"Did you feel that?" Lara asked quietly.
"Feel what?" Daisy replied.
"I thought I saw a shadow move on the roof," Lara said, eyes narrowing.
"Nah… you're imagining things," Daisy shrugged.

Daisy's Apartment
Before Daisy could enter her house, an elderly lady approached her.
"You have a new neighbor. We already welcomed him. Go meet him once you've freshened up."
"Sure, Grandma. They moved in today?" Daisy asked.
"Yes," the old lady replied.
A little while later—
Knock, knock.
Daisy stood outside the adjacent door, holding a box of sweets she had just made. She was dressed in a modest nightgown, covered well around the chest with a scarf, deliberately trying to look decent.
The door slid open.
"Hi… welcome to the neigh—ho… ood," she stammered, eyes widening as she tried to finish the sentence.
"Thanks…" the man grinned, leaning casually against the doorframe. Then, tilting his head slightly, he added,
"Ms. Daisy."
"H-here… here's the sweet I… made," she blurted out, practically shoving the box into his hands before spinning around and sprinting back to her door.
Her scarf slipped off and fell to the floor as she slammed the door shut behind her.
The man bent down and picked it up.
"Sweet, huh?" he smirked.
Inside, Daisy pressed her back against the door, heart pounding.
"Why is Mr. Rain here?!!"

An hour later—
Knock, knock.
Daisy peeked through the peephole. Rain stood there, holding her scarf and the box.
She straightened instantly, smoothed her hair, adjusted her posture, and opened the door.
"Thanks. It was great," he said easily. "And you dropped your scarf when you ran."
His eyes flicked briefly to her gown; it had shifted, drawing attention where it shouldn't have.
"You can… cover yourself," he added, handing her the scarf.
She flushed and wrapped it around her neck immediately.
Daisy let out an awkward laugh.
"May I come in?" he asked.
"Yeah… sure," she replied, panicking as she glanced around the room.
Dark romance novels were stacked on the table. Papers were scattered everywhere.
Rain smiled faintly at how fast she tried to hide her mess.
"I'll make you some snacks," she said quickly, hurrying into the kitchen.
While she was gone, Rain glanced at the papers on the table, running his fingers lightly over them. The moment Daisy returned, he slid them aside and began talking about the last place he lived, shifting the conversation to harmless topics.
After a while, he stood to leave.
The door closed behind him.
"He smells so good…" Daisy whispered, collapsing dramatically onto the spot where he had been sitting.

"Didn't get a thing," Rain said into his phone.
He ended the call, slipped the phone into his pocket, and walked down the hallway.
"She's… all grown up now," he thought.
