Chapter 1 - COMPLEX

In one of the most high security government bases, a golden aura flowed through each step of the person who had decided to walk in. Every soldier in a radius bowed to the glistening figure as if they were a deity. Their strength was so overwhelming that they were feared throughout.

Until they finally reached the colossal door. It was finally time to do what they came here for.

With a slight touch, the door had started to glow, de-atomizing, revealing a room of people. They all stared at the glistening figure and knew something was wrong. Nobody of that power could suddenly enter their base. Not with how strong the government was.

"Who the hell are you meant to be..?" The man who seemed to be covered in bandages glanced, showing a look of disappointment. But hearing that, the figure's facial expression had changed savagely before any sense of anger vanished on their face. With each step, an aura of divinity lingered around their souls, leaving them all speechless. With a smile, he uttered the words. "I am your God." His eyes locked contact on each of the members, who had all seemed confused With his words. The same man from before looked at him, anger brewing before he suddenly ran directly at him, leaping into the air.

"YOU ARE NO GOD!" The man shouted before a barrier was formed between the two of them, causing a sharp collision to begin the battle. The rest of the team were all in a deep trance from the one who called themselves "God". His power was that of a deity themselves. Knowing this, the man quickly flipped back, looking around at his surroundings, leaping onto the wall before springing directly at the man, his face getting slammed by another barrier.

"You won't accept it, Ares, but you know that it's true. I AM YOUR GOD." The entity spoke once again, glancing over to the man while keeping his head stationery. There was nothing Ares could do in the situation; He'd just continue to be blocked by the amount of barriers…but then he realized…

"HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!" Ares shouted, attempting to barge through the barrier with countless failed attempts. At this point, he had decided to give up and listen to what this deity had meant. So he stepped back, putting his hands up with a smirk, "I give up. I'll listen to what you have to say…" He sighed, staring directly at the entity.

"I know EVERYTHING, ARES. I am Omni. I see everything. I rule everything. I overpower everything." His eyes bulged at the sight he witnessed, looking at one of the entranced members begin to twitch their fingers.

"But this…is beyond anything that I have seen." The deity said, completely ignoring Ares as he slowly walked over to the member that seemed to be unconsciously weakening the trance. His eyes glanced towards his face, his fingers getting closer, holding his chin.

"You…are my prophecy, my child. You are my son." He glanced directly into the Martyr's eyes, breaking the trance. All they could do was stare at each other. The man looked at the deity..and he smiled. Tears shed from his crystalline eyes. He couldn't barely even speak. His lips trembled in fear, his mouth widened in shock. He felt a touch. The Martyr had felt the light.

"Elias Graye. That is no name for my son. I shall grant you one of my own. Your new name is Elion. I am your salvation." The deity gazed upon his creation, slowly letting go of his grasp as Elion dropped to the ground, his eyes losing colour, his appearance shifting; his hair glistened a pure white, his dark brown eyes bleeding to an aggressive shade of red as wings flapped on his head. He bowed. All Ares could do was glare at this new transformation. If this deity had such power, there would be no reason not to oblige to each desire that he had. So with that, he stood still. The deity looked at the rest of them, staring at the trance that they were all in. With a snap, they had all returned back to normal, all falling unconscious.

"Ares. You shall come with me. Bring your friends. I am here to liberate the ones who have lost control of themselves. The Government are the ones who created you, yet they don't let you be free. TELL ME, ARES." His voice suddenly shifted to a more darker, serious tone, staring back with glowing golden eyes, "Do you think you're free? Or are you just following the design of fate?"

This question was a realization for Ares. It was like his entire life had been reduced; all of his suffering, all of his training, all for it to be controlled by a single system. How could he believe it? What was his purpose now? Fate. That's what got everybody into this place. Not luck. Not a choice. Fate. It unconsciously signed everybody up to ruin their lives, so he obliged.

"I'll join you, my deity. Free me from fate…My life is in your hands." Ares bowed, every piece of murderous intent fading from his body. For the first time since his tragic accident, he had obeyed somebody except for himself. There was finally somebody higher than him.

In a flash of light, a catastrophic explosion occurred, killing thousands of dazed soldiers. The report of the explosion had hit the headlines of the news, leaving other countries confused.

But now, the deity had decided to move to a remote area with the group. He had more plans with them that remained unspoken. He looked at Elion and Ares, his mind starting to glow. There were more ideas flowing through that brain of his. The infinite knowledge that he possessed continued to layer ideas, and he finally made the choice.

"In my future…I will be defeated…I won't allow that to happen." He gritted his teeth in anger, taking a deep breath before he started creating. An ominous swirl of umbrance; a curse.

With this, a smile formed on his face, "The girl, Seraphine. She shall suffer the Curse of Fate that I place onto her." But then, he noticed Ares was looking at him, so he shifted around swiftly.

"Deity. Please, let us know your name. I wish to connect with you on a personal level." Ares looked with his eyes closed, kneeling in complete submission. He was in true devotion to who seemed to be the one that freed him. This is who he was.

"You can call me whatever. You can call me the Orchestrator, Sovereign or…The Divine. The word rules in my favour. But just know that these are just titles, Ares. I HAVE NO NAME." He shouted, his aura flowing as Ares seemed unphased as to what he was just told.

"Yes, my liege." Ares nodded before standing up again. The Divine turned back around, looking at the orb, creating a portal and sending it through. Having the power of Omni, he had abilities beyond anything on Earth.

"Inferiority, Marion. The power of mimicry. The longing to be different than yourself, Marion, I feel it too. I will save you…"

"Guilt. Sylvia. The ability of necromancy. Suffering from your own traumas..only seeking empathy. I feel for you."

"Narcissism. Vincent. The ability of perfection. Seeking to be the greatest. I understand you."

"Imposter. Camille. The ability to camouflage. Fitting in with others. I wish."

"Superiority. Ares. The ability of dominance. Being stronger than everybody else. I relate."

"Martyr. Elion. The ability of salvation. Saving everybody is your desire. As my son."

WITH THESE ABILITIES, I SHALL SAVE EVERYBODY. I AM YOUR SAVIOR. WE ARE COMPLEX.

And that was it. The formation of the group known as "Complex", ruled by the Divine. But over the years, their goal had been set. They remained in the shadows for multiple years, leaving the government's test subjects forgotten in the files of history. In desperation, they had one last attempt. PROJECT FUMIKA.
