Chapter 13: Penultimate Stage: End of White Sword

Apparently, the relatively "normal" 3 years he had with the others was the last "long reprieve" Bam would have, as after only a year since he had killed Edahn and annexed the Khun Family into the UFH, the Arie Family now made it's move on him. A letter was sent to Bam directly by none other but Arie Hon, challenging him to a one-on-one duel, and also asked him to bring a representative along as his best daughter, Arie Haghiperione, also wished to fight.

Bam agreed to accept, since if there was one thing he learned from the Khun and Lo Po Bia Families, taking down the Leader of the Family and proving his worthiness was the best way to get the Family to pledge themselves to him. He didn't want to cause any unnecessary casualties, after all, so Bam chose to go. The problem was who could take on Arie Haghiperione?

He couldn't possibly take any of the Family Heads or Enne with him, as that would go against the "fair combat" picture Bam wanted to show, but at the same time, he didn't want to risk Yuri or any of his loves. Yuri might have defeated Maschenny, but Haghiperione was still a few steps above her. None of his friends or lovers aside from Hana or Enne could possibly take on Haghiperione, except for Master Jinsung.

Surprisingly enough, Albeda volunteered. The girl had worked mostly by herself, and she had quickly reached the Top 50 Rankings, but Bam doubted that she could fight Haghiperione. Albeda merely stated she had a power she could use to avoid history where White lost to Haghiperione. When Bam consulted Enryu, his uncle gave his specific permission, stating Albeda was indeed the right fit.

Before they left, Albeda questioned if Bam thought he would be able to defeat Hon as a swordsman, and Bam didn't hesitate to admit he knew he wouldn't win as a swordsman, but he did have faith he could win an an overall warrior. He knew Arie Hon was the second strongest master of bladed combat in the Tower for a reason, under only Jahad himself, but Bam assured Albeda he was confident he could do this, so he was more worried about Albeda's chances.

Albeda merely giggled as she assured Bam she would live on, before asking if Bam considered her a good friend. Bam assured her that he did, as she helped him survive the first fight with White, then helped in him absorbing White's power, and even trained him more than Vicente. Bam asked if Albeda would become the next Arie Family Head, but Albeda shook her head, revealing it wouldn't be her that became the next Arie Family Head, but Vicente, as she realized she wanted something else for her life.

Albeda then turned towards Bam, asking if, once everything was over, in the world he would make, would there be a need for warriors, and Bam solemnly admitted he had learned over the course of the war that the Tower would ALWAYS need men who are willing to fight to protect it's stability. Albeda stated that she would consider herself as one of those men under his command, then, wondering if she could be one of his leaders.

Bam stated that would be up to her performance, but considering that she was one of the most powerful warriors on the UFH's side, it was quite likely she would count among them. Albeda, however, admitted that it was less that she was interested in being a commander of an army as much as she wanted to be there for him.

Albeda asked if he would be open to including more women, and that made Bam a bit surprised as he admitted he would accept women who had made it clear they had a good heart, had spent a long time with him, and had proven themselves compatible with him. In response, Albeda then quite boldly straight-up kissed him in the forehead, causing Bam to realize exactly what she was talking about. Albeda asked if he would be open to having a relationship with her after this, and Bam, seeing she needed motivation, decided to agree, but made her promise she would survive and be intact by the end of it, which she excitedly agreed to.

And so the two of them rushed forward into the Arie Family Mothership, with Hon already standing in the entrance of the Arie Family Mothership as he courteously greeted Bam, but there was a similar maniacal desire to fight in Arie Hon than what he saw in Khun Edahn, and Bam supposed it was to be expected with how they were said to be good friends.

Hon then turned towards Albeda and commented with a hum that she was an unexpected, but decent, surprise, stating she sure proved she could gain the strength of a war demon without succumbing, acknowledging she had proven to be a true Arie. This made Albeda narrow her eyes, but she said nothing as Bam asked Hon about the terms of their duel and Albeda with Haghiperione's.

Hon stated that the rules were simple: For Bam, he just had to prove himself stronger by defeating and killing Hon in an honorable duel to the death, while Albeda would fight Haghiperione similarly to the death. If Bam won, then he would be free to choose who should become the next Head of the Arie Family, as Hon was true to his word. He also stated that Bam would like to hear what he got to say on Bam's chances against Jahad, and Bam merely nodded in curt approval.

With the details done, without any further delays, Hon called out to the 100th Floor Administrator, who stated if Bam won, he would be automatically bestowed by the Immortality Contract that he had given, as that would be proof that he was the man suited to be the King of the Tower. Bam couldn't even protest before he was spirited away into another dimension.

Meanwhile, Albeda was teleported to a huge ring-like forest where Haghiperione was waiting with her cold eyes and her Red October. Albeda didn't bother to make any comments as she calmly made her way towards the center, and Haghiperione also had nothing to say to her. They both just held their swords and got ready to fight.

Bam and Hon was inside a replica of the 100th Floor as the two got ready to fight. Bam still wondered why the 100th Floor Administrator would automatically grant him the Immortality Contract, and Hon merely stated that it meant Bam was worthy. He and the other Great Warriors had been granted that same Contract because they proved they had the right to it, and what better way to prove his worth by killing one of the most powerful of the people entrusted by the Administrators to be gods?

Bam narrowed his eyes at the "godly attitude" of the 10 Great Warriors, but at least Hon was one of the nicest leaving aside the ones who joined his side and excluding Gustang. He asked Hon about Jahad, seeing as the Arie Family Head knew more than most Family Heads would about the King, and Hon stated that Bam's gaze reminded him of the man Jahad used to be until everything happened. He mused about Bam's dreams being similar to Jahad, that where they both wanted a world where everyone could be happy.

