Though addressed as "King," the elves' succession of power is not hereditary but closer to a "wise person ascends" system.
A successor must be appointed by the previous Elf King and then approved by the Elder Council before they can take the throne.
Thus, the Elf Race has only "king" or "queen," with no titles like "prince" or "princess."
If a hereditary system were in place, we might witness the bizarre scene of a "thousand-year prince."
The Elf Forest does not welcome outsiders, much less the Elf Palace, but except for a diplomatic mission.
