Chapter 10 - Within the mind

After Anthea had invited Kai to sit in the chair opposite her, she activated her Heavenly Sight to probe the energy within him and see if he possessed the traits of a Chosen One.

"I'm going to use my Heavenly Sight to check your abilities," she said.

"Heavenly Sight, huh? Does it work the same way? On my journey, I met someone who claimed to have the same ability," Kai asked.

"The ability is similar—it lets you see from a distance—but what I'm using is my special power. I need to focus my gaze, and I can enter the person's mind to see whether they have power or not. I've rarely ever been wrong, so don't worry," Anthea reassured him.

"All right, go ahead," Kai replied.

Anthea gazed deep into Kai's mind, drifting through his consciousness.

"So this is what lies within… it's so dark and chaotic, yet oddly bright in places," she murmured.

As she floated through Kai's mind, a deafening chorus echoed, as if a million voices spoke at once. A figure of a young girl appeared, short pink hair, sparkling pink eyes, wearing a white T-shirt under a pink coat and a short pink skirt. She spoke sharply:

"How did you get in here? You think your sister's Heavenly Sight is stronger than mine? If you don't leave, you'll regret it!"

Then a young man with short black hair, wearing a dark blue T-shirt and black pants, appeared. "Get out! This isn't your place, kid," he said firmly.

Countless other beings emerged—dragons, giants, gods, demons—numbering in the millions, speaking in unison:

"Leave! Leave this place!"

A dark figure commanded, "This is no place for intruders like you. Go away!"

Anthea's eyes began bleeding in the real world, and she was violently expelled from Kai's mind, coughing up blood as if struck by a tremendous force.

"You possess an immense power. Even I cannot reach the deepest part of your mind. I only know that there are guardians protecting it—unlike ordinary people, whose minds I can easily probe," Anthea explained.

"So… that means I have power too?" Kai asked.

"Yes. You are a Chosen One," she affirmed.

"I'll personally teach you how to use your abilities… very well, we'll start tomorrow," Anthea said.

"Understood, Teacher. I look forward to learning from you," Kai replied.

From then on, Kai practiced meditation daily under Anthea's guidance, observing his own thoughts and returning focus to his breathing. Gradually, he reached a state of awakened consciousness.

"How do you feel today, Kai?" Anthea asked calmly, sipping her tea.

"I feel like I can sense things inside myself… and sometimes I can even communicate with people speaking other languages. It's like I understand strange languages instantly… something like that, Teacher," Kai explained.

"That's good. This is called awakened consciousness. It helps you perceive things faster and understand yourself better," Anthea said softly.

"Continue practicing this way, and your powers will come naturally," she advised.

"Just by practicing this, I'll gain power?" Kai asked, surprised.

"Yes. Once you truly know yourself, you will discover the power hidden within," Anthea reassured him.

Kai practiced every day for three months.

"It's been about three months… why don't I feel any unusual power yet?" Kai wondered, stopping his practice. He left the massive fortress, thinking to himself:

"I've had enough for today. Maybe I'll take a walk and see if there's anything interesting outside the fortress."

As Kai wandered outside, Anthea's gaze floated high above, watching him carefully at all times.