He also commented, though, that perhaps the fact Jahad waited until Bam would stand a real chance against him was proof that the noble, daring warrior Hon looked up to was still there. Hon stated that he believed Jahad was granting Bam a chance to have a fair fight with him, when he could have easily killed him all those years ago.

Bam couldn't really deny that. Jahad never seemed to really focus on him, instead choosing on fighting the war. Both times they met, Jahad could have killed him with Bam not being strong enough, yet he didn't. He allowed him to live and even told him to get stronger, to be better. Bam wondered exactly what it was that Jahad planned for him, but he didn't have time to think that as the fight began in earnest.

Hon quickly drew his sword and launched dozens of incredibly powerful slashes from all directions with a technique Bam understood quickly as Battojutsu as Hon casually created sheaths made of pure shinsu and used it to draw his blade. Bam didn't waste any time as he quickly created a Shinwonryu Orb and protected himself using Shinwonryu Orb's Defense Mode while drawing his sword and spear. As soon as he vanished the Orb, Bam blocked Hon's attack with his sword while he also manifested the Aias of Sight Tperie had gifted him as proof of his acknowledgment over Bam's victory.

Not only focusing on dual-wielding a sword and a spear, Enryu also had him develop his shield-fighting skills and combine it with his swordsmanship, stating Bam would need to shift between alternative fighting styles when the time came for him to fight Jahad, especially as Jahad had experienced some of Enryu's spear work, so he could potentially adjust to it. Bam managed to master a shield fairly easily, becoming proficient in countless ways of fighting both offensively and defensively with it as he developed various bashing, spinning, slamming, and other forms of fighting with a shield.

Enryu estimated that this was out of Bam's desire to pay homage to Rak, and Bam approved of that belief. He supposed now was the time to bring to bear his combination of a sword and a shield, and this caused Arie Hon to make a sarcastic comment about how Bam definitely looked more like the "typical fairy tale knight". Bam simply agreed with Hon, stating he was a knight who fought for the people who deserved to be happy. Unlike with Edahn, though, as proof of the Arie Family Head holding the unquestionable spot of being the second strongest Fisherman, his dual-wielding could only fight him to a stalemate.

Hon was obviously a better swordsman than him, and while Bam shifted through various schools of swordsmanship to alternate and counter Hon's fighting style, he soon found out Hon was even more flexible in doing it than him as he skillfully countered numerous of Bam's combined techniques with his own combinations and landed more on him. Bam had did his best to work through the Arie, Ari, Ha, and Grace styles of bladework that he could, but while he could defeat Han as a swordsman, Hon was on an entirely different level.

If Han focused more on skillful defense and quick disarming techniques while appearing as relaxed as possible, then Hon's style was several times more aggressive and formidable. He emphasized on greatly focused offense, unleashing fierce, rapid strikes, but was also quite adept at defending and immediately offering counters. He fought with well-controlled relentlessness, and was much more capable at switching from offense and defense on the fly, with the only catch being his slightly weaker defensive skills, which didn't really matter with how far Hon exceeded Han in all other aspects.

Bam was better off using his shield, as he managed to efficiently parry Hon's attacks and even land quite a few strikes using the shield's sweet spots, but soon Hon adapted and was able to match Bam blow-to-blow, countering much of Bam's shield techniques and remaining well-suited to pushing back against Bam's swordsmanship.

Needless to say, Bam had only disarmed Hon through a stealthy, daring attack that slammed his elbow into Hon's jaw, bruising it, before he then body-pushed him to a nearby wall, ripping Hon's sword from his arm, but Hon simply disarmed him back in return, engaging in a brief but fierce hand-to-hand fight that Bam was only able to equal Hon in.

Hon's hand-to-hand combat prowess were very nearly equal to that of Lady Yurin's own, a step above Edahn's, and he skillfully parried much of Bam's strikes while landing a few of his own, their physical abilities being well-matched without using Reinforcement, even managing to reverse a grapple from Bam and throw him back, allowing them both to regain their weapons.

It was quite a step above his previous fight with Edahn, alright. If Edahn preferred to play with his opponents first, as he "warmed up" against Bam, Hon took things seriously from the start, their ways of expressing their pride in their fighting skills differing in that Edahn wanted to show off while Hon enjoyed what he could of the fight and had no thoughts of prolonging the fight.

It had only been 40 minutes into their fight, but Hon had already unleashed his true power, that of the capability to manipulate the very essence of "cutting", a white halo on his back as his entire body glowed pure white, a dazzling white sword appearing on his right side, and Hon drew the White Oar while also manifesting his Arms Inventory, as he challenged Bam to give his all. Bam didn't try anything else, but that, as he immediately activated his own true power and drew his Arms Inventory.

Needless to say, Bam was forced to switch between numerous fighting styles in order to match Hon, while taking and healing a few injuries, in close-range combat as Hon continued to pressure him with superior martial skill. Now Bam realized why despite his collection of artifacts, Edahn still wasn't ranked the same as Hon. While Edahn had his cunning and tricky personality, Hon doubtlessly surpassed Edahn in terms of pure skill and was both a technician and a performer in the field of battle, whereas Edahn leaned more towards being a performer.

Hon wielded two swords with masterful skill as he managed to bypass Bam's shield numerous times with various highly intricate, even unorthodox, sword techniques, taking full advantage of the fact he now had equal amount of weapons to Bam by using one sword to hold Bam's shield at bay while the other was used with enough skill to exploit Bam's inferiority in terms of pure sword skill and land various injuries, switching from a focused-aggressive style to an even more effective mixture of precise fencing and controlled fierceness as he wore Bam's defenses down with precision and pierced through him with ferocity.

