Maiev looked dazed, unable to process Gale's words.
Gale stopped helplessly; he didn't want to talk about these things either. Perhaps he hadn't had enough when teaching Meijia earlier, and once he started debating with Maiev, he couldn't stop. He knew Maiev was uncomfortable, but such situations would still happen in the future. If Maiev truly loved him, she would slowly accept all of this.
She probably couldn't accept it for now, after all, it was only the first time.
Maiev really wanted to denounce Gale's "heretical theories," but looking at Gale's serious expression, it didn't seem like he was lying to her.
Faith and worship can blind people's eyes. In Maiev's eyes, Elune was veiled in mystery. Now that Gale had unveiled this layer, Maiev's faith almost collapsed.
Soon, she thought of a question: these were just Gale's conjectures. She felt she should guide Gale back to the "correct" path, so she asked, "How do you prove all of this?"
Gale spread his hands, "How about letting Elune judge my words?"
Maiev looked at Gale in disbelief. He had slandered Elune so, and yet he still wanted Elune to prove he was right?
However, if Gale dared to let Elune judge, what did she have to fear? Just as well, her curiosity had been piqued by Gale, and she wanted to know if his words were correct.
Soon she thought of a possibility: what if Elune judged Gale's words as heresy and told her to kill Gale?
What should she do?
Maiev was a little flustered.
After a long internal struggle, she made a decision. She would first capture Gale, then plead with Elune, and personally guide him back to the correct faith.
Gale led her to the forging area, put mithril ingots and fine iron ingots into a magic furnace, melted them into an alloy, forged them into an elven-style sword, and inscribed it with runes of Holy Light and Shadow.
He placed the sword on a rack. "You can pray to Elune and let Elune make a judgment. If Elune acknowledges my words, please let her bestow a blessing and enchant this sword. If she rejects my conjecture, I will accept punishment for my absurd statements."
Seeing that Gale still maintained respect for Elune, Maiev breathed a slight sigh of relief. Questioning Elune shouldn't be a capital offense, right?
Maiev stepped forward and nervously prayed to Elune.
She subtly recounted the events to Elune, and then Elune gave her response.
A beam of moonlight fell upon the sword, and the two runes of light and shadow glowed in the moonlight.
Maiev was stunned; Elune had actually acknowledged Gale's conjecture. For a moment, she couldn't accept it. "How is this possible?"
"Questioning Elune is not something a devout believer should do!" Gale said teasingly.
Maiev quickly shut her mouth, but her eyes still couldn't suppress her confusion.
Gale picked up the sword, suddenly regretting, "I should have used better materials; I might have been able to make a divine artifact."
Maiev said discontentedly, "What exactly is going on?"
"It's actually very simple. Elune never intended to hide her existence; it's just that she found it inconvenient to speak."
"Why?"
"Perhaps our strength is too weak!"
Gale said casually, then picked up the sword and observed it. Divine enchantment is very different from ordinary enchantment; it should involve the use of divine power.
He unfolded Arcane analysis, analyzing the method of divine power enchantment. Soon, he got the result.
Divine power enchantment, like normal enchantment, is about infusing power into runes to activate them. However, divine power is a primal force, more powerful, and the enchanted runes have better effects.
After understanding, Gale felt even more regretful. If he had used eternal gold and orichalcum, combined with titan runes, he would definitely have been able to forge a divine artifact.
What a pity! What a great pity!
Just as he was lamenting, a group of people rushed into the forging area. Yue Nu parted the crowd and asked, "What just happened?"
The craftsmen in the forging area quickly reported, "It's Archmage Gale. He forged a sword."
Upon hearing this, Yue Nu's eyes immediately lit up. To be honest, he had coveted Gale's weapons for a long time. He didn't care for the common Sanction Blade and Golden Holy Sword; he wanted something unique.
He knew that Gale's Mage Tower guards all had their own unique weapons, and as Gale's friend, he should have one too.
So, he rubbed his hands and approached, "Gale, I just felt Elune's power."
Gale didn't hide it. "Elune just blessed this sword. It's truly a pity. If I had chosen better materials, I might have been able to forge a divine artifact. What a shame, it's just an epic weapon."
Yue Nu's mouth twitched. What did this kid think a divine artifact was? Could a divine artifact be forged just like that?
However, while Gale despised this weapon, he certainly didn't. This was an epic weapon, and it even had Elune's blessing. On the market, it would fetch 100 gold coins, and people would want it. And if they bought it, they wouldn't use it at all; they would keep it at home as a sacred relic to worship.
Gale watched Yue Nu's expression change, his eyes fixed on the sword, so he did him a favor, "It's for you!"
Yue Nu was still thinking about how to ask to buy the sword, but he didn't expect Gale to just give it to him.
He said a little awkwardly, "Isn't this too much?"
"It's just an epic weapon. Can it compare to our friendship?"
Upon hearing this, Yue Nu immediately straightened his back, smiling as he took the sword. "Of course not, our friendship will last forever!"
Gale looked at Yue Nu, who couldn't put the sword down, feeling a little smug. It was just some mithril and fine iron, costing less than 10 gold coins, and it made Yue Nu so happy. This deal was worth it.
He didn't care about the sword at all; its true value was the divine power enchanting technology on it. The technology was already in hand, so there was no need to keep the sword. He didn't know much about Holy Light runes, and the ones inscribed were healing runes. This sword was suitable for priests and paladins, but unfortunately, the Holy Light spell system was just beginning to emerge, and there were only a few priests, let alone paladins.
Yue Nu played with it for a while, then suddenly asked, "Gale, what is this sword called?"
Gale was about to say, "Just name it whatever you like," but then he thought, this sword was, after all, an epic weapon he had forged. He might not care for it, but that didn't mean the sword had no value, so it needed a suitable name.
"Let's call it Moonlit Curse Blade!"
Yue Nu nodded repeatedly, "That's a good name!"
The sword had Elune's blessing, its name contained the moon, and it echoed his surname, Yue Nu, as if the sword was tailor-made for him. No wonder Yue Nu was overthinking it; he was simply too happy.
Even if this sword were offered to Azshara, Azshara would treat it as a divine artifact and enshrine it in her treasury.
Gale was a little confused. An epic weapon made Yue Nu so happy; if he gave him a divine artifact, wouldn't he go crazy with joy?
