Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Guild's Newest Member

In the Fiore Kingdom, in the town of Magnolia, a small figure was cautiously avoiding the passing Mages near the entrance of the Fairy Tail Guild, trying to prevent any physical contact with them.

He was a boy who had found himself in this world, named Statiw Att, and he looked only about twelve or thirteen years old.

Of course, he wasn't lacking a special power of his own.

However, his unique magic wouldn't grant him abilities from other worlds. Its operation was simple: as long as he made physical contact with someone who possessed a type of magic, he could replicate and evolve a similar magic for himself.

This choice, however, was a one-time opportunity. Once he made contact with the first Mage and his power latched onto theirs, there would be no possibility of changing it later. It was precisely because of this that he carefully avoided physical contact with any unfamiliar Mage.

"Seriously, why is it like this? Natsu, Mira, or Erza, if not, Gray will do. Any one of them, just come out quickly!" Statiw felt his mind was utterly exhausted as he painstakingly avoided every Mage entering and exiting, standing behind a pillar at the entrance of the Fairy Tail Guild, looking at the chaotic and noisy interior.

Just as he relaxed his mind for a moment, a hand suddenly rested on his shoulder: "Who are you? Why have you been staying here? If you have something, you can come directly into the Guild and say it."

With a hand suddenly placed on his shoulder, Statiw's heart instantly sank. He mechanically turned his head and saw a young man wearing a hat, a white shirt, and a black vest, looking at him kindly.

"Excuse me, are you...?" Statiw's heart was bleeding at this moment, and he kept praying that this young man possessed some powerful magic, preferably a Lost Magic or ancient magic.

"Oh, I'm Laxus, a Mage from the Fairy Tail Guild." The kind young man said to Statiw with a gentle smile.

'Laxus? It's over.' Statiw knew this wasn't the powerful Lightning Dragon Slayer he'd heard rumors about; this was a different member. He was sure this Mage's magic was something like... Pict Magic. Magic that could make drawn objects move. This kind of magic didn't seem powerful at all.

Holding onto a sliver of hope, he summoned his unique power. After receiving the feedback, Statiw almost fainted on the spot. It was confirmed: Pict Magic.

"What's wrong? You still haven't answered my question. Are you looking for our Guild for something?" The young man at this time didn't know how much of a blow he had dealt Statiw and continued to kindly inquire about his purpose.

Knowing that his power had latched onto the seemingly harmless Pict Magic, Statiw suddenly felt weak all over and dejectedly replied: "I want to join the Guild. I wonder if I can."

"Oh, so you want to join our Guild. That's very simple, come with me." The Mage suddenly understood and immediately pulled Statiw's arm, dragging him into the Guild.

The Fairy Tail Guild was like a giant tavern. Besides a mission request board placed not far from the counter, everything else was no different from a lively pub.

At this moment, the Mage led Statiw directly to the very back of the Guild, to the extremely short Master Makarov, who was sitting on the counter and looked like a small child.

"What's wrong? Who is this kid?" Makarov, looking somewhat drunk, asked as he saw the two approaching him.

"Master, this little guy wants to join our Guild." Hearing Makarov's question, the Mage quickly replied.

"Oh?" Makarov widened his drunken eyes, scrutinized Statiw, and asked, "What's your name? What magic do you use?"

"Ah, my name is Statiw Att. I use Pict Magic," Statiw answered honestly, looking nervous.

"Oh, you also use Pict Magic!" the Mage exclaimed in surprise upon hearing Statiw's words and said to him with delight, "It's a rare magic! We should definitely exchange notes later."

"Eh? Really? But I've never learned to paint properly. I've only drawn some things on the ground," Statiw didn't expect him to say that and quickly explained his situation.

"Oh, so that's it. No wonder you kept hiding by the door and didn't dare to come in. Were you afraid the Guild wouldn't accept you?" The Mage interpreted Statiw's actions of staying by the door as fear of rejection, unsure whether to enter the Guild, and thus constantly hesitating at the entrance.

Hearing him mention joining the Guild, Statiw quickly turned his head and looked at Makarov nervously, knowing that if he were rejected this time, he would forever be out of luck with the Fairy Tail Guild.

Makarov saw Statiw's nervousness, as if he was afraid he wouldn't accept him, and immediately burst into laughter, saying, "Yes, absolutely no problem."

With that, he turned his head and shouted loudly, "Macao, come here and put our Guild's emblem on this kid."

Makarov could clearly feel the magic power emanating from Statiw's body; although relatively weak, he indeed possessed magic. His shout at this moment startled the other people in the Guild, and everyone turned to look at Makarov, the Mage, and Statiw, who was standing next to him.

Seeing everyone in the Guild looking over, while Macao went to get the Guild emblem, Makarov jumped down from the counter to Statiw's side and said to all the Mages in the Guild, "This child is named Statiw Att, and he uses Pict Magic. Let's all welcome him to our big family!"

"Oh!" Hearing Makarov's words, everyone immediately cheered, and the atmosphere of the Guild instantly reached its peak.

At this moment, Macao also came over with the Guild emblem and said, "Kid, where do you want to put the Guild's mark? What color?"

"On the back of my right hand, white. I want everyone to see it," Statiw immediately extended his right hand in front of Macao and said happily.

Seeing Statiw so happy, Macao chuckled and pressed the Guild emblem onto the back of Statiw's hand.

"Alright, kid, you're now a member of Fairy Tail. However, if you want to take on missions, you cannot take dangerous ones, and you must bring the mission to me to see. Only after I approve can you take the mission. Understand?" Seeing the Fairy Tail Guild emblem already imprinted on Statiw's hand, Makarov gave a final instruction.

"Yes, I understand," Statiw nodded in response to Makarov's final instruction, understanding that this was a form of protection from the Master for the younger members in the Guild.