If Bam hadn't followed Enryu, stringent demand that he learn to dual-wield other weapons than a sword, a spear and a shield, he would have surely lost, and as it was, he was only just able to reach a draw with his determination as he kept switching from various combinations: Bam made use of Mirchea's Black Hook, entrusted to him by Mirchea's will, to keep enough distance from Hon using the Hook's wide attacks while he used his spear to launch more efficient mid-range attacks, primarily, but he also used other dual-wielding styles, as well, since Hon could quickly analyze Bam's fighting pattern, so he had to switch fast and efficiently through his arsenal.

Bam matched blades with Hon using dual-needles, taking advantage of a needle's piercing/thrusting attacks being more efficient than a sword's slashing and cutting techniques. Combined with his own skill, it proved fairly effective against Hon's dual-swords, scoring the most amount of hits and being more efficient when getting himself out of being pushed into the defensive. He also used a spear coupled with a shield, switching between various techniques and forms of offense and defense with all the spots of the two weapons to keep Hon on his toes for as long as he could.

Hon might focus solely on melee, but he was by no means incompetent in long-range either, as he proved to be a worthy challenge for Bam in that regard. Bam might be superior to Hon in terms of accuracy and shinsu manipulation, but Hon's "cutting" shinsu could even pierce through Bam's black shinsu if it wasn't focused, and Bam had to maintain his Black Orb constantly in order to efficiently repel Hon's attacks with his own.

Hon unleashed thousands of baangs which transformed into deep slashes that could cut the world itself and rained down thousands of white swords with the force and accuracy to shatter through the strongest of Light Bearers like paper, with Bam having to push himself into using equal amounts of baangs and swords to match it. Hon also didn't shy away from using proficient manipulations of the shinsu, such as dozens of slashing shinsu columns, massive city-scale explosions of cutting shinsu, and rapid-fire small blades of white shinsu. Hon's Shinwonryu was also a special notice: Hundreds of white baangs of dozens of piercing bullets and slicing waves of shinsu were strong enough to significantly injure him, forcing him to heal up.

In the end, Bam slowly but surely pushed Hon back, dealing slightly more injuries than Hon did to him. In this fight, what ultimately allowed Bam to win was his determination and willingness to take huge risks. It was a difficult fight, alright, but Bam won within 5 hours, slightly better than his fight with Edahn. His raw power was only slightly superior to Hon's, but Bam had long since learned other ways of winning than through sheer force.

He engaged Hon in a one last bout of dual-wielding, Bam wielding his sword and shield once more against Hon's dual swords, focusing on dealing as much damage to Hon as possible, and when Hon finally made to deliver a stab to the gut, Bam reinforced himself and managed to take the hit without having the sword deeply piercing him, before he disarmed Hon of the White Oar and stabbed him through the heart before he headbutted him again and again and finished him by worsening the stab wound to the heart with a massive burst of Shinwonryu.

Bam breathed deeply as Hon collapsed to the ground. Hon praised Bam for his performance, admitting he surely had the potential to reach the same height as Jahad as he was close but not quite at his peak, yet still demonstrated strength equal/slightly superior to Jahad back when they had finished the climb. However, before he died, Hon left a few last words that confused Bam.

Before Bam could process properly what had been spoken by his opponent, though, the 100th Floor Administrator appeared with the promised Immortality to him. Bam had rejected it, since all he needed was Eternal Life, not full-blown Immortality, but the Floor Administrator merely gave him a small grin and told him if he so wished, he could get rid of it at the end of his journey, considering who was watching over both him and Jahad.

Bam, weakened from the fight, couldn't even resist as the Floor Administrator did what it promised it would do.

As Bam fought Hon, Albeda and Haghiperione clashed in a way that repeated the same duel between her and White, only this time, the victor was the opposite.

Over the war, Albeda kept gathering more souls, but she also had a secret in that she actually retained fractions of the powers of the siblings that made up White, which she could call upon anytime to make her more powerful than ever. Albeda also worked on more of her skills, and she had earned a spot on the Top 50 Rankings, but her Ranking still fell short of Haghiperione's as she never showcased her true level of strength. Now, though, Albeda knew she couldn't hold back. Haghiperione was just too powerful.

And so Albeda unleashed all the power she had been accumulating over the years, taking on a more adult-like form rather than the teenager form she used to have, her eyes glowing white-red. She didn't really have any actual grudge against Haghiperione, and if anything, was grateful that she had sealed away White, allowing her to be born and then become the existence that she was now, but she knew Haghiperione had to die.

It was a fierce fight, alright. Both Albeda and Haghiperione were some of the greatest swordsman in the Tower, especially in the Arie Family, with it being debatable that the only one who surpassed them in the Arie Family was Hon himself, and thanks to Albeda having further improved her swordsmanship by actually including elements of other schools into the Arie style, she was now able to fight equally with and surprise Haghiperione on various occasions with unorthodox forms, gaining an edge several times in their fight.

Shinsu bend to the way with which they used their sword, Albeda's various manifestations of embodiments over death clashing with Haghiperione's own embodiments of warrior, voodoo kings fighting armored swordsman. Space itself was bent and used in their swordsmanship as all Arie could, attacks being thrown and repelled to another part of the space. Pillar-like swords clashed with enough force to level entire countries, and thousands of white swords collided with each other, causing permanent damage to the isolated part of the 100th Floor they fought in.

Of course, Haghiperione quickly adapted her techniques and began to turn the tides, still being a somewhat better swordsman, but Albeda merely responded by revealing her other arsenals, the accumulation of all her new abilities being what ultimately allowed her to secure victory.

Albeda cast various spells of deadly power, having learned them from various spell books left behind by Mirchea, spells that Haghiperione wasn't all prepared to handle as Albeda used enchantments that restricted shinsu, manipulated elements, and created copies. She might have been ready to face White's enchantments, but Albeda was NOT White. She also used new shinsu techniques such as flashes of light, Dansul techniques emitting sufficient pressure to restrict Haghiperione's movements, and Wonsul being used to create cutting circles of shinsu or even turning her body into a buzzsaw.

