Rain's office,
"Was the deal so good that you signed it immediately, without even considering my opinion?" the man on the other end of the call asked.
"Yes. The presentation was impressive, and the proposal was solid. I didn't need a second opinion. Just what I expected from Ben's daughter," Rain replied.
"Wait… who?" the voice said.
"Ben's daughter. Ben Celeste's daughter—the great businessman," Rain repeated.
"Then why was she there? When I saw the proposal, it definitely wasn't from Ben's company," the man questioned.
"She has no interest in working with her father's company. They seem to clash when it comes to business interests. She's in the food industry, unlike him. And the idea she presented was splendid. She owns a small company—Company B—and runs it independently," Rain explained.
The man chuckled softly on the other end, clearly amazed. "How many more sides of her am I still yet to see?"
Rain frowned slightly. "Huh? You know Lara Celeste?"
"Long story," the man replied. "But how do you know Lara?"
"I saw her at one of the social events. She'd accompanied her father. She stood out—elegant, composed," Rain said.
"Expected of my girl," the voice murmured, unmistakably proud.
"My girl?!" Rain barked. "What am I hearing? it's Lara Celeste? What is going on? Explain yourself, Mr. Zain!"
Zain replied calmly, unfazed. "I'll tell you everything when I get to City A."
Rain scoffed, then burst out laughing. "Finally, the Lord heard my prayers. For a moment there, I thought you might be gay—no dating, no women, no interest in anyone—and that you'd fallen in love with me for life."
He chuckled again. "Honestly, you had me worried."
"Shut up. No woman in this world is falling for you," Zain snorted.
"You never know," Rain replied with quiet confidence.

At Daisy's apartment
"Say it."
"I'll be a good girl…"
"Whose good girl?"
"…Yours."
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Daisy screamed, slamming her book shut as she flopped back dramatically onto her bed.
"I can't… I just can't… stop thinking about Mr. Rain's hands," she groaned, rolling onto her stomach and kicking her feet in the air. "Those hands… those huge hands—I can't stop imagining them on my bare thighs while he's driving with one hand, exactly like the ML in this novel… and then asking me whose good girl I'd be… ahhhhh!"
She rolled back onto her spine with theatrical flair, one arm draped over her forehead.
"I swear, I'm ready to surrender my soul and body… my entire existence… to that man."
"It hasn't even been two hours since your hangover drink, and you're already surrendering yourself to some man?" Lara asked, raising a brow.
"This time, he isn't fictional," Daisy shot back, bouncing upright on the bed.
"Then… who is it?" Lara asked, setting down the dinner she'd bought for Daisy.
"It's Mr. Rain," Daisy declared, eyes dreamy.
Lara didn't even flinch. "Don't do anything stupid that'll scare the client away. Now eat your dinner and sleep. I'll pick you up tomorrow."
With that, she grabbed her bag and walked out of Daisy's apartment.
