Isabella Monteiro never imagined that getting a job could be so desperate.
The office was packed with applicants, each more confident than the last. She clutched her folder to her chest, taking a deep breath.
"This is it... I can't make a mistake."
When her turn came, the interviewer looked her up and down with disdain.
"Your resume is interesting, but... are you sure you can handle the pressure?" he asked, his tone thick with judgment.
Isabella swallowed the lump in her throat.
"Yes, sir. I'm ready for any challenge."
Before she could continue, the office door opened with an elegant click.
Someone entered, tall, impeccably dressed, wearing a black suit that seemed molded to her skin. Each step exuded confidence.
"Who is she?" The firm voice echoed in the hallway, but there was no rudeness, only authority.
Alexander Carter's blue eyes fixed on her.
A chill ran down her spine. There was something about him that said: *Don't you dare deceive me*.
"Isabella Monteiro," she introduced herself firmly, trying not to tremble.
He studied her every gesture, every expression, and then, with a slight nod, said:
"Take her to the meeting room. I want to talk to her personally about the position."
The rest of the candidates stared at her with envy and disbelief.
She had passed the first round. And she had no idea that this meeting would change her life.
As she walked down the hallway toward the meeting room, Isabella felt something different.
A chill, a mixture of fear and excitement.
Little did she know that, outside that company, someone was watching, in the shadows, ready to complicate everything.
Someone like Dante Navarro, whose name was still unknown to her, but whose presence would bring danger and desire in equal measure.
And at that moment, between the chance of a new beginning and the risk of getting lost in a world she didn't yet know, Isabella Monteiro realized that her life would never be the same.
