"Alex, why don't you answer this problem and explain it to the class?" The teacher glanced softly at Alex while asking him.
"Sure, sir," he said and came to the front.
Alexander John, a complete academic model—he wasn't bad in sports either. Simply put, a model student. But what truly defined him was Ken Danish—his rival… maybe not. They were super close friends, the perfect duo. For them, it wasn't about competing. If Alex scored full marks, you could bet Ken did too. Together, they were the so-called model students of Saturn High School.
While Alex was explaining, Ken was busy complaining to the homeroom teacher about how bad yesterday's food was.
"You should concentrate, Ken," the teacher said annoyingly.
"I know this. I was the one who explained it the other day.
" The teacher sighed. "Okay then, why do you guys even need me?"
"Well, 'cause you're an angel," Ken replied like one, making the teacher fall silent.
After class
Ken: "Woah, Mister Alexander John… what a class! You could be a teacher for sure."
Alex: "Well, I am going to be," he replied, sitting under the tree shade near Ken.
"You know, I think a lot," Alex said with a straight, serious face.
"About what?" Ken asked curiously.
"About your breakup with Sam," Alex said, laughing. "Her choice failed for the first time in her life." He playfully hit Ken's shoulder.
"You're so annoying! It happened like a month ago and you're still bringing it up. Hate you, man," Ken said, standing up.
"Well, that means it still hurts to break up with her, right?" Alex teased, trying to hold back his laugh.
"Man, enough. Don't say that again. It still hurts," Ken said, staying still as if about to leave.
Alex stopped laughing and suddenly stood up. "Bro… I thought you were still— I'm sorry."
"Well, now you know. Don't bring it up again." Ken sighed.
"Wanna go to the canteen together? Maybe I can buy you some food to make it up to you," Alex tried to play it cool.
"Maybe," Ken said, walking toward the canteen.
Alex ran behind him, slung an arm over Ken's shoulder, and the two walked off together.
