Frieza's forehead already had veins throbbing as he heard the judgment of the three.
'Damn monkeys! Who do they think they are to judge me?'
He was about to erupt with his Ki and teach these lowlifes a lesson, but a terrifying aura locked onto him instantly.
His eyes narrowed to slits, and his erupting Ki was forcefully erased. It was the first time his Ki had ever been removed so easily.
He shifted his eyes toward the center of the podium instinctively.
At that moment, the Emperor of the Cosmos felt an emotion that he was extremely familiar with.
Death!
The Guild Master of the Dragon Ball world held an expressionless face as he stared at him. Any thoughts of resistance vanished from Frieza's mind.
The other kings did not notice anything else as this small interlude happened.
Aizen Sosuke placed his hands on the armrest and supported his head with the same smile he had carried from the start.
"Cosmic Emperor Frieza, huh. Your lifestyle is very, very amusing to me. Born at the top of the food chain to become the Emperor of the Cosmos, toying with races along the way without hesitation. I admire it a lot. But I have to say, for a king candidate, this is rather underwhelming, no?"
"Your entire life, you knew there were higher forms of power, the so-called Gods of Destruction and Angels. But your entire ambition was snuffed out by simply knowing of their existence."
"There was not even a moment in your life when the thought of climbing up to their level or even above their level crossed your mind."
Aizen's smile remained polite.
"Guild Master, I thought I said I wanted to meet real 'kings' from across the worlds, not kings in name only. That God of Destruction should qualify more as a king candidate than this guy, no?"
Aizen still had that polite smile on his face, but the words coming from his mouth were anything but polite.
Each sentence was like a dagger cutting through Frieza's heart.
Forget about judging his life. This guy was saying he wasn't even qualified to be a king!
'Not king in name only? King in name?'
Frieza was already beyond his limits, but the Guild Master of his world was suppressing him directly, and no other king even realized it.
Meanwhile, Baron Nash had a difficult expression on his face as he heard Aizen's questions. He looked directly at Kitse with a pleading expression, as if to say, 'Help me.'
Kitse looked at Nash and decided that he needed to intervene in the conversation. After all, Nash was just a normal Ranger of the Nexus. He wasn't qualified to give information at this level to Aizen.
"You are correct. In a way, Beerus is indeed much more qualified than Frieza as a 'king.' But he wasn't invited to this event."
"Hmm?"
Even Frieza's interest was piqued as he heard Kitse's words.
"Normally, you would not be qualified to obtain information of this level. But I guess, as the commissioner of this event, I could let you guys know."
Kitse stood up as if he were about to give a lecture to a group of ignorant students.
"Not all worlds are considered equal by the Nexus. Even among the worlds, classifications exist to distinguish their levels. For now, you can separate the worlds into two: Mortal Worlds and Divine Worlds.
"If there are fewer than five Divine-level beings, or gods in your words, the world would be considered a Mortal World. Naturally, those exceeding that level would become Divine Worlds.
"In these Divine realms, the Nexus itself is divided into two: the Divine Branch and the Mortal Branch.
"The world of Aizen Sosuke has one being that has reached the level of Divinity, so it is a Mortal World. The Shinobi World, Hunter World, and Pirate World similarly belong to the standard of Mortal Worlds.
"Frieza's world is different.
"The number of Divine beings in that world is enough to rank the world at the pinnacle of the Divine realms.
"Since Aizen Sosuke, the commissioner of this mission, is a mortal from a Mortal World, this event was only distributed to the Mortal Branches of the various worlds.
"So even if Beerus is a more qualified 'king' than Frieza, he is ultimately a Divine being and a member of the Divine Branch of the Nexus. So he was naturally excluded from this event."
Kitse's explanation was brief, but the impact it had on the kings was extraordinary.
Hearing about things such as Divinity and gods already shook the kings present. Even Frieza, upon learning that Beerus was a member of the Divine Branch of the Nexus, was shocked to the core.
"In that case, why is a Titled Ranger like you assigned to a Mortal World like the Pirate World?"
Bruno, the Guild Master of the Hunter World, finally found the opportunity to ask the question that had been bothering him for a long time.
Kitse fell silent for a moment, but ultimately answered with a firm expression.
"Abyss."
Boom!
The Guild Masters reacted visibly upon hearing the word from Kitse's mouth.
Minerva, the Guild Master of the Shinobi World, visibly gasped as she adjusted herself in her seat.
The kings were confused by the word itself but they didn't understand the complications behind the word.