In the end, although Haghiperione was able to neutralize most of Albeda's newfound skills, forced to display numerous skills outside of Arie Swordsmanship and adapt to just counter her improved opponent, Albeda was ultimately the victor as she made use of the environment and thought a few steps ahead until she finally managed to blindside and mortally injure Haghiperione, winning through pure skill as they were evenly matched in terms of power.

With both Hon and Haghiperione dead, it was clear the Arie Family had no way to resist the UFH anymore. Besides, the Arie Family had kept Hon's policy of pledging loyalty to someone who had proven themselves. It didn't take long before the entire Arie Family knelt before Bam, accepting his judgement as the new course for the future.

Bam returned to the UFH, and 3 days later, Arie Vicente officially replaced Arie Hon as Head of the Arie Family, effectively meaning that Jahad had no more powerful allies left. The war should have been won, effectively, as no matter how powerful Jahad was, he couldn't fight all of the UFH simultaneously when it had warriors on the level of Urek, Yurin, Blossom, Enne, Hana, Baek Ryun, and Bam himself.

However, Hon's last words still rang in his mind. Death, Son of V, is only the beginning. You'll see soon enough.

What was he talking about? Did that mean Jahad still had an ace left up his sleeve? Bam was confident now that he could face Jahad, but Hon's words indicated it wasn't a one-on-one battle Bam had to be afraid of. Not only that, who was the being the 100th Floor Administrator claimed was watching him?

Hon has fallen. With this, all that remains are you, Adori, and Molic One, Jahad. The Son of Arlene is just one step away from finally starting the final engagement. You've picked up quite the collection, haven't you?

Yes. The souls of those who served me loyally, and even those who didn't serve me to the end, they will all play a role in this, the true Test of the 134th Floor. The final chapter of your story approaches, Phantaminum.

Heh, not final. The penultimate. This might be the final battle, but afterwards, there's still the rebuilding and the new developments lying ahead of whatever outcome awaits the Tower.

You seem to have seen it all, Phantaminum.

Not all of it. Wouldn't want to lose the suspense, but I think I'll have to admit. The Son of Arlene's charms are... Quite exemplary, even extending to those who have had their fair share of experience with men that they just happened to like enough to screw around with.

You mean- Those two?

Well, what can I say? Back then, even they were charmed by V, and I suppose history repeats, much more happily for them. The boy now has the Immortality Contract, so they'll know what to do, he he he....

And yep! I hope this chapter was satisfying enough for you! I can assure you, there is a REASON why I am holding back a few details, first with Aguero and now with Haghiperione only getting a few descriptions, and that reason will be revealed on the Battle of Endings. I sure hope Bam vs Hon was good enough, but we are nearing the end of the fighting scenes. The next chapter will be focused on romance and steamy content, and when the Battle of Endings is over, those two themes will be mostly all that remained of this fic, he he.

Chapter 14: Beginning of the Endgame

Alright, my dear readers! A change of plans must be made. The interlude chapter I promised on the second arc must be put after this chapter, for reasons you will find below.

It was 2 years after Bam defeated Hon that Jahad finally came for their final battle, in what was looking up to be a completely ordinary day. It was actually one of his break times that he could spend with his lovers, and he didn't know if he was grateful that Jahad came just as he was not training and simply living out his life, meaning he was at top shape, or if he was a bit miffed that Jahad chose such a time.

Anyway, he was suddenly teleported away from the path he was using to go to the garden, and ended up in the 134th Floor, where Jahad was already waiting for him. Bam immediately got on a fighting stance as Jahad calmly landed to the ground after briefly floating on it.

Jahad simply shook his head as he told Bam he should be more patient. Instead, Jahad manifested a table full of lunch dishes and told Bam to sit and eat with him before they would go at it. Bam knew Jahad couldn't possibly poison him, but he was wary as to why Jahad was doing this. Still, he agreed and they ate lunch together tersely, Bam in a bit of hurry and Jahad being mostly relaxed. Jahad surprisingly prepared good food that he even stated he cooked himself, and those food were all seafood and dishes that gave the impression of being on a strict warrior's diet.

As they ate, Jahad asked Bam how was it, rising up steadily until he was finally ready to fight Jahad once and for all. Bam merely responded by stating it was a life full of great journeys, one he shared with his friends and lovers, and that he had no intention of repeating Jahad's mistakes, but seeing as Jahad seemed to be unaffected by the comment, Bam decided to be earnest and ask Jahad what happened to him. If he had once been like Bam, and an adventurer who never wanted to be King, why did he became the man he was?

Jahad had looked at Bam oddly at that, before he gave a small, bitter, smile, stating in the end, once an adventure was no longer possible, what was the point of going on it and risking everyone's lives? Those were odd words, and Jahad then asked Bam if he felt himself responsible for the lives of those under him as a whole. This caused Bam to unhesitantly state he did, and he was fighting for a better world for the people who believed in him. He knew Jahad once held such feelings, so why change?

Jahad simply stated that he was, in a way, honoring the sacrifices of those who died for him, which made Bam incredulous as he coldly called Jahad out, reminding him that from what he learned of Hana, the people who had faith in him all died because they wanted him to rule with a benevolent hand and care for all the Tower, but the way he ruled went against all that.

That seemed to struck a few cords with Jahad, with how his eyes changed, but he didn't linger on it for too long as they both finished their lunch and Bam immediately fell back, ready for the final duel that would end all this. However, Jahad made no attempts to arm himself at all even as Bam took out his Arms Inventory, which made Bam narrow his eyes until Jahad suddenly raised a hand. Not an attack, though, but Jahad simply gestured at someone to come from behind.

