Chapter 8 - She Is Gone

''I don't give a fuck about his 'don't let strangers in' rules. I need to see my wife!'' Lucas shouted at the gatekeeper that was in charge of guarding the estate gate.

The whole estate belonged to Drey and he had been here for almost half an hour, shouting at the gatekeeper like a maniac.

''I'm sorry sir. I've tried to put a call through but the boss said to not disturb him.'' The gatekeeper answered anxiously. It was his first day of working with Drey and he was already getting scolded by a total stranger.

''My wife is in there and she is pregnant! If you don't fucking—'' He clicked his tongue, shoving the man aside before reaching for the control button himself. He clicked on the green button and the gate opened.

He gave the man a dirty look before heading for his car and driving into the estate.

Once he got to drey's massive mansion, he pulled up at the front gate and banged at the door angrily. ''Harmonica!!'' He shouted, hitting his knuckles against the gates angrily.

The gates opened and Lucas stared at Drey annoyed face. They were of the same height so they each looked into each other's eyes, anger boiling in both.

''I'm here to take my wife away. Where is she?'' Lucas asked, looking around.

''Your wife? What a joke.'' Drey chuckled. He had been dying for a punch all day. And the rat just decided to walk into the trap.

''Just let me talk to harmonica. I don't give a fuck about you.'' Lucas said, shoving Drey aside but the latter held him by the hand, twisting it to the back before giving him a punch on the face.

Lucas turned around, letting his hands loose before punching Drey back in the face. They punched each other repeatedly, blood spluttering out of the corner of their mouths but they didn't give up. They were both two pissed off people badly in need of a release.

With an annoyed sigh, Lucas knead Drey in the ribs countless times and the latter fell to the floor, groaning.

Lucas quickly took that as an opportunity to search for harmonica.

He entered into the house, looking through every nook and cranny for her. He could smell her scent—rose and petals. But he couldn't see her.

After turning the house upside down for a while, he stumbled upon a piece of paper and he picked

It up, his eyes widening at its content.

[Dear Drey, I'm deeply sorry but this would be the last time you'll be hearing from me. I am really grateful for how you have treated me this past couple of days and how you were so happy about the baby. I might have gone to a far place, but that doesn't mean I'll forget what you've done for me. Please don't worry about me. ~Harmonica.]

Drey emerged, his hands still clutching his ribs as he stared at Lucas shocked expression.

''Harmonica is gone.''

(6 months later)

''No I can't do this!'' Harmonica shouted as pain shot up her body.

''You just have to relax ma'am. The baby would be out anytime soon.'' The nurse cooed, rubbing at her hands soothingly.

Harmonica gritted her teeth, digging her nails into the edge of the hospital bed as another contraction ripped through her. Sweat dripped from the sides of her head and her breathing was as ragged as possible.

''Please.. I—can't—'' She stuttered, staring at the nurses pleadingly.

''Yes you can'' The doctor said, popping her head from between harmonica's legs. ''Just one last push. I can see the head already.'' She said, her head getting lost between harmonica's legs again.

At her words, harmonica shook her head positively. She let out a guttural cry, pain and exhaustion evident on her face as she pushed with all the intensity and strength left in her.

''Harder.'' The nurse encouraged and she screamed, pushing as hard as she could.

The sound of a baby's cry bloomed and harmonica exhaled as the pain in her body died out, only left with relief.

''It's a boy.'' The doctor said, smiling as she handed the baby to the nurse for cleanup.

Tears pooled at the brim of harmonica's eyes as she watched the nurse bring back her baby and lay him on her arms. She caressed his little head, a smile gracing her lips. ''My little berry is a boy'' She whispered, sleep already taking over her.

''We would need him to be in an incubator for a while. He's a bit small'' The doctor said, stretching her hands to take the baby and harmonica nodded, handing him over to her even though she didn't want to.

''What is his name?'' The doctor asked again, smiling as she stared down at the little angel.

''Zade. My little berry…'' she answered, her eyes finally closing from exhaustion.

By the time harmonica's eyes fluttered open, it was already midnight and she had been wheeled into a hospital room.

An IV was tied around her arm and she looked up to see Romano—Lucas's brother smiling down at her.

''I see you got it out of you.'' Romano smiled, gesturing to her stomach that had flattened down a little.

''It?!'' She laughed. Throughout the remaining 6months of her pregnancy, she had been staying with him.

After the phone call they had, he had told her about the plans his father had for her.

She had always been indebted to Mr stone so she had quickly taken the offer, hoping it would make him rest easy in his grave.

And also, coming to amstardem meant she would never see Lucas again. Forgetting about him had been really hard but she had been pulling it off just fine.

''Do you want us to go see the baby together?'' Harmonica asked, staring at Romano.

He rarely ever spoke a word. He just nodded, helped her out of the bed and into a wheel chair before wheeling her to the neonatal intensive care unit to see the baby.

When they got there, they both saw the baby through the glass as they were not allowed to go in. As harmonica was smiling, her eyes met the TV and her smile faltered.

It was a news about Lucas and Rita's wedding.
