Chapter 1 - Capter One : Is Existence Absolute?

Chapter One:

Has my existence been erased? Does the world not need me?... Am I real? (Stifling atmosphere).

Ugh, this is annoying. It's so hot. (He looks to his right and sees a group of friends eating ice cream in the shade.) Why do I have to work while others are having fun? (He sweeps the floor very quickly, dust flying all over him.) A loud sneeze. (This is Ray, a lazy, loser, 23-year-old who works part-time at an ice cream shop in a coastal city.) Rayeeee, haaa, yes, sir. (Standing like a marine.) You idiot, work hard or I'll fire you. I already have enough problems. Do you understand? (He gives him a sharp, scary look.) Eeeeh, yes, sir. Yes, sir. I'll do my best. (He is very scared.) This is my boss, the owner of the shop. He is very scary and likes to abide by the rules. Ugh, I'm finally done. It's 8:00 sharp. I'm leaving, boss. Oh, okay, come back early in the morning. I understand. Ray: Yes, sir. Ah, that was a tiring day. I need a day off to rest. I feel so tired these days. (A girl appears in the middle of the road, looking up at the sky and staring at the bright stars). Car sound. Ray: Hey, pay attention. Can you hear me? No response. (The girl looks behind her and freezes. The car is going to hit her.) Ray rushes towards her, grabs her hand, and pulls her towards him, so she falls on him. The car continues on its way instead of stopping. Ray: That loser didn't even stop to check on us. Ah, are you okay? Did something happen to you? (The girl pushes him away) Girl: Get away from me, what are you trying to do, running towards me like that? Ray: What? Is this how you thank your savior? Girl: My savior, who asked you to save me in the first place? (She gets closer to his face) Ray: I didn't notice that, but she's indescribably beautiful, but it's annoying. Girl: Anyway, I'm going. Don't try to catch me, you pervert. (Comedy psychological shock Ray's face is so stupid) Ray: I'm a pervert (The girl laughs and makes fun of him) Hahahahaha Girl: I've met a lot of losers in my life, but you're on another level hahahahaha. (Ray gets angry and closes his fist as if he's going to commit a crime) Ray: Hey,... Girl: But I thank you (She speaks in a low, inaudible voice while pushing her hair behind her ear). (Ray is surprised, he never expected this). Ray: I don't, yes I mean... (Ray is very shy). Girl: Hey, don't tell me you're socially weak. (Ray freezes in place) Girl: Hahaha, you're a failure in every way. Ray: Okay, kind of (Ray gets serious) But what were you doing in the middle of the road alone in the dark. Girl: Hoho, I've become serious. (The girl looks up at the sky) and says: Why were you in the middle of the road? Why am I alone in this darkness? Honestly, I don't know. You know, there are some questions that don't have answers, and they are many and varied, but there are questions that shouldn't have answers and are not supposed to be answered. (She looks at the sky and raises her hand high as if she is trying to touch it). (Ray is surprised by the situation and doesn't understand her complicated thinking). Girl: Aren't you going to ask me my name, Ray? Ray: That's right, I'm sorry, I forgot. Wait a minute. (Ray realizes something) How did you know my name? I didn't tell you anything about it. Girl: I'm a magic fortune teller and I came to kill you. (Ray takes a step back) Hahaha, I'm just kidding. Ray: What? Girl: Look, it's written on your jacket badge. Ray: Oh, that's right, it's the badge I wear at work and I forgot it. Anyway, what's your name? (Ray smiles and looks at her). (The girl looks up at the sky and its stars, then turns to Ray and looks at him in surprise, then smiles) and says: My name is... (The girl disappears as if she never existed at that moment. Ray's tears flow for no reason) Ray: Why am I crying, wait a minute, what was I doing here, was I talking to someone? (All his memories of the girl strangely disappeared) Ray: It's late, I have to go home. But I don't remember anything about why I stopped in this place or why I was crying, it doesn't matter... Oh what is this? (A strong pressure sucks Ray in and pulls him towards it as if it were some kind of wormhole) I feel a crushing pain Ahhhhhh I'm losing my grip on reality. (Then in a quick moment it's over) Ray: I have a strong headache and I'm about to fall. What happened to me, oh I got home, that was so fast. (He lives in a small apartment in a poor neighborhood) I completely forgot about the rent. I will pay it later. Finally, the moment has arrived. Is the door locked? Is someone inside? Am I being robbed? (Ray tries to break the door, but something stranger than imagination happens. He passes through the closed door as if he were a supernatural ghost.) He falls to the ground and says: This hurts, but wait a minute, did you pass through the door without me touching it? (Ray raises his head and is shocked) What is this? This is impossible. I am looking at myself (an exact copy of him lives in his apartment). Have I gone crazy? No, no. I think I am in a strange and crazy dream. (The copy walks towards him, and here is the big shock) Ray: Hey, pay attention. I am in front of you. (The copy penetrates Ray's body, passing through him as if he does not exist.) Ray is in shock and says: Oh, is this real? How is this? He angrily advances towards his copy and says: Who are you, and how did you enter my apartment? (He does not respond to his words.) Are you ignoring me, you bastard? Answer me when I talk to you. (Ray attacks the copy, but to no avail. His punch passes through it without hitting the copy or even touching it. At that moment, Ray realizes) Does he not see me and I cannot touch him or anything else? (Ray runs outside and reaches an open place full of people. He goes to the nearest person and asks him) You see me right? I'm standing right in front of you here. (That person waves to him, and Ray is happy, but the man passes by him and through his body. It turns out that he was waving to a girl behind Ray.) Ray panics and runs towards a group of young men and passes through them. After countless attempts, he fully realizes that he is invisible to people and that he does not exist physically. (He gets tired and sits by a famous fountain, and then it starts to rain on him.) Ray: I don't understand anything that is happening. If I am dreaming, I want to wake up from this nightmare. I am tired. (Ray looks up at the sky in a pathetic state.)...

Has my existence been erased? Does the world not need me?... Am I real?

The chapter is over.
