Chapter 6 - The Mistress Flaunts Her Ring

After seeing a picture of Drey and his ex-wife last night, Lucas had literally gone ballistic. First thing he did was deny any involvement with Harmonica. After that, his stock price had increased significantly.

Everybody was on his side.

He quickly went to a store and bought a 2 carat ring for Rita, hoping it'll get Harmonica off his mind.

Rita had never been so elated in her life. She had quickly called for celebration with her friends. What better place to do it than DeLuca? A place she wouldn't have to see lowly people while flaunting her ring.

But when she got in, her eyes landed on Drey and Harmonica.

She wasn't sure at first that it was harmonica. But when she got closer, she knew it had to be her.

Happily, she took a picture of them and sent it to Lucas before heading towards them with a sly smirk.

''Lucas and I are getting married.''

Harmonica's heart stopped for a minute.

The fact that he proposed to her just two days after their divorce meant that he had been having an affair with her during their marriage. A bitter smile curled her lips and she could feel a lone tear escaping from the corner of her eyes.

''And you must be..?'' Drey asked, eyeing her.

''Rita stark. First daughter and heiress to the stark family, one of the top 10 richest family in the whole of America'' She said with pride, extending her hands towards drey for a handshake.

''Stark? The only stark I've heard of is Tony stark from avengers. You on the other hand, I have no idea.'' Drey laughed, ignoring her outstretched hands.

Rita's face immediately morphed to anger. But she quickly masked it up with a smile. ''Oh it's fine mr DiCaprio. I'll take my leave now.'' She said, putting her hands back at her side before giving harmonica a side glance and walking away.

''Are you okay?'' Drey asked harmonica immediately Rita left. She had been rooted to spot since Rita spoke about her engagement to Lucas.

''I need to get out of here.'' Harmonica said, getting up from the bar stool immediately. She pushed past a lot of people as tears dripped down her eyes.

She could hear drey calling for her but she ignored him, running outside.

The cold air hit her hard but not as hard as Rita's words did. She moved to call a cab but drey pulled her back, staring at her annoyingly.

''Why would you be offended by what she said?! He is no longer your husband, he has moved on!'' Drey screamed at her, hoping it'll get some kind of sense into her head.

''But I haven't!'' She shouted, tears dripping from her eye. She had tried her best to not look pathetic in front of him. But she just couldn't hold in her emotions anymore. ''I am pregnant with his child drey. What do you want me to do?!'' She asked, hitting her hands against his chest as she bawled her eyes out.

''You are pregnant?'' Drey asked in shock, staring at her belly.

''Yes.'' She answered, still crying.

Drey quickly took her in his arms, hugging her tightly. Her tears soaked his shirt but it didn't matter. He couldn't believe he was yelling at a pregant woman. Worse, he had offered her whisky.

He patted her head as she cried, offering only soothing words to her.

(Minutes later)

Harmonica was now seated by the passenger seat while Drey's hand wrapped around the steering wheel.

She looked towards him and when his eyes met hers, she quickly averted it.

She couldn't believe she had shown him so much emotions. It was so embarrassing!

''Are you alright?'' Drey asked, chuckling at her shy expression.

''I'm sorry for staining your clothes.'' She said, fiddling with her dress.

''It's alright moni. You know I don't mind.'' He said, laughing as he remembered how she used to stain his clothes with snot when they were little.

Harmonica also laughed too as she realized what was going through his mind.

''Did you tell Lucas about the baby?'' Drey asked and the smile on harmonica's face faltered.

''Yes.'' She muttered, lowering her head.

''And…?'' Drey asked, his eyes focused on the road even though he was occasionally whipping his head in her direction.

''He said it's not his.''

''What?!'' Drey shouted, slamming the brake so fast that their body lurged forward and then slammed back into the seat.

''Dreyy!'' Harmonica shouted, looking around to check if they had hit someone.

''Look at me moni. What did Lucas say?'' Drey asked seriously, all other playful expressions wiped off his face.

Harmonica fidgeted before looking at him. She knew what drey was capable of if he became angry. He had beaten a guy to pulp before just for grazing his hands on her ass.

He would not let Lucas off the hook.

''He said it's not his Drey. He said I slept with his friend. He said I'm carrying a bastard.'' She said, recalling the names Lucas had called her as he stared at her with disgust.

Drey exploded, hitting his hands against the steering wheels in anger.

''I'm going to kill him!'' He shouted, reaching for the car door when harmonica stopped him.

''Please drey. I'm tired of all this drama. I'm tired of Lucas and the drama that comes with him. I don't want any of that anymore. I want to forget about Lucas. I plan to raise this baby all by myself. Please let it go.'' She said, cleaning the stray tears off her eyes as she caressed her belly.

Drey sighed loudly before closing the car door. He patted harmonica's head, smiling at her. ''Not by yourself moni. I'll always be here for you.''

Harmonica nodded, smiling back at him. She had other plans in mind but right now, she didn't want drey worrying about her.

Minutes later, they arrived at the house. Harmonica was walking in when the gatekeeper called her. ''Ma'am. Someone sent you a mail.'' He said, stretching an envelope to her.

Harmonica gave him a confused look but collected it regardless. She looked through the envelope and saw that her name was written on it.

'Who could possibly have mailed this to her?' She though.

Shrugging, she walked into her room and opened the envelope, pulling out a folded file.

When she opened the file, she saw that it was a contract written where she owned 80% of shares in a company. When she checked the sender, it was Mr stone—Lucas dead father.

She quickly looked through it again and found a number attached to the file. She picked up her phone and dialed the number, pressing it to her ear.

''Who are you? And why did you send me this?'' She asked immediately the call went through.

There was a pause for a minute before a baritone voice bloomed from the other end. ''You must be harmonica. I'm Romano, Lucas elder brother.''