As soon as Bam laid eyes on the man, he was suddenly overwhelmed with the undeniable truth that whoever he was, before his introduction, he was the one who must have been watching Bam from the start. The man radiated power on an entirely different level than any other person he had met, and not even Enryu or Jahad themselves possessed this kind of power, as though all the Tower was nothing before it, as though it was an existence beyond even gods.

The man was more than a head taller than Jahad and was surrounded by shadows as he eyed Bam with a small smirk on his face. Before Bam could say or do anything, the man introduced himself as Phantaminum, none other but the Top 1 Ranker of the Tower, as he admitted Bam truly had did his best, putting up such shows and writing the script for himself, breaking free of his mother's made paths.

Phantaminum then proceeded to describe himself as one of the Axis, AKA Gods of the Talse Uzer Universe, with the power to influence the world in a way that cannot be opposed by any other being in the world. He had came into this Tower because he was the Axis assigned to this particular world, and stated that he was there since Jahad became the King until Bam was finally here now. Phantaminum stated that he was here to finally put an end to the story and determine who "Lives Happily Ever After", and Bam and Jahad fighting alone being the sole thing that happened for the finale simply wasn't entertaining.

Without any further ado, Phantaminum summoned Enryu, Urek, Yurin, Gustang, Blossom, Hana, Baek Ryun, Enne, and all of his friends as well as lovers into the 134th Floor, some of them disgruntled, some of them steadily composed. Urek almost immediately demanded Phantaminum to tell him what was going on. Phantaminum simply stated that they were all there for the final act of the story of "Tower of God".

Enryu then asked if Phantaminum brought them here because he wanted them to finally end the war, surprisingly calm, and Phantaminum smirked as he asked Bam if he remembered what Hon told him about death being only the beginning.

Without any further ado, Phantaminum proceeded to effortlessly tear the false sky of the 134th Floor apart just by clenching his fists, and in an instant, everyone there were standing on a massive grey platform with 4 castles with a portal lying in the deeps to some kind of a desolated wasteland. Phantaminum had grinned and his next words shook the entire castle.

Welcome to the 135th Floor, the final Floor of the Tower. This is the final act, the Test of Endings, the clearance of the Tower.

Urek, uncharacteristically irritated, demanded to know exactly what kind of game Phantaminum was playing, and Phantaminum merely smirked as he stated that the rules are simple: They must defeat the spirits of those who have already died during the war, although not all of them were ghosts. To put it simply, these 4 castles would be the location of the final fight.

The center of the castles, a pitch-black and pure-gold themed castle, would be where Bam and Jahad would fight, with it being a 10-floor castle that can only be exited by the winner of the fight. The castle to the right of the center, themed with rainbows, was where the still alive Adori and Molic One, as well as the souls of those like the fallen Family Heads, must be defeated, and the castle to the left, with silver-gray themes, was where High Rankers and all kinds of Rankers awaited.

The fourth castle, on the other hand, was a castle reserved for Gustang, stating that the man deserved some rewards for being the one who helped make the story this interesting. He would be granted a library full of works Phantaminum was sure he would find interesting and certain technologies from the Outside, but he also must play the role of the medical expert. Anyone who cleared the stages of the castles would be send automatically to the castle for medical attention, and Gustang must treat them. Phantaminum also assigned Gustang the role of recording everything that happened, with Gustang giving Enryu an odd look for some reason.

Phantaminum did suggest an alternative to the Game, which was to have everyone who used to be dead on Jahad's side revived so they could engage the UFH in a one last battle, without excluding the Family Heads, and fight across all the Floors, sure to cause catastrophes across all the Floors that would take centuries to repair.

Without any further ado, Phantaminum then added the fact that not all the tests included fighting the dead, as he stated he was reasonable. Instead, certain players were allowed to choose tests that didn't have to be fighting for "weak ones", like Shibisu and Wangnan. The details of such Tests would be revealed on the Castles, but Phantaminum also made sure that they knew while each and every single one of them were given chances to participate in the Game, ultimately the "true winner" would be either Bam or Jahad. They would be able to see Phantaminum and fulfill the wishes they had for the future.

Phantaminum gave Bam and the others time to convene. None of them were against playing the Game of Endings, since the alternative would be to unleash many more casualties upon their side and devastate the Tower. Besides, as Urek put it "Guess it's time for one last bang that would end all those years of war! I'm all but ready! Bring it, Phantaminum! I'll win your games, you here!? We all will!" (Phantaminum merely smirked and encouraged Urek to do his best), as Aguero said it "A game to end things? Bring it", and as Yuri shouted "So it's like topple the castle? Count me good! Let's see the look on your face when we win, scumbag!"

And so Bam calmly turned around to face Jahad and Phantaminum.

Bring it. Let this be the story's end.

Notes:

I do hope this was a pleasant surprise! I had been planning this for quite some time, and then I got some inspiration from Yasratcha's Gakjadosaeng and a RPG Game's final moments, so here it is, the final battle's beginning! I do hope I can do it justice!

Now, while I finish that Interlude, which is taking surprisingly long given some certain "additions" and "intricate love scenes", I give you time until 19th November to deliver votes! Which side of the Game of Endings do you want to see first!?

Chapter 15: Interlude III: Prelude to the Finale (Accepting Immortality)

3 months passed since the Arie Family was taken over by the UFH, effectively ending the 10 Great Families allegiance to Jahad. Most of the people had chosen the UFH's side, while the Jahad Empire had grown surprisingly silent, no longer launching attacks and retreating all forces around the Tower. However, the higher-ups of the UFH knew Jahad had still one last card up his sleeve, and Hon had hinted that those who were dead might be revived. Bam himself had other problems.

He didn't ask for the Immortality Contract in the first place, and Bam didn't want to portray himself as some kind of a god-emperor like the way Jahad did. He was fine just having eternal life and defeating Jahad in battle, and he didn't even really want to be King until it was obviously the only way for his friends and himself to live happily.

