Mas quickly lifted the ship into the air. The high-speed propulsion system activated, counting down. One... two... three... The system warped out of Terra's atmosphere and aimed toward the coordinates set in the navigation device. Vwooommmm… Shooommmm… Whizzzzz! The ship successfully exited Terra's atmosphere and warped to an unknown place.
Mas spoke with a slightly serious expression as he piloted the ship.
"We must hurry and bring Ruby to the base."
Kai spoke, "The base? Where is that?"
"You'll know when we get there, kid. For now, we need to survive those bastards first."
Kai asked curiously,
"Does everyone have that kind of power? Why are you so strong? Just one kick nearly killed Ruby!"
Mas answered calmly,
"That power was given to us… we are called the Chosen."
"Then… does that mean that red-haired woman only did good deeds to gain such power? I heard from Ruby that if you only do good, you'll gain power. But then why do bad people have powers too? I don't get it."
"Calm down, kid. Yes, good people receive that power, but… why do bad people have it too? That's because once, in the past, they were good people too."
"Really?... Then why?"
"No one stays good forever, and no one stays evil forever either, kid. That redhead's power must've come from good deeds she did long ago."
Mas and Kai continued talking as Mas piloted the ship, when he noticed something.
"Damn it… the ship's navigation system is broken?"
Kai asked, "What's the navigation system?"
"The device that sets coordinates for each warp, kid."
"And it's broken?"
"Yes… that means we're lost. We don't even know where we are now."
Kai's face turned pale, sweat dripping down as he asked,
"And if we're lost like this… what happens if we run out of power?"
"Then we'll just drift around for a while… but don't worry, kid. As long as the communication system works… we won't die out here in space. It might take a while though."
"And if the food runs out?"
"Well…" Mas went quiet for a moment.
"Maybe we'll eat Ruby instead." He laughed. Hahaha!
"Hey! Are you crazy, bro? Seriously now, boss!"
Mas replied with his normal expression,
"Someone will probably come by eventually, maybe pass through or something."
"And if the ones who find us are enemies, boss?"
"Welllll… then we're probably dead."
Kai thought to himself, So when people are about to die, it's just that simple, huh? I guess we shouldn't live recklessly. We should value our lives more.
At that moment, something came streaking like a lightning bolt.
A girl appeared — with messy high ponytail black hair, pale skin, blue eyes, wearing a short-sleeved white shirt and short combat pants. A small girl, about 155 cm tall, holding a huge silver spear wrapped in lightning. Her whole body radiated with electricity. She spoke,
"I am the Left Hand of the Northern Continent — Meyrin."
Behind her was an army of a hundred soldiers aboard a large spaceship. Meyrin, floating in space, hailed Mas's ship.
"What are you doing here?"
Kai answered, "Huh? Why can I hear the voice in my head? Telepathy? This is the first time I've seen it!"
Mas replied, "We're just lost. We don't intend to break any universal laws. Please, have mercy on us."
Meyrin spoke, "We are tasked with guarding the Northern Universe."
Mas thought to himself…
"Damn it… we got lost in the North? Useless damn navigator."
Kai said, "It's fine, Mas. I don't think she means any harm."
Kai then answered back, "We come in peace. Please help us. Our ship is out of power. Could you help us?"
Mas said, "She can't hear you. That's telepathy."
Kai, confused, said, "Then how come she contacted us?"
"Because these people can awaken their minds. I'll answer myself."
"Oh, Lady Meyrin, our ship has run out of power. Please, have mercy and help us. And one of us is injured as well. Please, we beg of you."
Meyrin spoke while floating in space.
"Alright…"
"Soldiers, take this ship to Severia."
A loud voice echoed from the large ship's speakers.
"Understood, my lady!"
