I woke up the next morning to an enforcer hitting the bars of my prison.
'Hey, wake up its time to go' he grunted.
What does he mean by time to go? I normally spend three days in this cage after I have displeased the Creeds before I am released. 'I don't understand' I muttered 'Your lack of understanding is not my business, I just need you to get the hell up and follow me mutt!' he said rudely 'You don't have to scream or be rude about it, I can hear you clearly without your screams' I snapped at him 'I am so glad we are about to get rid of you' he said with a grin. 'Let's go' he said opening the cage and dragging me out 'Take it easy I can walk' 'Sure you can, but what is the fun in that. Now move' We went straight to the Beta's residence and I started preparing my mind for another round of abuse. We entered the biggest house in the community with a big chandelier hanging in the sitting room space, and a long staircase that leads upstairs. He took me directly to the Beta's office which is in one of the upper rooms. He knocked and was told to come in. Heavy mahogany doors opened to a cavernous space drenched in shadows, illuminated only by the flicker of golden light from an oversized chandelier. The air carried the faint scent of violence and polished leather, a constant reminder of dominance and excess. A massive desk of blackened oak dominated the room, free of clutter save for a laptop, a sharp pen, an opened white file with pictures and the figurine of a werewolf that looks similar to Beta Ethan. Behind it sat Beta Ethan on a high-backed leather chair, the kind designed to make anyone sitting across from it feel smaller, weaker. On the walls hung portraits and mounted trophies, silent reminders of conquered rivals and claimed victories. A thick Persian rug sprawled across the floor, its crimson pattern resembling dried blood under the dim light. Every detail of the office whispered of power and cruelty—wealth not as a luxury, but as a weapon. Stepping inside felt like crossing the threshold into a predator's den, where cruel things happen. I expected nothing less of the man that owns this office, it portrays him exactly. He gestured for the enforcer that brought me in to leave and me, he told to come closer. Beta Ethan in his forties looks more in his early thirties. The wolf gene is indeed incredible as it slows our aging process. 'Hope you enjoyed your cage, mutt' He barked I had a retort in my mind, however I chose to keep quiet and keep my head down so as not to incur his wrath. Although werewolves are naturally meant to be submissive to their faction head, I don't feel that, it does not come to me naturally. Maybe it's because I do not see him as someone that deserves my respect, why would I respect a man that enjoys dominating and mistreating his weak faction members. 'As a representative of this faction, you have to look better than you do at the moment. You will be given new living quarters for the next one month, some minimal training, reasonable food, some clothes. About your lack of signa we will have to permanently tattoo your hands with one of the moon goddess marks, I must ensure you are not disqualified and be forced to give them my daughter' he said 'You are going to use wolfsbane on me, that's the only way you can tattoo my skin. Besides, they will spot its fake from afar Beta, what do I do once they notice I can't use it at the trial. I might be imprisoned' 'Don't be a p*ssy wolfsbane is not that painful. Them spotting the signa as fake is not my business, my business is to get you into the trial, what happens to you after is up to you, you are smart enough to figure it out. I am sure your smart mouth will save you. However, if discovered nobody in this faction will confess to it being forged you will be liable for those actions. If you try to reveal the truth your dear friend might not live to see another day. You will be given the air moon goddess signa since air is majorly for attack and there was no need for you to use the power as this faction has maintained peace ever since you have been here.' 'I…' 'That's all, ensure you keep your mouth shut, Although I am not worried as the first trial will be your burial ground' he snarled. 'Enforcer Nate, take her to her new quarters' he said The enforcer entered the office, took me by the arm and led me to my new sleeping arrangement. I was taken to a small, charming house with a neat garden and a swing out front., it was painted white, though a bit scrapped at some places, it has a brown door and small cute windows. This must have been owned by a family, they might have relocated to another faction due to job offers or just change of factions. This sometimes happen and the rule says anyone can decide to leave a faction as far as a tangible reason is submitted to the Beta and its accepted. I can see that I would love this place, my own place even if it's for a month, If I wasn't in the cage, I stayed at a shed like house close to the Beta's residence and closer to the trees that starts the forest. This is heaven compared to my former housing option. 'I need to get my clothes' I said while my mind was still enamored by the cute house 'Your clothes are already in the house' He gave me the keys of the house and left me standing at the white painted porch. Finally on my own, I entered the house and was really happy with how cozy and modest everything looked. The floorboards were a warm brown, and a small white settee sat in the center of the living room. Although the floor boards creaked showing their age, I was still very happy I live in a place like this. I really would just love to have Amilia see this, I can already imagine the times though limited we will spend together here, I wish I could call her, but I currently do not have a phone. I went to the bedroom and saw a single bunk bed in the middle of the room and with a small flannel on the foam, a white duvet and a bag unzipped filled with my clothes. Seems everything here is white and brown, well who am I to complain. I was about to explore the bathroom when I had a knock at the door. I rushed to open it expecting to see Amilia. My bright smile dropped immediately when I saw who was on my porch.
'What the f*ck do you want' I growled.
