Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Story

The large spaceship had taken Mas's small ship, which resembled a white van, inside... The giant vessel carried all three of them to the planet Sevoria...

The massive spaceship finally arrived at Sevoria, a planet not far from where Kai's group was. It was a lush green world, a small planet with vast greenery. There stood a massive mansion, the only one on the planet. Krrrrr... Krrrrr... The large ship landed on the surface of Sevoria. Boom...

Mas spoke up, clasping his hands together, his face smiling obsequiously at Meyrin as he said:

"Miss Meyrin, may I ask if this place has any kind of medical facility? My little cat, my friend, is seriously injured. I need urgent treatment."

Meyrin, walking with a cold expression, stopped and turned to look at the two of them.

"There is. I'll take you there... This place has treatment facilities. But under one condition—you must come with me, both of you."

Kai spoke up:"Me too? Then what do we have to do in order to get treatment for our friend?"

Meyrin said:"You just need to meet someone."

"Alright, soldiers, take the cat in the capsule for treatment."

"Yes, Lady Meyrin!"

Both Mas and Kai followed Meyrin toward the mansion.

Kai admired the scenery around him and thought to himself:

"This mansion is way too big... What kind of person would build something like this on a planet where not even a single living being can be seen, as if it were abandoned?"

The three of them—Kai, Mas, and Meyrin—entered the grand hall, where someone was seated.

Esevu, the ruler of the North.

Meyrin said, "Behave yourselves before this person, because your lives depend solely on him now."

In the grand hall sat a young girl with golden hair, wearing a white dress, upon a massive throne.

Meyrin knelt before Esevu with a fearful expression.

"I, Meyrin, have encountered these three travelers, my lord Esevu."

Mas and Kai also knelt respectfully behind Meyrin.

Mas thought to himself with a blank expression:

"So this is Esevu, ruler of the northern continent? She looks like nothing more than a tiny little girl. This brat? The one people say can destroy a planet with just one finger? What a load of nonsense..."

Kai then spoke firmly:

"You are the great one, aren't you? Please, save our friend... Ruby is badly injured... Can you really help us?"

Esevu replied with slight irritation on her face as she sat on the throne:

"And who do you think I am, boy? You, who haven't even lived a hundred years yet... Healing the wounded is far too simple for beings like us."

Kai thought in confusion:

"Less than a hundred years? Does that mean beings from other planets live longer than humans on Earth?"

He asked, "Great one, may I ask... how old are you, Lord Esevu?"

Meyrin, still kneeling, turned to look at him and thought to herself:

"This brat... doesn't he even fear death?"

Esevu, resting her chin on her hand, smirked slightly.

"No one has dared to ask me that for seven hundred thousand years. If I told you I've forgotten my own age, would that be an acceptable answer, young adventurer?"

Kai's face calmed, his worries fading.

"I see... so old you can't even remember. Seven hundred thousand years... For humans like us, even one hundred years is difficult."

Esevu spoke with satisfaction:

"Meyrin, take these two to rest. These three are my guests. I am very pleased today."

"Yes, my lord. I shall take them to their quarters in the mansion."

Mas and Kai followed Meyrin to their rooms.

Just then, Ruby came running, leaping into Mas's arms with a joyful face.

"Mas! Mas! Mas! I missed you so much, meow!"

"Haha... Ruby, you're healed? You're fine now?"

"Yes... It seems this place has some kind of healing device. I entered a capsule-like chamber, and I was instantly healed, meow!"

Kai spoke with a relieved expression:

"Ruby, you're back... Mas and I were so worried about you."

"And who's this, meow?"

"I'm Meyrin. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Ruby, meow!"

Meyrin replied seriously, with a calm face:

"Hmm... Ruby-meow, is it?"

"No! I'm Ruby, Ruby! Meow!"

The three followed Meyrin to the guest rooms.

"We're here. These are your rooms. If you're ready to leave, your ship is parked outside in the wide courtyard before the mansion."

Mas said, "Thank you so much for helping us and our friend."

Meyrin turned as she walked away.

"It's nothing."

Night fell. The three of them slept in the rooms prepared for them.

Kai awoke in the middle of the night and stepped outside the mansion.

"Wow... The stars here are even more beautiful than on Earth. And the view is amazing too."

Suddenly, the figure of a golden-haired girl descended from the sky.

"Huh... Lord Esevu? What are you doing here?"

Esevu replied as she floated down:

"The same as you—stargazing... You're leaving tomorrow, aren't you?"

"Yes. It seems Mas wants to depart quickly, now that Ruby has fully recovered."

"You're searching for the ruler of the East, aren't you?"

Kai answered, "Yes. But how do you know that?"

"Well, he may become our enemy in the future. But don't be afraid—I won't harm anyone unless necessary. As for how I know... It's because I have the Heavenly Eye. It lets me read thoughts, and also see across great distances."

Kai stood there listening, his face pale and sweating in fear.

"I'll tell you something... Long ago, three million years ago, there was a great war. The Cosmic War. The rulers of every continent led countless armies into battle. The war lasted over a million years. But there was one who ended it—the ruler of the East."

"The fact that you're seeking the ruler of the East is a good thing. I support it, so history will not repeat itself with another great loss."

Kai listened intently, then returned to his room, lay down on the bed, and fell asleep.
