Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Training

After Antier had Kai sit down on the chair opposite her, she used the Heavenly Eye to look into his inner energy to see whether he possessed the qualities of the chosen one.

"I will use my Heavenly Eye to examine your qualifications."

"The Heavenly Eye, huh? Does it have the same abilities? Because during my journey, I met someone who also claimed to have the Heavenly Eye."

"The abilities of the Heavenly Eye are the same, but only for long-distance vision. What I will use is my special power, which must be performed through direct sight. It allows me to enter into a person's mind and see whether… they possess power or not. Most of the time, I never fail. So don't worry."

"Alright, alright. Please, go ahead."

Antier gazed into the depths of Kai's mind, her consciousness floating within him.

"So this is the inside of this person… it is so murky, yet strangely bright, and so chaotic."

As Antier drifted deeper into Kai's mind, a deafening sound echoed throughout, as if millions upon millions of voices resounded across the entire space within. Suddenly, the figure of a young girl appeared. She had short pink hair, sparkling pink eyes, wore a white T-shirt with a pink coat over it, and a short pink skirt. She spoke up:

"How did you get in here? Do you think your Heavenly Eye is stronger than mine? If you don't leave, be careful—you might die."

Then, a man appeared with short black hair, wearing a dark blue T-shirt and long black pants. He said,

"Leave this place. This is not for you, little girl."

Countless living beings, appearing in a massive multitude, suddenly emerged, speaking in unison:

"Leave this place."

The black figure spoke again:

"Leave. This place does not welcome intruders like you."

Antier saw the overwhelming number of beings inside Kai's mind—beings that took the forms of dragons, giants, gods, and demons beyond counting.

At that very moment, Antier's physical body outside began to bleed from her eyes. Her consciousness was expelled from Kai's body, and she coughed up blood as if she had been severely damaged. She said,

"Your mind contains immense power. Even I could not reach the innermost part. All I know is that there are guardians at the gates, unlike normal people whose minds I can easily enter."

Kai spoke, "So that means… I do have power?"

"Yes. You have power. You are the chosen one."

"I will teach you myself how to use this power… Very well, we will begin tomorrow."

"Understood, teacher. I place myself under your guidance."

Not long after, Kai began practicing meditation every day according to Antier's instructions—observing the depths of his mind, watching the thoughts that arose, and returning to his breath, just as she had taught him—until he began to reach awakening of the mind.

Antier greeted him, "How are you today, Kai?"

"I feel like I can sense certain things happening within myself, teacher… And sometimes, I can even communicate with people who speak different languages. It's like, the moment I hear a strange language, I immediately understand it. Something like that, teacher."

"Is that so? That's good. This is called awakening of the mind—it allows you to perceive things more quickly, and helps you understand yourself better."

Antier spoke softly and calmly while sipping her tea.

"Keep practicing this way, and you will come to know your own power."

"Huh… Just by practicing like this, I'll be able to know my power?"

"Yes. If you truly know yourself, then you will also know the power hidden within you."

Kai continued practicing like this every day. Three months passed.

"So it's been about three months now… why haven't I felt any strange power yet?"

Kai thought to himself as he stopped practicing and left the massive fortress.

"Enough for today. I should take a walk. I wonder if there's anything unusual to see outside the fortress."

Kai walked on, all the while unaware that Antier's gaze followed him from the skies above.

"I wonder what the outside is like. I really want to know. Will it be like Earth?"
