A three-year-old child was wielding a sword
but nobody seemed to care
Because in this world where your fate is decided at birth, he was born weak.
Not only weak, he was.. Talentless
if he were to train his entire life he would probably end up as a 2-star Knight
A fate that is quite deceiving for a child born in one of the most powerful swordsman families of the continent.
He was born as the fourth child of the current Patriarch—an 8-star Knight who had endured sixty-one tribulations and was considered the most powerful swordsman alive.
so for the child…
he was basically sentenced to live hell on earth
as a punishment for his mediocrity.
At three-year-old the child started observing..
observing how he was treated differently from the others
The gazes that fell on him were different, they seemed to be filled with pity, disgust, or even mockery
But the gazes the other kids in the household received seemed filled with admiration, affection, and a touch of fear mixed with envy.
How could a three year-old kid perceive such things?
Maybe the child had sharp eyesight, or maybe it was a survival instinct keeping him alert to possible threats.
But one thing was certain: people felt uncomfortable around him, just as he felt uncomfortable around them.
the only thing that didn't seem to look at him with pity was a worn wooden sword that was sitting in the middle of the garden
the sword didn't look at him with pity. The sword didn't look at him at all, but that was enough for the child.
Why would a wooden sword be sitting in the middle of a garden meant for children only two or three years old?
Perhaps fate's hand guided things to their rightful place.
the sword became the child's unique friend, every day he tried to pick it up failing miserably
but one day while he was running through the garden he saw the knights that were meant to protect the child, training
he didn't know what a knight was nor what training could mean
But what caught his eye was what the knights were holding, it looked like a grown version of his friend, larger and made of metal.
the knights swung their swords in various angles and switched to different stances all in unison it was truly an amazing sight
the child was amazed he had never considered playing with his sword like that
so he looked a little more and started running towards his sword
he tried to pick it up…
he failed.
his fragile body didn't allow him to carry such weight
so instinctively he sat next to the sword and using his memory
He tried to remember what the knights were doing. As he watched, he saw not only the swords in motion, but also the movement of their feet, their arms, and even their cores.
it all looked coordinated but the kid couldn't remember everything he was a three year old child after all
his head started to hurt but his curiosity wasn't satisfied
so the next days he looked at the knights training again
After that, he would sit next to his sword, close his eyes, and imagine himself performing the movements he had so often seen from the knights.
he truly enjoyed it
but he still could not pick up and play with his only friend
so his heart was covered in sadness
how funny ,a child that could merely become a low-tier knight after an entire life of hard work feeling sad because he couldn't pick up a sword
fate can really be ruthless sometimes…
so the child did something no one could have seen coming
he waited for the knights' training to end
"He noticed a group of three young knights whose movements had looked the most refined during training.
so he approached them
"Could you teach me how to wield a sword?"
the kid asked.
