Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

At the altar, Madan stands, dressed in traditional wedding attire, his heart filled with a mix of joy, anticipation, and a deep sense of reverence. He looks at the two women who stand before him,Neha and Vaidehi, both radiating beauty and grace, though their expressions are different. Neha looks at Madan with a quiet, contemplative gaze, while Vaidehi's eyes hold a soft, forgiving warmth. It is clear that their emotions are mixed, and there is still a lingering sense of uncertainty in the air.

Madan stands tall, his heart filled with the love Krishna has given him, but he also knows that the journey ahead will not be easy. Love cannot be controlled, and he must prove himself worthy of this blessing.

Madan (in a soft, determined voice):

"Neha... Vaidehi... I have been given a great gift today. But this is not just about me. It is about all of us. We have come together, not through force or desire, but through the divine grace of Krishna. We are here to learn how to love, to understand each other, and to walk this path together."

Neha and Vaidehi both exchange glances, their expressions softening. There is still a sense of hesitation, but it is clear that they are open to the possibility of love in a way that they were not before.

As the ceremony begins, the priest chants sacred mantras, and Madan places a garland around each of the women, symbolizing their union. The sound of the conch shell fills the air, and the atmosphere becomes even more divine, as if the heavens themselves are witnessing this sacred moment.

Madan (to Neha and Vaidehi, with deep sincerity):

"Both of you have been a part of my journey, and I vow to cherish you, to understand you, and to love you as best as I can. I may not be perfect, but I promise to always seek the love that Krishna has shown us. I will strive to be worthy of this blessing."

The ceremony proceeds with the sacred rituals, and as the final rites are performed, Madan, Neha, and Vaidehi exchange vows of unity. There is a sense of calm, as if the love they share is now guided by divine wisdom. The wedding is completed, and Madan feels a sense of fulfillment, though he knows that the true test of his commitment is yet to come.

The evening draws to a close, and the newlyweds stand together, hand in hand, under the starry sky. The divine light of Krishna shines upon them, a reminder that their journey of love and devotion has just begun.

The sun is setting over the city, casting a warm, golden hue on the horizon. The gentle breeze flows through the open windows of Madan's home, carrying with it the sweet scent of blooming jasmine. In the living room, Madan is sitting on a plush couch, casually chatting with Neha and Vaidehi. Laughter fills the air as they share stories and playful jests.

Madan leans back, relaxed and content, as Neha and Vaidehi sit on either side of him. There is a comfortable ease between them now, a lightness that comes with understanding and affection. Neha playfully nudges Madan as she speaks.

Neha (with a teasing smile):

"Madan, I swear you have a new story for every day. Are you sure you're not making them up?"

Madan (grinning mischievously):

"Why would I make them up? The truth is always stranger than fiction, my dear."

Vaidehi, laughing softly, leans in closer to Madan and nudges him back with a mock frown.

Vaidehi (playfully):

"Careful, Madan. You might be too charming for your own good. You'll have us both falling for you even more."

Madan chuckles and looks from one wife to the other, his heart filled with affection. He places an arm around each of them, drawing them in closer as they sit together on the couch.

Madan (in a soft, affectionate tone):

"I don't need to do much to make you fall for me. You already have."

Both Neha and Vaidehi smile warmly at him, their eyes sparkling with affection. There's a quiet but palpable connection between the three of them, a bond built on love, trust, and mutual respect.

Neha (with a playful glint in her eyes):

"I suppose you're right. But you're lucky we're so forgiving, Madan."

Vaidehi (laughing lightly):

"Yes, if it weren't for us being so kind-hearted, you'd have a hard time getting away with all your teasing."

Madan grins widely, clearly enjoying the playful banter. He gently pulls them both closer, and they rest against him, their heads on his shoulders as they share this peaceful moment.

Madan (softly, with a smile):

"Life's too short to take too seriously, don't you think? With you both by my side, I can't help but feel like the luckiest man alive."

Neha and Vaidehi both share a tender glance, and their expressions soften with affection. They rest quietly for a moment, simply enjoying each other's company.

Neha (gently):

"And we're lucky to have you, Madan. You've brought joy and laughter into our lives."

Vaidehi (with a smile):

"Together, we make this journey beautiful."

The three of them sit together in companionable silence, basking in the warmth of their connection. The evening passes with lighthearted conversations and quiet moments of affection, a reminder that love, when shared in this way, is its own form of peaceful bliss.

At first, everything seems perfect in Madan's life. He divides his time between Neha and Vaidehi, balancing his attention with the same charm and enthusiasm he had when they first married. However, over time, subtle issues begin to arise.

One evening, Madan is late returning home after work. Both Neha and Vaidehi have been waiting for him, and both have planned their evenings together, expecting his presence. He arrives to find Neha preparing dinner and Vaidehi sitting in the living room reading a book. Neither is upset directly, but the tension is palpable.

Neha (gently but with a hint of disappointment):

"Madan, we were waiting for you. I thought we were supposed to have dinner together tonight."

Vaidehi (with a small smile, but an edge of concern):

"It's okay, Madan. But you promised to spend time with us both. We've been missing you."

