Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The Fourth Diary Begins

"You have one too?"

Looking at the black-gold diary in Natasha Romanoff's hand, Wanda instinctively spoke up.

Hearing Wanda's voice, Natasha turned and noticed that Wanda, now in her pajamas, was holding an identical black-gold diary.

"Come sit!"

Seeing Wanda's surprised expression, Natasha smiled and waved her over.

Once Wanda approached, Natasha said gently, "No wonder you went to Peach Blossom Forest Café this morning."

"So, you went to see Su?"

Instead of answering, Wanda asked, "So, the reason you worked as a waiter at Peach Blossom Forest Café was also to get close to Su?"

"Partly, yes!"

Natasha reached out and hugged Wanda, who was now sitting beside her, like an older sister embracing her younger sibling.

Feeling Wanda's tense and uncomfortable posture, Natasha smiled and said, "On one hand, yes. On the other hand, I really wanted to verify whether what Su wrote in this black-gold diary is true."

"What's your conclusion?"

Wanda looked up at Natasha, her expression serious.

"I tested him three times. My conclusion is that I now have very little doubt about what's written in the diary."

"But you, Wanda—you have to start at a new school tomorrow and begin a new life. It's almost ten o'clock. Why are you still awake?"

Natasha's tone was genuinely caring, like an older sister concerned for her younger sibling.

At the very least, Wanda detected no malice from Natasha. Instead, she felt a sense of… parental warmth.

Whether it was an act or not, even though Wanda remained cautious, she didn't push away Natasha's hand on her shoulder.

She simply said softly, "I just moved to a new environment. I can't sleep."

"After the fourth diary entry is added, I want to read it before going to bed."

"Then let's read it together!"

Ruffling Wanda's hair, Natasha smiled.

"Okay."

Seeing Natasha's gentle smile, Wanda pursed her lips and nodded slightly.

[This is my first month in this world, and I've noticed that many things have changed since I arrived.]

[I actually met Wanda and Pietro at Peach Blossom Forest Café!!!]

[I don't understand why Wanda and Pietro are here. According to the timeline, they should be in Sokovia right now.]

[Who brought them here? Nick Fury? No, he probably doesn't even know Wanda and Pietro yet!]

[So, what's going on?]

Reading this, Natasha whispered to Wanda, "Nick Fury is the one who ordered you and Pietro to be brought back. He's also one of the holders of the black-gold diary."

"That blindfolded S.H.I.E.L.D. guy?"

Wanda recalled the black "marinated egg" (Nick Fury).

"That's right. He's the director of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Smiling, Natasha gently ruffled Wanda's hair. "After obtaining the diary back then, S.H.I.E.L.D. began paying attention to every name mentioned in it."

"That includes you and Pietro. And you two are the focal points."

Wanda nodded in understanding. "Because the 'me' in that parallel world is Su's wife, right?"

"So, relatively speaking, I should have the greatest influence on Su among everyone."

"No wonder that man named Nick Fury sent his stern-faced sister to bring me and Pietro back from Sokovia."

"I thought… I didn't expect the real reason to be like this."

Learning the true reason she and Pietro were brought back by S.H.I.E.L.D., Wanda's guarded heart relaxed slightly.

But still… should she tell Natasha about the HYDRA base in Sokovia?

After all, based on the diary entries, Natasha seemed to be one of the good guys.

At the very least, Su's writings portrayed Natasha as a good person.

Seeing that Wanda had quickly grasped the situation, Natasha continued with a smile, "Another thing: Su doesn't know about this. He has no idea that the diary he writes is being read by us."

"That's why he's confused about why you and Pietro are here."

"Should we tell him, then?"

Wanda looked up at Natasha, her expression serious. "Isn't this like spying on Su's privacy? It feels… immoral!"

Knowing that the diary written by her future husband wasn't just for her eyes made Wanda feel inexplicably uncomfortable.

That's my future husband—whether from a parallel world or not.

His future wife reading his diary is one thing, but others…

"We can't tell him. I've tried."

Natasha could easily read the discomfort on Wanda's face.

"When I was working at the café, I wanted to test whether the diary's owner knew that we were reading his entries."

"However, just like how diary holders can't disclose the diary or its contents to non-holders, I couldn't find any way to tell him."

"Besides, it's crucial for us to read between the lines and understand what might happen in the future."

"After all, the parallel world he came from was destroyed. If we want to prevent our world from meeting the same fate, we need to prepare in advance."

"Alright…"

Hearing Natasha's earnest explanation, Wanda nodded in understanding.

It was similar to how she couldn't tell Pietro about the black-gold diary or its contents.

But then, Wanda suddenly looked up at Natasha. "Then, when you worked at the café, Su must have recognized you immediately!"

"After all, your name was mentioned in the previous diary. It also said that you have the best relationship with him, or at least the most unique feelings."

"That's right."

Natasha didn't hide anything. "He recognized me the moment he saw me."

"I know he knows me, but he doesn't know that I know he knows me!"

It was a convoluted sentence, but Wanda understood.

Because she, too, knew that Su knew her, but he didn't know that she knew he knew her.

Nodding, she continued reading the diary.

Wanda was genuinely curious about how Su, her future husband from this parallel world, would describe his first impression of her today.

Oh, wait!

Natasha and Nick Fury could also read the diary.

Did that mean they had already seen all the short stories Su wrote about her?

Mommy…

This was too…

Please, Su, don't write anything embarrassing in the diary. Otherwise, I'll die of shame in front of this Natasha Romanoff I just met!
