Chapter 3 - The bar

Callie's POV

After a long journey I wanted nothing more than to slip into bed with a hot meal. But I didn't have that option. I entered the bus stations bathroom, the smell of stale urine suffocated me.

I moved fast, setting my bags down by the sinks and looking at my reflection, I began to get to work.

I needed to make myself presentable to meet Levi the bar manager so I could secure myself work. Another step closer to that warm bed and money to fund me through another year of collage.

Once finished I stared back at my reflection, a feeling of calm washed over me and I felt that stir inside me again, suddenly I notice a flash of gold in my eyes, disappearing as quickly as it came.. my mind must be playing tricks on me.

Leaving the bus station I began on foot, following the map on my phone. After walking through the quiet town I finally made it too my destination.

DeathShadow Bar.

The building looked sophisticated, the crescent moon emblem hung slightly glowing in the evening above the door. Giving it an erie feel. The door was closed so I knocked and waited.

"Can I help you" and woman's voice came through the door.

"Um hi, my names Callie, I have an email from Levi to meet here about a job" I replied.

A long pause. The door opened smoothly revealing a breathtaking blonde woman.

I gawked, her legs were long and slender, curves in all the right places like she'd stepped straight off a cat walk.

"Hi I'm Jaz, nice to meet you! Come on in I'll give you the tour"- the woman spoke excitedly.

"Thank you"

When I stepped through the door I had to stop my jaw from hitting the floor. The interioir was regal and sophisticated, high ceiling hung with chandeliers, table booths with red velet lined seats. Dead center at the back of the room, a stage with heavy black curtains hung either side.

"Woah" I breathed

"It's even more beautiful at night" Jaz winked.

"What is the stage for? Do you have live music?" I asked skeptically

"It's for us silly!" Jaz giggled excitedly

I froze. My palms began to sweat. Had I made a mistake coming here?

"I thought the job entailed bar work" I asked shakily.

"Oh it does.. mostly. But if you want to make more money then that stage will be your best friend. We're a berlesque club! Don't worry no one will expect you to get up on your first night, but once you see the others.. how dominating and sexy they appear on stage" she giggled "you'll want nothing more than to give it a go"

" I think I'll stick to the bar thank you" I said matter of factly.

Jaz continued to show me around the bar and to the dressing room where she handed me a uniform.

"Your shift starts at 9, feel free to go home and get some rest, we have a busy night ahead, Saturdays are always packed!" Jaz said excitedly

I paused and shifted on my feet… I didn't have anywhere to go.

"I don't mind starting now, getting everything set up" I suggested

Jaz eyed me briefly.

"You don't have anywhere to stay do you?"

I sighed -" not until I make some money, I've just left collage for summer break"

Jaz smiled and reached out to my arm brushing it gently "you can stay with me, I have a sofa bed with your name on it!"

I was skeptical.

"But you don't know me and I don't have money to give you" Jaz cut me off putting her hand up " it's settled you're staying with me! Gather your things we will head there now"
