Organizer:
"Madan! Stick to the script!"
Madan (dramatically):
"Rakhumai! I may be tied with a rope of butter, but I shall steal every heart!"
He spins with his flute and flirts with every girl playing his wife. Neha watches from the audience, facepalming, while Vaidehi secretly smiles.
Child in audience:
"Is this Krishna… or Krishna's cousin from Netflix?"
Apartment corridor. Madan sneaks in after a late-night chat with Neha.
Mrs. Padma (emerging from nowhere):
"Madan! It's 11:17 PM. Whose window were you whispering under?"
Madan (pretending to be shocked):
"Window? Aunty, I was… feeding the stray cows."
Mrs. Padma:
"Oh please. I saw your shoes near Jyothi's balcony last week also."
Madan (gasps):
"Aunty! You're tracking my shoes?!"
Mrs. Padma (whipping out a notebook):
"Page 4, Madan. I've listed all your visits. Even Krishna would say 'enough!'"
The soft hum of devotional music fills the air at another youth meetup. This time, the atmosphere is more serene, with people sitting in circles, discussing spiritual concepts and chanting together. Madan enters, casually strolling in as usual, wearing his signature grin.
Madan (thinking to himself):
"Another day, another crowd. Let's see if I can stir up some fun today."
As Madan surveys the room, his eyes fall on Vaidehi, who is sitting on a mat, absorbed in a deep conversation with a few other devotees. She's dressed simply in a white saree with a small Krishna pendant around her neck, her calm aura a stark contrast to Madan's usual energy.
Madan (whispering to himself):
"She doesn't look like the type to fall for my usual charm..."
He walks closer, casually interrupting their conversation with his usual playful swagger.
Madan (with a charming smile):
"Excuse me, ladies, but I couldn't help but notice that the most beautiful soul in the room is sitting all the way in the back. How could I have missed that?"
Vaidehi glances up, her eyes calm but full of intelligence, as if already seeing through his act. She doesn't immediately smile, and Madan is caught off guard by her composed presence.
Vaidehi (softly):
"I wasn't aware Krishna's devotees came with such bold lines."
Madan (grinning widely):
"Ah, but Krishna's devotees are also full of life! It's all about spreading joy... and maybe a little mischief."
Vaidehi's eyes meet his, and for a moment, there's an unspoken understanding between them. It's not a flirtatious glance, but something deeper, more introspective. Madan is intrigued.
Madan (sitting down beside her, trying to maintain his usual bravado):
"You know, I think Krishna himself would be jealous of your calmness. I've seen many faces, but none like yours. You must have a special connection with Him."
Vaidehi (without skipping a beat):
"It's not about Krishna being jealous, Madan. He doesn't need our validation. We need His love, His grace."
Her words strike Madan like a wave, and he finds himself uncharacteristically speechless for a moment. The mischievous grin fades, replaced by genuine curiosity.
Madan (softly):
"You're different from anyone I've met before."
Vaidehi looks at him, her gaze thoughtful, almost as if she's weighing his soul.
Vaidehi:
"Different is a relative term, Madan. I've learned that it's not about who we meet or how we act. It's about what we do with the time we have. You seem... lost in your own world. But maybe there's more to you than this charade."
Madan feels a pang of something unfamiliar, something he hasn't felt before. Vaidehi's calmness, her strength, the way she sees through his act… It disarms him.
Madan (almost nervously):
"Maybe I've been looking for something... or someone to challenge me. You seem to be that person."
Vaidehi smiles faintly, her eyes not mocking, but understanding.
Vaidehi:
"You can't find peace by running, Madan. You have to face what's inside you first."
Her words linger in his mind long after she's spoken them. For the first time, Madan isn't sure of himself,he's not the confident flirt he usually is. He's just... Madan. And for some reason, Vaidehi is making him question everything.
Madan sits at a café, casually sipping on his coffee. He's looking around, his usual charm making him seem at ease in the busy environment. Suddenly, Neha walks in, and his eyes immediately lock on her. She's not just beautiful, but also confident and independent, everything Madan loves, and yet, there's something different about her. The way she carries herself is not easily swayed by his usual banter.
