The Lost Stone and the Forgotten Pact

Season Two — Chapter One

They reappeared at the base of a massive waterfall. Weapons drawn. Eyes alert.

Then—a voice. Cold. Sharp.

"Why have you come here? Speak."

Everyone froze.

Reena gripped her staff.

Raj notched an arrow.

Gwen narrowed her eyes.

Gaurav stepped forward.

"Someone from your village stole a magical stone from our kingdom. It belongs to us."

A beat of silence—then laughter.

"Yours? No... I merely reclaimed what was mine to begin with."

A jolt of shock rippled through the team. Seconds passed.

Raj stepped forward, defiant.

"No, you're lying. The stone's not yours. It's been in our kingdom for decades—at least a century."

"You are correct, child," the voice said calmly. "A hundred years have passed since I gave the stone to your previous king. It's been a while... but it doesn't change the fact that I was the one who gave it to him. It belongs to me."

Gaurav's voice turned cold.

"If you're telling the truth—and if you gave that stone to our king—then why did you take it back?"

"I have no need to explain what happened in the past. But today... I am in a generous mood. I will tell you.

Back then, Vaelyndor was known as Velthara—the Land of Fading Rivers.

Every citizen suffered. The rivers dried. Hope faded.

Moved by the pain of his people, the king gathered a party of elite soldiers and joined their expedition to find a solution.

Five months passed. Still no cure.

Eventually, the search led them to Dharma Village. There, the king met a village elder and asked for help.

"Do you have any solution for this?"

"There is only one solution I know," the elder said. "Go to the Nira Village. You'll find a beautiful waterfall there. Inside it dwells a water spirit. It may help you."

"I'll go," the king said.

They arrived at the gates of Nira Village.

Suddenly, a thick fog swept in—blinding them. In an instant, it vanished.

They now stood before the majestic waterfall.

The soldiers raised their weapons, alert. The king remained calm.

Then, a voice echoed through the mist.

"Why did you come here? What is your business? Speak..."

"I've come here to ask for your help," the king replied.

He explained the drought. The suffering. The need.

The spirit listened.

Then, a glowing pink stone appeared before the king.

The king stared in awe.

"What is this?"

"This is the magical stone," the spirit said. "With it, you can restore water to your kingdom. But remember—this will be our pact. The moment the king uses its power for himself instead of the people, I will reclaim it."

"I swear," the king said. "I will never use it for myself. Only for the kingdom. Only for its people."

The king returned to Velthara. The kingdom's people watched as he stopped his horse. They still had faith in him. Their eyes were full of trust.

The king raised both hands, holding the magic stone the spirit had given him.

"Everyone, I found the solution to our problem."

Everyone stood silently, eyes wide with shock and joy.

The stone glowed for a few seconds.

Then, a single droplet fell on the king's face from the sky. He looked up towards the sky.

Then It began to rain—softly, gently.

Some people stood in disbelief, wondering if it was a dream. Others didn't care. They simply embraced the moment.

One man pinched his cheek.

"It's not a dream."

The king heard that, smiled, and said:

"Everyone—it's not a dream. It's real.

"The crowd erupted.

"Yaaa!"

The king handed the stone to a soldier and continued going toward the castle and the soldiers followed him....

It rained continuously for two days. It wasn't heavy, and it shouldn't have been enough to fill the dried rivers. But somehow—it did.

Maybe that's why it's called a magical stone or is there an another mystery behind it too...?

The rivers filled. The land was revived. Every citizen celebrated it in their own way...

Days later, the king renamed the kingdom :- Vaelyndor.

Present Day

The spirit's story ended. Silence clung to the room.

The Wolves Squad stood in shock—except Gwen, who remained quiet.

"The king must've had a reason for increasing the tax," Gaurav said slowly. "Something important, right, guys? And maybe… maybe he didn't even know about the pact."

Raj and Reena nodded.

"Yes."

"I have no wish to quarrel with you children," the spirit said. "But if you truly believe your king had a good reason, tell him to come here. Let him explain. If his reason is worthy, I may lend the stone's power again. Now begone. Return to your kingdom."

Thick fog swirled around them.

Seconds passed.

Then—they vanished.

The fog faded.

The squad reappeared—standing at the border of Vaelyndor.

Raj stumbled forward.

"What… How is this possible? Why are we at the border? How did we get here?"

Reena and Gwen said nothing, stunned.

Gaurav exhaled calmly.

"Since we don't know the current location of the commander, let's go to the Adventurer's Guild and report everything to the guild master."

They nodded.

Together, they headed toward the guild.

Now they stood in front of the adventurers guild...

They looked at each others faces and nodded then entered the guild....

Adventurer's Guild – Interior Chamber

Inside, the guild master sat calmly in his chair, two members standing behind him.

As the Wolves entered, he raised his head.

"Did you find the location of the stone?"

Gaurav gave a quiet nod.

"Yes."

At that moment, the commander arrived with two soldiers and three adventurer parties.

The guild master turned to him.

"Perfect timing, Commander. This party found the location of the stone."

"Really?" the commander asked, taking a seat. "Where is it?"

The guild master nodded toward Gaurav.

"Go ahead."

Gaurav explained everything that happened—but said nothing of the old granny. He simply told them a wanderer had revealed the location. Everyone listened.

As he finished speaking, the room went dead silent.

The two soldiers and three adventurer parties looked stunned, wordless.

Then the guild master broke the silence.

"Really...? The stone was never ours to begin with?"

"Are you telling the truth, child?" the commander asked.

"Yes, Commander. Everything I've said is true."

The guild master sighed deeply and leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples.

"This turned out to be a much bigger mess than I expected."

The commander stood.

"Job well done, Wolves Squad. You will get your reward later."

He turned to the guild master.

"I'll confirm this with the king."

The guild master nodded.

"Okay."

As the commander left with his two soldiers, a voice called out.

"Wait…" said Gaurav.

The commander paused and turned back.

"Yes? What do you want?"

"I want to come with you to the Sabha. I want to hear the truth for myself."

For a moment, silence hung in the air.

Then the commander nodded.

"Very well. You may come."

Gaurav bowed his head.

"Thank you, Commander."

And so, the commander, his soldiers, and the Wolves Squad departed for the Sabha.

The other adventurer parties remained behind—silent, motionless.

Then—

Black faded...
