On the day the ominous event was said to take place, Olowokere invited his children, and his two wives who lived at different locations to his residence. He told them to come to his residence that there was a family meeting and it would take a maximum of 24 hours, a day precisely. He declared an ultimatum:
"This is an inheritance meeting where I will be distributing my assets fairly, and those who do not come will not be given any of my assets. And you must all be here before 7: 00 am promptly in the morning. The meeting will take place for 24 hours, and you will leave immediately in the next day morning."
Upon hearing this, all his children came his residence, and eventually the second and third wives. The children lived in Ibadan with their father, but in different locations, where their father's five companies were also located. The children were bewildered as to why their father had called for an inheritance meeting out of the blue.
As the sun rose over the grand estate, the family members began to arrive, their faces filled with mix of curiosity and apprehension. The second and third wives were both dressed in a high-costume outfits, it was as if they were going to a party. And their eyes wide with excitement.
"Opeyemi, Olowokere's first born, and Ayomide, Olowokere's second born and eldest daughter, both drove up in their sleek cars, their expression unreadable."
"Adeola and Gabriel, Olowokere's second and third sons, both arrived in their luxury cars, with their faces etched with bewildering expressions."
"Yetunde, Olowokere's second daughter and last born of the family, arrived in her beautiful new-model car, her attire shinning like the stars."
"Emmanuel, the loyal secretary of Olowokere, stood at the entrance, his eyes scanning the arrivals with a knowing glint."
As the clock struck 7am, Olowokere emerged from the main house, his imposing figure commanding attention;
"Welcome, my dear family," he boomed, his voice firm but laced with a hint of sadness. "Today, we gather here to settle the future of our legacy. I have called you all here to ensure a fair distribution of my assets, but also to reveal secrets that have been hidden for long. Before I continue, I want you all to bring out your smartphones, laptops, and smart wristwatches, and give it to Emmanuel, my secretary, he will keep it for you until tomorrow morning. You do not have to worry about it, as he will be here before 7am tomorrow morning."
Their phones, laptops, and smart wristwatches were collected by Emmanuel and he left with the gadgets immediately. The doors had been locked, and no one could go out, as the keys were in Emmanuel's possession as per Olowokere's order.
The family exchanged nervous glances, sensing that this meeting would be unlike any other.
Yetunde was the first to questioned her father; "Dad, what is going on? Why are we here and what are you talking about?"
Olowokere then replied, "Yes, that is a good and excellent question, my dear daughter. The main reason I called you here today was to tell you something intriguing and mystefied."
Opeyemi asked his father out of curiosity, "And what could that be, dad?"
Olowokere, "Yes, that is another great question. Someone will try to kill me tonight and it is among you," said scaredly.
His children and wives replied and shouted that who could be trying to kill Olowokere among them, and why was he suspicious of them. However, he told them to calm down and relaxed, as the masterminds behind the assassination and the accomplices would be caught today, either mid-night or at night, he said.
He told his children that he dismissed his security guards because he trusted his children would guarded and protected him from any danger tonight.
He told them to move to their beloved rooms and stayed there until further notice. They all dismissed and went to their rooms. Olowokere had dismissed his security guards beforehand and eventually Emmanuel, his secretary had left the residence too, it remained only him, his children, and three wives. The children were all curious, bewildered, and so eventually were the wives.
