Why do I feel bad?
Wait,why am I even explaining myself to him?
He seems to believe it's okay to keep stuff from one another so why do I need to explain myself?
"Don't bother."He says harshly staring at me in disgust.
What did I do?
"Hey man...she's right.I'm the one who invited myself she didn't call me or anything."Xavier defends.
"Shut tf up.I wasn't talking to you."
The anger in his tone and body language is clearly evident and almost scary.
"Yo...easy man.You need to chill out."Xavier says with his hands in his pockets.I can tell they are balled into fists and he's trying his best not to react.
"You know what,fuck it I'm out."Danniel says not even looking into my direction once then slams the door on his way out.
Why is he acting like this?I didn't even do anything wrong.
"Xavier what's going on between you two?"I ask folding my arms.
"Nothing.We just don't get along.You know how guys can be."He shrugs his shoulders as if though what just happened doesn't phase him.
I'm not buying what he's selling,but I don't have the energy for this right now so it's whatever.
"Okay."I simply say.
"Anyways...I borrowed you my umbrella so that I'd have an excuse to see you again."
I smile without realizing and stop as soon as I notice him smile too.
"I know we never really spoke or anything during our high school years,but I've been eyeing you for a while and I'd really like to get to know you."
"Uhm..."
I don't think that would be a good idea.Danniel's anger is quite evident that there's a reason as to why he keeps warning me to stay away from Xavier.
"Come on Cali..."He urges with a grin.
You know that saying... 'Stay away from red flags because red symbolizes danger'?Well,this was the moment where Calithea discovered that her new favorite colour was red.
"You know what...sure why not?" I agree feeling a bit guilty for going against Danniel's wishes.
As soon as Xavier pulls me in for a tight squeeze that guilt disappears.
He smells so good.
Danniel's not my dad so he just needs to chill.
"What were you doing before I came here anyways?"He asks following me into the kitchen.
"I was actually going to head out to the store to buy sweets."
"Sweets?"He asks leaning over the kitchen counter.
"Yeah...sweets"I giggle.
"Need some company?"
"I think I know my way around Target Xavier."
"What if you get kidnapped or something?"He asks pretending to be horrified.
"Oh so you're like a super hero then?"
"Exactly.And you're the damsel in distress."
We laugh simultaneously and then head out to his car not so long afterwards.
After hopping in,he offers me the aux chord.
After I decline his offer he connects it to his phone and plays Heartless by The Weeknd.
We both sang along word for word and did the same with the songs that followed after.
Turns out we have the same music taste.
Either that or someone told him about all my favorite songs.
