Ficool

Chapter 30 - 30. Take off your T-shirt.

Old textile warehouse by the docks

"Where's Dane's man?" Lara asked.

They waited a good thirty minutes, but there was no sign of him.

"Did anyone tip him off?" Daisy asked, scanning the shadows.

Lara's phone buzzed."What? But how? We've been waiting for him for over twenty minutes…" She paused, listening. "Hmm… okay. Did we get anything out of him? …Alright."

She ended the call.

"What happened?" Daisy asked.

"That boss guy was reported dead at the police station," Lara said grimly. "They found a note on him. It said—Dane is back in City B."

Daisy frowned. "How did this even happen? Who else knew about this besides us?"

They stood there in silence, the weight of it settling in.

"Someone's way ahead of us," Lara said finally, exhaling slowly. "But why? What are they gaining from this?"

She straightened. "At least now we know where Dane is. City B. We'll move, but not blindly. We plan this properly."

"Yes," Daisy nodded. "No mistakes."

Daisy's apartment

Daisy was stuck in a crowded lift when it stopped on her floor. As people stepped out, her eyes landed on Rain—standing right in front of her.

Blood stained his black T-shirt. Fresh.

"Did you get into a fight or something?" she asked.

"Why do you ask?" Rain replied calmly.

"There's blood on your shirt," she said, concern slipping into her voice. "Did you fall?"

"No, no, it's nothing. Just a small cut i got, i guess. I banged my arm against something sharp," he said casually.

"Do you have any bandages to cover it?" she pressed.

"No. I'll get some tomorrow."

"Let me bring my first-aid box to your place," she said quickly, hurrying into her apartment before he could protest.

When Daisy entered his house, she said, "Take off your T-shirt."

"Let me lock the door first," Rain replied.

Her heart pounded the moment she heard that.

"S-sure," she stammered.

He pulled off his shirt, nothing underneath. His six-pack abs, his gelled hair, his masculine face, that entire combination screamed way too perfect.

God definitely took extra time creating him… what a face, what a body, she thought, staring far longer than she intended.

Unamused, Rain took a step forward.

"Are we good to apply the medicine and bandage, or do you need more time?" he teased.

"No! No, I'm good. I mean.. I wasn't staring or anything. Right, the medicine. Please sit on the couch."
