"Don't worry, I came here to end this war."
Leon heard this, his tone firm.
As firm as Rickshaw Boy declaring "I'm quitting the rickshaw-pullers' union" to four of his closest colleagues on a rainy night.
"I don't care if you believe me or not."
Leon gently laid Feixiao on the ground and picked up his two short swords again.
"But I am indebted to the Reignbow Arbiter. Under normal circumstances, neither my bow nor my blade would ever be aimed at the Xianzhou Alliance."
Leon said gently, "Now, can someone point me the way?"
"The way to where all the enemies are."
Leon delivered his famous line: "Where are the enemies? Point them out to me."
Combat, sweet!
"Indebted to the Reignbow Arbiter..."
Hearing this, Lingshang seemed to recall something. She subconsciously glanced at the blade in his hand; the aura it emitted was all too familiar to her.
Upon realizing his identity, the wariness in her eyes immediately turned to awe.
Whether it was the weapon in his hand or the way he spoke of his debt...
...it all pointed to him being an existence on the same level as the General of the Cloud Knights!
A newly ascended Emanator of The Hunt!
"Go straight north for about five hundred meters. That's the location of the great weapon, the Sky-Peering Mirror."
Lingshang suppressed her shock, pointed with her index finger, and spoke with a voice full of hope.
"Once the plan carried out by the Sky-Peering Mirror truly succeeds, the Denizens of Abundance will undoubtedly face a crushing defeat."
If there was anyone who could ensure their general's safety and end this war now, it was Leon.
"They also know what the Sky-Peering Mirror does, so they'll do everything in their power to stop it. More than half of their forces have rushed there."
"Alright."
Leon nodded and turned to leave.
"Oh, right."
Before he left, he paused his steps.
"Although you can call me 'Mr. Perfect,' my name is Leon."
With that, his figure vanished. A breeze stirred from nowhere, and a flash of cyan and purple light disappeared in an instant.
...
...
On the only path to the Sky-Peering Mirror.
Although the pilots of the Luofu are renowned, they were ultimately outmatched by the living beast-ships of the Borisin.
About fifteen or sixteen starskiffs had crashed here, their broken hulls scattered about. Their pilots were likely in no better shape.
"Caiyi! Caiyi!"
Her face bruised and her entire body covered in dust, Yukong held her dearest friend, crying out with choked sobs.
"Hang in there! Hold on! Rescue is on the way! Look at me! Don't close your eyes!"
Yukong felt the warmth of the friend in her arms fading and cried out anxiously.
Rescue would never come...
Deep down, she knew this well.
The current situation was unbelievably dire.
Not only were the remaining Borisin fleets lurking menacingly overhead, but the might of the Reignbow Arbiter was also about to descend!
With her starskiff destroyed, she, a pilot, was nothing without the sky!
With her abilities, she couldn't break through the encirclement with Caiyi. She couldn't even reach a medical base, let alone get her treated!
She could only watch helplessly as Caiyi died, completely powerless!!
"Yukong... run... The Reignbow Arbiter's arrow of light... is coming... If you don't run now, it'll be too late..."
The Foxian woman called Caiyi spoke intermittently, the light in her eyes gradually fading.
"Take care... of Qingni... for me... please..."
Caiyi tremblingly reached out her hand, regret filling her eyes.
"No! No! Qingni is still waiting for you to come back! Guangyuan is already dead! She really can't lose you too!"
Yukong squeezed her hand, the worry in her eyes nearly overflowing.
"Yukong..."
Caiyi forced a smile, her voice growing weaker.
"Go..."
After that last, barely audible word, her outstretched hand slipped from her friend's grasp and fell limply to the ground.
"Caiyi! Caiyi!"
Yukong froze for a moment before a cry of anguish escaped her lips.
Someone! Can someone save Caiyi!
She hung her head, clinging tightly to the cold body. Even though she knew it was impossible, her heart was still screaming wildly!
"Need some help?"
In her moment of grief, a pair of shoes entered Yukong's line of sight.
She stared blankly for a second, then looked up in disbelief. A man with a longbow on his back and a Fanghu banner tied to him was observing them with a "that's a really bad wound" expression on his face.
Before Yukong could even speak, a damaged beast-ship from the sky coincidentally chose that exact moment to land.
A dented hatch opened.
One after another, Borisin emerged, glaring at them menacingly.
"Please, soldier, my friend's life is in danger. Please take her to the medical camp immediately!"
Seeing this, Yukong quickly got up. Without a moment's hesitation, she placed Caiyi into the arms he had instinctively held out.
"I'll hold off these Borisin here to buy you some time! Go, quickly!"
Yukong urged him on, her face filled with anxiety.
Even though there were many questionable things about this man who had suddenly appeared, he was the only one she could trust now.
If Caiyi stayed with her, she would surely die,
With him, perhaps there was still a sliver of hope...
"She won't make it to the medical camp with this kind of wound."
She's about to breathe her last. By the time they get there, she'll be long gone.
The main problem was that Leon had no idea where the medical camp was.
"Then what else can we do? Are we supposed to stay here and die together?"
Yukong lowered her gaze, the balloon of hope that had just begun to inflate instantly deflating.
"Hmm..."
Leon surveyed the group of Borisin.
In the game, Abundance characters are healers. Since these werewolves are called Denizens of Abundance, they must have some healing abilities, right?
"I can help you, but I need your cooperation."
As he spoke, Leon handed Caiyi back to her.
"How do I cooperate?"
Yukong gave him a surprised look.
She truly didn't understand. They were completely surrounded; how could they save someone in this situation?
If she wasn't completely out of options, she would have normally just thought he was crazy and talking nonsense.
"Just follow my lead in a moment."
After saying that, Leon cleared his throat and shouted, "Hey buddies, are you Borisin the only ones around here or what?"
"Are you blind? Can't you see there are people here?"
"Couldn't you find somewhere else to land? Look at you! You've scared my partner here!"
As the man's deliberately serious voice rang out...
...every Borisin present felt a jolt in both mind and body, as if they were being controlled by a hypnosis app.
"Sorry, bro, I didn't notice. Should I leave now?" xN
The next second, all the Borisin on the scene scratched the backs of their heads sheepishly and said in unison.
"You called me 'bro,' so what else is there to say."
Leon held up a hand to stop them, replying magnanimously, "It's fine, I'll just find another spot."
As his words fell, he took Yukong's hand and walked forward.
Seeing this, the Borisin present hurriedly and voluntarily parted to the left and right, immediately clearing a wide path for the two of them.
And just like that, they broke through the encirclement in plain sight.
"?"
Yukong felt her brain completely overload.
Even her earlier sorrow had vanished. Right now, she just wondered if she was still dreaming.
He had only said a few words, so how did this group of Borisin act like a completely different species?
Were these the same ferocious Borisin from before?
What are you scratching your heads sheepishly for?!
Is that human-like apology on your faces something you're supposed to have?!