Madan grins, standing up as she walks toward him, his usual flirtation coming to the forefront.
Madan (with a playful smile):
"Ah, if it isn't the most beautiful girl in Hyderabad. How do you manage to look this stunning every day?"
Neha rolls her eyes, unimpressed by the line, but there's a glimmer of amusement in her gaze.
Neha (sitting down, crossing her arms):
"Spare me the compliments, Madan. I've heard them all before. You think every woman is enchanted by your charm?"
Madan (laughing):
"I don't know… are you enchanted? Because I'm beginning to think there's something special about you."
Neha raises an eyebrow, taking in his words with a smile that's as much playful as it is knowing.
Neha:
"You're not the first man to say that, you know. But, you might be the first one to actually mean it."
Madan pauses, caught off guard by her statement. He's not used to anyone seeing through his usual act so quickly.
Madan (leaning in slightly, more serious now):
"I do mean it. You're different from anyone I've met."
Neha looks at him, her gaze softening but still guarded.
Neha:
"Everyone's different, Madan. You're just looking for someone who fits the version of love you have in your head. But love's not a game. It's about connection, real connection."
Madan (chuckling lightly):
"Well, that sounds too serious for me. I like to keep things light… but I can't help it if you keep drawing me in."
Neha glances at him, genuinely curious, her eyes holding a mix of skepticism and warmth.
Neha:
"I don't want to be a game, Madan. But I'm beginning to wonder if maybe... you're more than just the guy who cracks jokes. You seem like you're running from something."
Madan stares at her for a moment, her words piercing deeper than he expected. He's never been called out so directly before.
Madan (softly, after a pause):
"I don't know. Maybe I am running... but I don't know what from."
Neha's smile is kind, but there's still a sense of distance in her eyes, as if she knows more than she's letting on.
Neha:
"Maybe it's time you stop running. Maybe it's time you figure out what it is you want, before you end up chasing two things you can't have."
Her words linger in the air between them, leaving Madan both unsettled and intrigued. He's always been the one in control, but for the first time, Neha makes him feel vulnerable, something he's not used to.
Madan (almost to himself):
"Two things I can't have… huh."
Neha stands up, ready to leave, but turns back one last time.
Neha:
"Figure it out, Madan. But be careful with your heart. It's not as easy to win as you think."
Madan watches her leave, his mind spinning. In that moment, he realizes that he's not just infatuated with her, there's something deeper, something real. And the feelings he has for both Neha and Vaidehi are starting to conflict in ways he didn't anticipate.
Park bench. Madan and Chintu plan a "flawless" romantic evening.
Chintu (reading notes):
"Step 1: Say the same line to both girls… Step 2: Take them to the same cafe on alternate days…"
Madan:
"It's not cheating if I call it multitasking."
Ramesh Anna (passing by):
"Madan! Even Krishna didn't try this in Dilsukhnagar!"
Madan:
"But Krishna had eight wives!"
Ramesh Anna:
"And he had divine powers. You? You can't even lie without stammering!"
Chintu nods. Madan sighs dramatically, "This is why I need divine help."
Night on the terrace of a guest house during a wedding function. The city buzzes below. Fairy lights hang above. Vaidehi leans against the railing, looking at the stars. Madan walks up beside her.
Madan (smiling):
"What are you thinking about, Miss Mystery?"
Vaidehi (smirks):
"You wouldn't get it. You're too busy charming the world."
Madan:
"Try me."
Vaidehi (after a pause):
"Do you ever feel like… you're meant for something bigger? But you're also scared of it?"
Madan (softly):
"Like what?"
Vaidehi:
"I grew up hearing stories of Sita, Rukmini, Meera… women who loved so deeply it became their identity. But today? We're told to be strong. Independent. Detached. Sometimes, I feel caught in between."
Madan listens, genuinely for the first time.
