Chapter 2 - Re-entry

Alex POV – Above Earth, Reentry Point

The sun is behind me.

Earth sprawls below me.

And I'm ready to make one hell of an entrance.

There's a buzzing under my skin. Not pain—power. It's like my whole body is vibrating with energy, molecules screaming with anticipation. My muscles coil as I aim myself downward. The atmosphere stretches before me like a curtain, and I can't wait to tear through it.

I smirk.

"Time to clock in."

I dive.

Fire wraps around me. Sonic booms follow in rapid succession as I break every speed record ever set—twice over. Clouds burst apart. Commercial flights shake mid-air turbulence. Car alarms blare just from my sonic wake.

Yeah.

This is going to be fun.

Fury POV – S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, Over Manhattan

I was already motherf***ing stressed.

New York's under siege by alien lizard freaks flying hover-chariots. Banner's turning streets into a Hulk-sized demolition derby. And Thor? Thunder-boy's throwing lightning bolts like he's trying to win a damn carnival game.

And now Hill walks in with that look—the one that says "Sir, you're about to hate this."

"Talk," I say.

"We've got a fast-moving bogey headed straight for Manhattan. Human-sized. Coming in hot from low orbit."

I blink. "Define 'fast.'"

"MACH 20, sir."

I pause.

"No human survives that speed outside a coffin."

Hill doesn't flinch. "Sir, this one didn't just survive—he aimed for us."

"What country claims it?"

"None. And no nation has tech that small moving that fast. We caught one satellite frame before it blurred off the grid."

She taps a control. The holo-screen lights up.

And there it is.

A red-and-blue streak of light, cape fluttering, human silhouette wrapped in plasma fire. A literal comet in human form.

Fury narrows his eye.

"I didn't call her."

Hill glances at him. "Sir?"

He leans closer, staring at the image.

"He's not one of ours. Not Asgardian. Not enhanced."

A beat.

"Yet."

Alex POV – Seconds Before Impact

The skyline rises to meet me. The towers, the chaos, the fire—yeah, I see the alien invasion in full swing now. Giant metal serpents in the sky. Explosions everywhere. Civilians screaming.

And there, right in the middle of it all, are the so-called Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Gods. Geniuses. Monsters.

And I'm about to outshine them all. I angle myself like a missile and brace. Let's give the world a new headline:

"God lands in Manhattan."
