
"No"
"Oh.Then how did you...?"
"Xavier Queen offered to take me home."I bluntly say.
"You said no right?"He asks making me stop chewing the popcorn in my mouth.
What?
"I was walking home and it was raining.Of course I said yes."
He immediately stops playing with my hair and removes his arm from me.
This makes me feel uncomfortable so I sit up and face him.
"What?"I dare to ask.
"I know it was raining,but you could've said no instead of looking cheap by agreeing."
Did he just call me cheap?
"That's rich coming from you!If anyone is cheap here,news flash it's you."
His facial expression is unreadable.He seems to be deep in thought.
"You could've taken me home after school then drove back!Instead you chose to chase cheap skirts and make me wait for an hour.I had to walk home!Now you're attacking me for finding other means to get home.Bull!"
Silence.
"Now you have nothing to say?Funny."
I say challenging him.
He still says nothing but his eyes are fully focused on me.
I can see the anger in his eyes.
I know he hates when I give guys the time of day but that's not even what happened.
I merely just accepted a generous offer because he was elsewhere doing who knows what.
Realizing my choice of words and tone could have been a bit different and more calm ,I get up and head into the kitchen for a glass of water.