Vaidehi (turns to him):
"I don't want a fairy tale. I want a journey. Someone to walk beside me , not ahead, not behind. Just… beside. Through mess, madness, everything."
Madan (quietly):
"Even if that someone is a little mad?"
Vaidehi (laughs softly):
"Only if he's willing to grow up… a little."
She walks a few steps ahead, leaving Madan alone, thoughtful, the moment sinking into him.
Madan stands at the edge of the rooftop, looking out over the city. The sky is a warm orange as the sun sets. He's deep in thought, wrestling with his feelings for both Vaidehi and Neha. His usual carefree attitude is replaced by a strange seriousness as he contemplates his next move.
Suddenly, both Vaidehi and Neha walk in, each unaware of the other's presence. Madan smiles to himself, knowing exactly what he's about to do.
Madan (turning to face them, his grin back):
"Ah, the two most beautiful women in my life, standing before me."
Vaidehi and Neha exchange glances, not entirely sure what's going on. They've both felt the tension in the air, but neither of them expected Madan to bring them both together like this.
Neha (narrowing her eyes, curious):
"What's going on, Madan? Why did you call us here?"
Madan (smiling with mischief but also sincerity):
"I've been thinking a lot... about life, about love. And, well, about Krishna."
Vaidehi's gaze sharpens at the mention of Krishna, and Neha folds her arms, already sensing that Madan is up to something.
Vaidehi (calmly):
"Krishna... What does he have to do with this?"
Madan (looking at both of them, confidently):
"Everything. You see, Krishna is the ultimate example of love, right? He loved all his queens, his gopis... and he did so without being bound by the limitations of society. He loved freely, without judgment. And I've realized... I've fallen in love with both of you."
Vaidehi and Neha exchange a surprised look, their expressions a mixture of disbelief and curiosity.
Madan (walking toward them, his tone earnest):
"I know what you're thinking. You must be wondering, 'How can he love both?' But Krishna showed us that love isn't a competition. It's not about choosing. It's about connecting with each person in a unique way. I don't want to choose between you. I want both of you in my life. Like Krishna, who never denied his love to anyone, why should I?"
Vaidehi takes a step back, her eyes filled with a mix of confusion and skepticism. Neha looks at him, her expression unreadable.
Neha (shaking her head, laughing softly):
"Madan, you can't just compare yourself to Krishna. His love was divine,it wasn't about possession. It was about selflessness. You... You're talking about selfishness."
Madan (slightly taken aback but standing firm):
"No! That's not what I mean. Krishna's love was all-encompassing, without limits. He didn't settle for one person; he embraced everyone who truly loved him. I'm not asking you to share me as some kind of game. I'm offering you my heart, completely. And just like Krishna, I'll love both of you... in different ways."
Vaidehi steps forward now, her eyes intense.
Vaidehi (with a calm but firm voice):
"Love is not a game, Madan. It's not about collecting hearts. It's about understanding, sacrifice, and devotion. If you truly believe in Krishna's teachings, you'd know that his love was about giving, not taking."
Madan (gently):
"I am giving, Vaidehi. I'm offering you both everything I have."
Neha, still processing everything, finally speaks, her voice softer but with an edge of finality.
Neha:
"Madan, what you're asking is impossible. You can't love two people in the same way and expect it to work. Love is about commitment, and you're talking about spreading yourself thin. You need to choose what's real."
Madan looks at them both, his mind racing. He realizes that his attempt to model his life after Krishna's divine love has backfired. The two women, strong and independent, aren't fooled by his charm or his justifications.
Madan (taking a deep breath, his tone softer):
"I thought Krishna's love was the answer. But maybe... maybe I'm wrong. I was trying to live up to an ideal, without understanding the true depth of it."
There's a long pause as both Vaidehi and Neha take in Madan's words. For the first time, Madan, no longer the confident, carefree flirt, but a man realizing that love isn't as simple as he thought.
Neha (softly):
"Love is about choice, Madan. It's about understanding the person you love and making a commitment to them. It's not about dividing yourself, it's about giving your whole heart to one person."