He wanted to earn the respect of the people in a natural way, rather than just earning it through awe over his powers, and what he did over the years, he worked hard, trained himself to the bone. He had already won against the so-called immortal gods of the Tower as a "mortal", and yet, the 100th Floor Administrator just forced immortality upon him.

For fairness sake, Bam would have preferred to remain just an eternal-living powerful warrior and be there for his similarly eternal but mortal friends, but fate never really allowed him to make too much choices that was the best in his opinion, right? Bam had no idea, though, to be honest, just how exactly this could have benefitted him. If he was going to rule, he wanted to rule as someone who could respect and appreciate the views of those who trusted him to lead, not repeating the mistakes of the old by asking for true immortality.

All this caused Bam to start doubting himself, as he wanted to distinguish himself from Jahad, and Enryu even allowed him to spend some time ruminating on what he truly wanted. His lovers tried to assure him, but their assurances somehow felt a bit weak by the fact that he was now immortal and they weren't. He didn't want to lose them.

Gustang wasn't much of a help when Bam asked him about it, stating the Immortality Contract could allow Bam to defeat Jahad and then reign as an undefeated, flourishing King of the Tower, and Enryu for some reason chose to be cryptic at an awful time by stating he would know why he was granted Immortality and be given the choice to "make things right" at the end of the journey. Urek did his best to help him sort out his feelings, telling him to use that power responsibly, but Bam still had doubts of his choices.

Hana, on the other hand, was empathetic towards his situation, and tried her best to make him see that Immortality wasn't exactly a bad thing. She told him that she struggled to see people the same way she did due to the fact she could outlive them no matter what, but she still had faith that Bam would turn out better.

She even took him out to interact with people she called "mortals", and it was honestly helpful, but Bam still couldn't help but wonder, even as he found immortality didn't stop him from appreciating their loyalty and enjoying their gratitude of his performances of combat simulations and cooking, what would happen to him in the future once he defeated Jahad.

Albeda, as Bam had promised, became one of his girlfriends, and she also understood his struggles to an extent, as while she wasn't immortal, she knew Bam wanted to not lose sight of his heart and goals. She stated she understood because she still had memories of being just "Arie Albeda", rather than just an amalgamation of thousands of souls, and she knew Albeda once sought to become a great warrior without losing sight of the heart. She failed, but she was grateful for Bam giving her that second chance and tried to make him understand that he could still look back even if he was starting to slip.

Still, Bam had a bad feeling of some sorts...

While deep in thought over unexpected developments, Bam forgot what a certain immortal woman promised him, and a few days after his defeat of Hon, Bam was summoned to meet Yurin alongside Yuri in Yurin's private quarters on the Ha Family Mothership. Yuri stated her grandmother and her had talked a bit about Bam's issues with his Immortality Contract, and they decided that Bam needed "it". Whatever they were planning, Yuri didn't say, only giving a small smirk and stating he would like it.

Yuri looked surprisingly wizened up, and had grown nicer and even more mature than she already was after defeating Maschenny. He supposed avenging Evan and killing her main rival had changed her, and Bam was just happy that she didn't feel any real joy that she killed her, only feeling that it was just, thankful that his advice to take it as simply justice and not revenge got through her.

And so they arrived at Yurin's private quarters, and Bam had to admit for being one of the Top 3 Family Heads, her tastes for rooms were relatively simple. There were 3 rooms, one being a noteworthily normal office, another being a tailored exercise room, and the last one being a bedroom that had a king-sized bed but not nearly as much elaborate decorations depicting the symbols of the Ha Family as most Family Heads would.

Bam's well-honed senses detected Yurin when she was closing in, and Yurin smirked at Bam being able to react to her when she didn't make any sounds at all. Bam courteously greeted her, and asked what did she have in mind for him. Yurin simply stated she would like to have him spar with her for real, which shocked Bam as to why she would challenge him to a duel like that. Yuri only grinned and stated Bam would like what Yurin had in store once all this was over.

And so Yuri unveiled the device Repellista and Gustang had made together, which allowed simulated battlefields to be made, one for Bam and Enryu to spar in and another for Bam to practice his growth by refighting the Family Heads he already defeated. Yurin then asked if Bam remembered how many times they sparred before, and Bam stated they had sparred for 70 times over the years, and Yurin lamented they stopped since Enryu took over, but now that Bam was truly able to go up against her, she had been looking forward to this for quite some time, so Bam shouldn't disappoint her.

As soon as she said that, Yurin took the initiative, fighting in hand-to-hand, with Bam's skills in martial arts and physical prowess falling just a bit short of Yurin's own. He held his own pretty well, landing quite a few hits that actually made the infamously tough Ha Family Head bleed, blocking a decent amount of shots Yurin threw at him, and even breaking out/reversing some of Yurin's tougher grips, but it didn't take too long before he chose to fight her with weapons, instead.

He used dual-swords at Yurin's behest as Yurin used dual-needles, and he had to admit it somewhat surprised him that Yurin was just as proficient as he was with dual-needles. She always used just a single needle whenever they sparred, so he never thought she would be good with dual-weapons. While they were evenly matched this time in terms of skill, Yurin still had superior physical prowess, and her Reinforcement was also superior to Bam despite all the years training under Enryu.

He could weave off powerful hits with all the conditioning Enryu drilled into him, but Bam understood he would lose this when he could reliably win it if it kept going like this, Yurin's proficient techniques containing enough strength to push him back bit by bit and forcing him to use greater strength, making it inefficient for him to maintain his stamina.

