Unbeknownst to Adeola, Gabriel, and their accomplices that the police had laid in an ambush in their father's secret room, which was next to the room they were in. They were caught off guard, the Heavens were not on their side, but still, they entertained nonsensical thoughts and hopes. The starving lion, with his emaciated frame and piercing gaze, laid in wait ready to pounce, and eventually, they entered the ferocious lion's den and were ultimately eaten up by the beast.
Just as Adeola was about to pull the trigger, the police burst into the room, guns drawn.
"Freeze! Put your hands up!" they shouted.
The assassins were arrested and the one standing guard outside the mansion was shot dead because he resisted. Adeola and Gabriel were arrested by the police that night, the other children were astonished and bewildered as to why Adeola and Gabriel would attempt to murder their father.
Upon seeing the event that occurred, their mother fainted, and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Initially, she was unaware of the heinous scheme her children were plotting, but now that she had witnessed it, she fainted immediately.
Olowokere annulled his marriage to his second wife, the mother of Adeola and Gabriel. However, he did not reclaim the apartment and cars he had purchased for her during their union, demonstrating the character of a gentleman and loving husband.
Following the apprehension, Adeola and Gabriel were taken into custody and transported to the police station, where they faced the consequences of their actions. The police charged them with multiple felonies, including attempted murder, obstruction of justice, burglary, conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms.
In a shocking display of rejection, Olowokere publicly disavowed them, proclaiming to the authorities,
"They are not my sons; they are my non-biological children, and I renounce all ties with them," he firmly declared and his words echoed through the station, leaving no doubt about his stance.
Subsequently, the two brothers were found guilty and sentenced to a lengthy term of 20 years imprisonment, a punishment fitting their egregious crimes.
