One unbreakable promise. > > Takahiro Kurogane and Sung Jin‑Woo grew up side‑by‑side in the backstreets of Seoul — one a brilliant tactician who could turn anything into a strategy, the other a quiet protector who would take any hit to shield a friend. Years ago, they made a vow: “We face everything together — no matter what.” > > That vow is tested in the infamous Double Dungeon, where death is certain and escape is impossible. When the statues close in, they choose not to run. In that final moment, two separate cosmic entities intervene — gifting them twin systems unlike anything the world has ever seen. > > Now, as the Shadow Monarch rises and the Architect of Realities bends the laws of existence, their bond becomes the key to rewriting fate itself. Together, they will walk the same path as in the original story… but every choice they make will ripple outward, saving lives that were once lost — and drawing the attention of powers that were never meant to notice them. > > But in a world where every victory changes the future, one question remains: > If you could rewrite destiny… how far would you go to keep your promise?

Chapter 1 - Chapter One – The Promise in Stone

The air inside the stone chamber was heavy, thick with the scent of dust and something older — a weight that pressed against the skin. Torches burned along the walls, their flames casting long shadows over two perfect rows of statues. Warriors with blades, priests with instruments, kings with crowns — each carved in flawless detail, each watching.

Takahiro Kurogane's eyes swept the room, cataloguing every detail. Beside him, Sung Jin‑Woo shifted uneasily, his gaze flicking from one statue to the next.

"This place…" Jin‑Woo murmured. "It's wrong."

Takahiro didn't answer. He could feel it too — the stillness that wasn't still, the silence that wasn't empty.

The massive stone doors slammed shut behind them with a sound like the end of the world.

"What the hell—?!" Kim Sang‑Shik spun toward the sealed exit, pounding on it with his fists.

The first guardian moved.

A sword the size of a tree trunk came down in a single, devastating arc, cutting through three hunters. Panic erupted. The hammer‑wielding statue crushed another before he could scream.

"Kneel!" Song Chi‑Yul's voice rang out, sharp and commanding.

Takahiro dropped instantly, pulling Jin‑Woo down with him. The guardians froze, weapons hovering inches from flesh.

"What's going on?!" someone shouted.

"Don't move!" Song barked. "If you move, they attack!"

The survivors knelt in terrified silence. The guardians returned to their places.

Then the music began.

The statues with instruments played a deep, resonant melody. Hunters who stopped moving were struck down without mercy.

"Move!" Song shouted again. "Don't stop moving!"

They ran, weaving between the giants, lungs burning, hearts pounding. Joohee clung to Jin‑Woo's arm, her face pale with fear.

"Don't let go!" Jin‑Woo urged her, his own voice tight.

Takahiro kept pace beside them, eyes darting to track the statues' movements, guiding them through narrow gaps.

When the music stopped, the altar at the far end of the hall lit up.

"What now?!" Kim Sang‑Shik's voice cracked.

"Offerings!" Song barked. "Magic stones — now!"

They scrambled to obey, tossing stones into the bowls. The light grew brighter.

The giant statue pointed. One by one, it ordered the survivors to leave.

When it pointed to Jin‑Woo, he didn't move.

"I'm not leaving you," he said to Takahiro.

The statue pointed to Takahiro next. He stayed where he was.

"Go!" Takahiro shouted to the others. "Get them out!"

Song's face was grim. "You fools…" But he herded the others toward the open doors.

Joohee's eyes filled with tears. "Jin‑Woo—"

"Go!" Jin‑Woo barked, forcing a smile he didn't feel.

The last of the survivors fled. The doors closed.

The giant statue's eyes flared red.

The Last Stand

They fought. Takahiro's blade flashed, Jin‑Woo's dagger darted in and out, but the guardians were relentless.

A hammer caught Jin‑Woo in the ribs, lifting him off his feet. He hit the ground hard, coughing blood.

"Taka—!"

A spear punched through Takahiro's chest. Pain exploded, his vision narrowing.

They collapsed side by side, blood pooling beneath them.

"Together," Jin‑Woo gasped.

"Always," Takahiro breathed.

The Choice

The world froze. The sound of stone faded to nothing.

Above Takahiro, golden runes spiraled into a vast, shifting codex. Before Jin‑Woo, a translucent blue window appeared, glowing with text.

Two voices spoke at once — one deep and resonant, the other sharp and crystalline:

[System Initialization: Architect's Codex]

[System Initialization: Player System]

[Quest: Courage of the Weak – Accept?]

[Directive: Rewrite Reality – Accept?]

Jin‑Woo thought of his mother, his sister, of the promise he'd made to protect them. Takahiro thought of the night under the streetlamp, the handshake, the words: We face everything together.

"Yes," they both whispered.

Light and shadow swallowed them whole.

The weapons fell.

The Hospital

Takahiro's eyes opened to a white ceiling. The steady beep of a heart monitor filled the room.

Beside him, Jin‑Woo stirred. Their eyes met.

They had died.

And now, they had returned.