Surprisingly, Yurin requested to have him use a Hook as well, stating she wanted him to throw all the melee skill he had on her, and she also used only a Hook. Bam fared surprisingly well, falling only a few bit short as he managed to tag and throw her to a nearby wall three times, while also stabbing her 2 times, but Yurin was also very capable with the Hook and overwhelmed him eventually as she landed 7 hits over his 5.

Next was Bam fighting with both a Spear and a bow, a rather odd combination, but still something Yurin requested, telling Bam he still had to think more unorthodox if he was going to win against Jahad. She used just a single needle against him, and Bam found himself just able to keep up, thanks to Enryu having particularly worked on his spear and bow fighting skills.

Who would have thought Enryu was also just as proficient with a bow as he was with a spear, but it sure helped Bam as he used the bow mainly to intercept Yurin's attacks or deliver some minimum-impact blunt hits that just dazed Yurin up, while his spear did most of the work as he managed to launch good enough of an offense to land quite a few hits.

She also had Bam fight her with a weapon while she was unarmed, and she really put up quite the show as Bam wielded a single bow, a shield, and a single dagger against her. Bam supposed it helped him out, though, making him realize the importance of such seemingly unconventional skills that he reserved more for last-case.

Yurin managed to disarm Bam of his bow within 3 minutes after he had landed only 2 blows as he was focused on blocking her attacks due to the bow not being a particularly effective close-range weapon, he managed to bash her in the head and scratch her in the chest 4 times until she saw through his defensive measures and managed to rip the shield out of his grasp with a well-executed grappling technique that knocked him to the ground with Yurin using her legs to push aside the shield, while he and Yurin went back-and-forth as she disarmed him of his dagger and he did the same, the two of them slashing one another until Yurin took the lead with a decisive 7 to 4.

Yurin then calmly told Bam now he could really start fighting in long-range, stating she did this because she wanted to "soften him up", a statement that didn't strike rings with Bam, to be honest, but Bam knew he had to fight in his strongest suits.

So Bam stopped and began to fight in long-range with Wave Controller and Spear Bearer. He created thousands of pure shinsu spears, made of 9 of the 12 Shinsu Loops he could now manifest, each Loop able to unleash 500 baangs since Enryu helped him focus his uncanny ability to gather shinsu around him, and launched them at Yurin, controlling them with utmost finesse and launching them with great skill.

Of course, Yurin's skills were fitting of her position as one of the Top 3 as she used her own shinsu control to proficiently collide the spears Bam threw at her together and protected her entire body from the spears with a focused burst of defensive shinsu. She was also able to catch those spears with her hands, and with her toughness, his "Water Spears" could only lightly pierce her skin.

Still, the 10 hits his spears managed to land over 15 minutes covered the gap in injuries he took from their melee bout as he had already healed from some of them, and he supposed he did well with the control and accuracy over his Water Spears, a technique he developed with Enryu's help but didn't unveil when he fought Edahn because fighting all-out as a Spear Bearer against one of the two God of Spears was technical suicide.

However, when she had advanced enough, Bam was forced to stop fighting as a Spear Bearer, as Yurin unveiled her Shinwonryu in the form of a golden-red burst of her rose shinsu, the technical control over shinsu of the Ha Family making the Shinwonryu break down those spears beyond repair and even dissipating three of Bam's shinsu loops. He quickly used the rest of the Shinsu Loops and fused them into a singularly large one, creating a spherical defensive barrier of water shinsu with durability superior to even that of an Eyes of God at maximum output, managing to contain the massive blast of light Yurin unleashed on him and only be pushed back a bit.

Seeing that this was technically still a spar, but a far more serious one, Bam made the next move by focusing intense amounts of light and black shinsu and throwing it out in the form of several massive butterfly wings, some black and some bright, a massive improvement to the technique he used against Kallavan and one of his stronger long-ranged Piercing Techniques. Yurin, of course, blocked it, and the way she did it even surprised him as she stood and took the attack while her shinsu was exerted externally, flow-controlling the massive forceful vibrating shockwaves out of her body without causing any injury on her.

It was simply astonishing, her mastery over the delicate shinsu control required to manipulate and strengthen the body even surpassing Enryu's, and Bam was reminded again exactly why Yurin was said to be THE technician of shinsu control. Yurin grinned at Bam's awe-stricken silence, as she said that meant she still had some things left to teach him.

Of course, the spar still continued, and Bam proceeded to unleash thousands of his "Moonlight Needles", glowing bright shinsu needles that Yurin destroyed with astonishingly precise manipulation of Flow Control and Reverse Flow Control to unleash waves of shinsu that stopped his needles and either exploded them or turned some of them against him.

As Bam dissipated those needles and returned the shinsu that composed them to his body, Yurin manipulated various pieces of concrete and set them on fire, launching hundreds of burning rock falls at him, Yurin-Style Shinsu Control: Blazing Earth. Bam immediately used Wide-Range Shinsu Control Skill: Streams of Atlantis, the massive swirling current destroying all the burning rock as it marched towards Yurin, only for Yurin to calmly use her fire shinsu.

While she might be more on the earth side of shinsu, her secondary Quality was that of Fire, due to her fiery personality, and while it might not be comparable to Hana's fire, it was still definitively stronger than Gustang's. Yurin unleashed a huge blast of fire shinsu that tore through his weakened current, as Bam split the blast and threw it back at Yurin, who easily dodged it.

Yurin proceeded to throw a particularly huge baang of fiery rock that Bam countered using thousands of pure water baangs. Yurin next finally unveiled her own shinsu needles, massive red ones infused with fire and earth all over it, hundreds of which she threw at Bam, who immediately summoned his own needles, thousands of collisions occuring.

Bam was obviously the better Spear Bearer as he launched his weapons with more precision, but Yurin was more than fast enough to skillfully dodge most of Bam's needles that came close to hitting her while still having enough accuracy and shinsu control to launch her needles precisely, her alluring nimbleness as she used even the slightest of body shifts to avoid Bam's attacks.