Madan looks between them, guilt beginning to rise in his chest. He had spent the evening handling work and various tasks, but it's clear that he is failing to give both of them the attention they need.

Madan (sighing, with a half-smile):

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to disappoint you both. It's just been one of those days..."

The night passes quietly, but the underlying strain in the atmosphere grows. The once easygoing balance between his two wives now feels fragile. Madan can feel the subtle shift in their attitudes, neither is outright angry, but there's an unspoken distance growing between them.

A few days later, Madan feels it more strongly. Neha seems more withdrawn, and Vaidehi is quieter than usual. Their once lively conversations are now replaced by moments of uncomfortable silence. They both want Madan's attention, but he's stretched thin, and he begins to notice that they're growing more distant, not out of malice but out of the quiet realization that they're not getting what they need emotionally.

One evening, Madan comes home to find Neha sitting by the window, looking out at the stars. Vaidehi is in the kitchen, humming softly as she prepares a meal. Madan goes to Neha first, noticing the way her eyes are distant.

Madan (softly):

"Neha, is everything okay?"

Neha (without turning to him):

"Everything's fine, Madan. Don't worry about me. But I think you've been worrying about everyone but yourself."

Madan stands still, not sure how to respond. He's been giving so much of himself to keep up with both his wives, but he hasn't stopped to consider his own emotional state. He knows something is wrong, but he's not sure where to begin.

He moves into the kitchen, where Vaidehi greets him with a half-smile.

Vaidehi (playfully, but with a hint of sadness):

"You're finally home, Madan. I thought you'd forgotten us."

Madan forces a smile, but there's a growing unease inside him. The playful tone doesn't mask the sadness in her eyes.

Madan (quietly):

"I haven't forgotten either of you, I promise."

But deep down, Madan realizes the truth. He is losing the balance he once had. His life, which seemed so perfect when he married both Neha and Vaidehi, now feels chaotic and difficult to manage. The pressure of keeping both women happy, not letting them feel neglected, is slowly beginning to overwhelm him.

As time goes on, small conflicts start to emerge. One evening, Neha and Vaidehi are having a casual conversation when they unintentionally find themselves competing for Madan's attention. Neha is talking about an upcoming trip they could take together, while Vaidehi is discussing a personal project she's working on.

Neha (enthusiastically):

"I've been planning for us to go on a weekend getaway. Just the three of us, somewhere peaceful. What do you think, Madan?"

Vaidehi (interjecting):

"That sounds nice, Neha, but I thought we could spend some time together at home this weekend. I have a few things I'd like to show you, Madan."

The two of them glance at each other, realizing they're both vying for Madan's attention. A brief silence falls over the room as Madan feels the weight of their unspoken competition. He can feel the tension rising, but he's unsure how to resolve it.

Madan (hesitant):

"I... I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I just wanted to make you both happy."

The tension hangs in the air, and Madan feels like he's being pulled in two different directions. Both Neha and Vaidehi want his attention, but the more they fight for it, the more he begins to see the cracks forming in their relationship. He realizes that love isn't just about passion and desire,it's about the difficult work of meeting each other's needs, emotionally and physically. And he hasn't been doing that well.

Late one night, after another quiet dinner where Madan has tried (and failed) to make both of his wives feel appreciated, he sits alone in the living room. The house feels too big, the silence too loud. His thoughts are racing, and for the first time since his marriages, he feels truly alone.

He reflects on how everything seemed so simple when he was with each of them individually, but now, the reality of balancing both of their lives has become increasingly difficult. He wonders if this is what true love means, learning the hard way about the limits of one's capacity to give.

After weeks of feeling the pressure of managing both relationships, Neha and Vaidehi decide to take matters into their own hands. Rather than continue vying for Madan's attention in a tense, indirect way, they each plan their own time with him, ensuring that he will have to choose between them, one at a time.

One afternoon, Madan comes home to find a note from Neha. It reads:

Neha (written note):

Madan, I've planned a special evening for just the two of us. I've reserved a table at that new restaurant you've been wanting to try. I think it's time we had some time alone together. Can't wait to see you later!

Madan smiles at the note, feeling a sense of warmth. He quickly checks his phone, only to find a message from Vaidehi.

Vaidehi (text message):

"Madan, I've been thinking we should do something fun together, just the two of us. I've planned a little surprise for tonight, dinner and a movie, if you're up for it. I know how much you love surprises. Let me know if you can make it."

Madan is caught in a moment of realization. Both of his wives have planned their own individual dates with him, each expecting his full attention. He is left with the difficult choice of who to spend the evening with, and the weight of the situation begins to sink in.

As the evening approaches, Madan is torn. He knows that if he spends time with one of them, the other will feel neglected. Both Neha and Vaidehi have made it clear that they want this time alone with him, but they haven't coordinated their plans. Madan tries to think of a way to juggle both, but soon realizes it's impossible. Each of them is hoping to reconnect in a special, personal way.

He decides to start with Neha, knowing she's been feeling a little distant lately, and sends her a quick message.