Eventually, Yurin focused intense amounts of shinsu on her fist before punching it at the air, unleashing massive explosions more than a hundred times stronger than Kallavan's Atomic Explosion, even forcing Bam back despite him blocking it with his Orb - Defensive Mode and tearing a few of his shirt. Bam responded by creating several black A and B shapes using his true quality and throwing them, managing to return the favor and push Yurin back a bit.

Bam proceeded to manifest his lighthouses as he unleashed the Magnus Core's strongest offense, Magnus Core - Rosario City, creating massive black-blue rosario-like crosses and throwing them at Yurin. Yurin pierced through most of them, of course, and the crosses that did explode on her did hardly any damage, but that was enough of a diversion. When she marched towards him, Bam kept had prepared one of his Magnus Core techniques, Magnus Core - Cage of Helplessness, to stop her, trapping her inside a sturdy prison of golden-bluish shinsu erected by thousands of lighthouses.

That wouldn't stop her for long, so Bam created 7 Shinsu Black-Hole Sphere Orbs and hit her point-blank just as she broke out within 30 seconds of being held inside with massive rays of light that managed to send her back with dozens of piercing burn wounds.

Yurin, however, raised her palm forward, and a projection of reddish dragon-tiger fusion managed to pierce Bam's arm quite cleanly, causing Bam to stumble back and immediately use shinsu to repair his right arm, but that was enough for Yurin to close in and Bam just managed to partially avoid her Piercing Technique, Yurin-Style Piercing Technique: Dragon God's Wrath.

The powerful shinsu attack unleashed a massive projection of a majestic red dragon breathing fire, several times bigger than both the projections of the tiger and the dragon manifested by Jinsung's Dragon Tiger Gate, and despite avoiding what could have been a devastating hit, parts of Bam's chest was still struck by the attack, leaving him with a somewhat nasty scar.

Still, Bam managed to recover his balance and manifested two rapid-firing shinsu guns from which he unleashed several light-speed shinsu bullets that Yurin had little trouble avoiding, even managing to throw dozens of the thousands of bullets Bam fired at her back. It was fortunate Bam's marksmanship was good enough to hit back those bullets, and he increased the rate of fire so he could buy some more time.

After a minute, Yurin finally made it close, but Bam had planned for this. He immediately placed both hands on Yurin's chest and activated his second strongest variant of the Dragon Tiger Gate skill Jinsung taught him, Twenty-Fifth Bam Style Transcendental Skill: Ultimate Floral Butterfly Piercing Technique - Moon and Comet Dragon, the projection of a moon and a comet appearing as a massive white dragon pierced through even Yurin's enormously tough body and threw her back to the ground.

Bam had been a bit alarmed, fearing he had accidentally almost killed Lady Yurin, but then Yurin just laughed as she spat out a few blood and shinsu began to steadily close up those wounds. She told Bam that was it, that she had seen enough. She told Bam he had beaten her, anyway, and she had enough fun too. Yurin had given Bam a thumbs-up, thanking him for the first real fight she had been able to truly enjoy over centuries.

He had no idea what was waiting for him, though, as he was given a room to recover before being asked to meet Yurin on her bedroom as soon as they were returned to the real world.

An hour later, and Bam sat beside Yurin in her bed as Yurin reminded Bam that he got this far, all the way until he could take down Hon, because he cared for the people of the Tower and wanted the best for them. In comparison, Yurin stated the Great Warriors were more focused on clearing the whole Tower and only realized they had grown too attached to it to leave for them to process it healthily.

Bam could see the logic in it, since he had read his mother's journal and knew all about how her mother always spoke about how much the Tower fascinated her, but then she went too far by so suddenly declaring war on Jahad. Not all of it was Jahad's faults, as his parents too had their own faults. In the end, the Great Warriors did want what was the best for the Tower, just twisted by all they had been through.

Yurin declared that it wasn't the Immortality Contract that made her and the other Great Warriors like that, but rather, their own choices. Yurin then firmly declared to Bam that he didn't need to waver just because he was granted the Immortality Contract and looked like he had made some of their old mistakes, stating Bam avoided most of it, and she had faith Bam would be able to bring about a better world for all.

Bam supposed he could see it now, and he thanked Yurin, feeling like he could finally resolve all the doubts he still had, but Yurin stated that wasn't all there was. Yurin then coyly smirked as she used her shinsu speed to get close to him in an instant, reminding him if he forgot what she promised him if he could defeat Hon. Bam obviously still remembered, but he stated he thought she was just jokingly hitting on him.

However, he was swiftly silenced when Yurin cupped his cheek and kissed him, causing his brain to temporarily stop as he realized Yurin really did mean what she said when she promised to give him a chance with her if he won against both Edahn and Hon. Bam's eyes also noticed Yuri merely smirking, and he realized at that moment that this was what Yuri and Yurin had been planning all along. As Yurin gently stopped kissing him, Yuri then stepped in and her words made Bam stunned as he realized just how much grandmother and granddaughter had planned things through.

Apparently, Yurin had always liked him for having a more handsome body than his father and an even stronger spirit and a more noble heart while retaining a firm capability of reason and compartmentalizing, but she had only really grew interested in him when Bam proved himself able to even win over the heart of Hana. Hana didn't have any qualms accepting Bam's decision, but she and Yurin could go from being friendly to trading a few banter with each other, such as Yurin teasing Hana for still being a bit amateurish compared to how she handled Bam, causing Hana to fire back by asking Bam who was more beautiful between the two and enjoying it when Bam admitted that it was Hana's.

It would seem that his love life could still go through changes... Oh well, not that Bam minded. What Bam cared about now was defeating Jahad and finally putting an end to all this. He might not be able to get out of the Immortality Contract, but he won't let it change him like it did most others.
