Willis Mansion, 9th Street, Gozen-Ugine. 12 00hrs. Hon. Berry Ted sank into his warm bath and exhaled. He had finally earned a day off after a case the other day. It wasn't easy being the Chief Justice of the Judiciary. From the angry accused, who was ready to shoot your gut open, to the woeful sentenced. It had only been a week in power. It was all tiresome but it did pay well. He closedhis eyes and relaxed and eventually fell asleep. The bathroom door creaked open. A woman dressed in a maid outfit strode towards the edge of the bathtub. She pulled out a blue pill from her apron pocket and dropped it in the water. She stepped back and hurried out quickly as the pilled sublimated. After a few minutes the door opened again and 4 men clad in black overalls were led in by the same woman. They lifted Ted out of the bath and lowered him on the floor. One man checked his pulse and signaled with a thumbs up.
Ugine Parliamentary Building, 11th Street, P.OBOX 798, Quinn. 12 00hrs. Hon. Onzeil Sam was escorted to his Land Rover by four bodyguards. Security wwas good indeed. He was glad he had chosen this post. He was just from chairing a meeting where they were passing the new laws by the Judiciary. He couldn't wait for a good afternoon nap at home. He boarded his vehicle and was wedged between two bodygaurds in the back seat as the other two in the front. He was uncomfortably put in place and had a bad feeling about this whole thing. "E-excuse me gentlemen...I'm feeling rather uncomfortable with the way we are packed...." He adjusted his spectacles as they slid off his nose. The suited man on his left gazed down at him with an acidic smile and growled, "You don't quite get the situation you're in Honourable." He lifted a gun form his suit pocket. Sam gasped."Good Lord!"
State House-Ugine, 10th Street, Wellham. 12 00hrs. HE Hon. Gunther B. Parker clipped his last paper into his file and let out an exhauster breath. There was so much paperwork to do even after just a week into power. He hadn't been able to rest well for the last days. Being in the Executive was quite the work. The weekend was approaching but he somehow doubted it was going to be any more peaceful. He massaged the side of his temple. There was a knock on his door. "Who is it?" He called out. "Your coffee sir." A voice replied. "I don't remember asking for ...." then again he thought that he need like a cup or two. "Come in." He spun his office chair and looked out the big window which was supposed to be a wall. He heared the trolley roll to a stop beside the table. As he turned to face it, his body jolted to an electric sensation and he slumped to the floor with a groan and his world went dark. The man dropped the teaser in the coffee jug and knelt down to the president's body which was completely limp.
While all this was happening, someone was facing his own problems that day.
Lushian cursed from behind the steering wheel. His day had been the worst so far. He was driving naked spare his boxers. The tinted windows were raised shut against the cold rushing wind. His chocolate skin was covered in goose bumps now. 'Where is it?...' he thought annoyed as one hand rummaged in the driver's compartment of his black Sedan. "If I don't get it, driving beyond the speed limit won't be the only thin I'm arrested for." He kept one hand on the steering while and made sure it was clear ahead before bending his head to locate the item. He got it. A car horn blared startling him and he jumped straight up in his seat. He was crossing lanes! He quickly adjusted back into his lane and exhaled. "Damn it!" He lowered his driver's window and stretched his body outside. The car behind him honked. The wind was pouring in his eyes making him squint as they released tears. The traffic noise blared in his ears and exhause smoke caught in his throat. He fighting to keep a steady hand on the wheel as he rose a bit farther out the window. He finally reached the top of his car and attached an off-brand police siren at the top of the roof. He fell back in the car seat and quickly raised the window. Lushian then flipped a switch on the dashboard then the siren blared to life.
In the distance acroos the road, a walkie talkie went off.
Atleast now people were leaving way for him and it was getting easier to weave through traffic. 'A few more blocks ahead.' The traffic light infront of him suddenly blazed red. He hit the brakes with so much forces that he could've swore that he cracked his knee. The car went to a halt with a forward lurch while the seatbelt bit into Lushian's bare skin. He winced in pain. He looked up at the traffic light and tapped on the screen of the car. Just then someone tapped on his window. He looked up and saw a blue berret. He slowly lowered the window and put on a wide stupid looking smile. "How may I help you officer?" H e kept tapping on the car screen until it returned a beep. "Yeah, I need you to step out of the car real quick," the officer said.
Lushian was sitting cross legged and and crossing his arms while rythmicly swaying his knee up and down. He closed his eyes and seemed to wait for something. Certainly thinking of something would ease the discomfort of sitting in a cold stone room behind bars with only a ventilator for a window. He could've swore he saw a skeleton in the corner of the room. Just then two shadows approached the cell. An offier stared down at Lushian like he was somekind of crazy street person...well looked the way at the moment. "You've got a visitor." He grumbled and unlocked the cell with his keys and stepped back revealing someone he was very glad to see. Hesketh was beaming with a smile of sunshine and flowers as they opened the bars. "My my Lord Burton, you seem to have found yourself in quite the tight situation." Hesketh was in his black and gold decorated suit and a top hat to top his outfit off. He seems like a nice person but to Lushian, he was like a lion. His blonde hair that was shoulder lenght and curled at the end was like a lion's mane and the scarred ear of his contributed to Lushian's oppinion. LEO . "Where were you! I alerted you like hours ago!" "2 minutes." "And I told you that this would happen." Hesketh focused on the road ahead of him. "I brought you clothes, they're in the roof compartment..." Lushian began pulling on the clothes. Hesketh continued, "I told you it wasn't a good idea remaining in the capital, after all." His smile was now a worried face. Lushian loooked out the window. "Why are you doing this anyway, it's not like I'm going to pay you even if I wanted to..." Hesketh looked at the driving mirror and saw Lushian. "I Hesketh Droggio, pledge to give my services to the House of Burton and I give my services to them till the end .....and....and shall give my very life.....uh....and... something along those lines, you remember? " Lushian replied with a hmph. "I made an oath to serve the Burton Household so it is what I'm doing. Don't get me wrong, I'm doing it for you but for the rightfu heir of the House which happens to be you." Lushian was grateful for Hesketh and his honesty and all his help. He was there for him on that day. When his father died, he had left an odd will saying that Lushian Burton was to inherit the Family fortune yet he was the younger child. And that was what brought them to this prediament. Hesketh pulled over in a parking lot. He got out and got the door for Lushian. Before him was an airport hotel. "A meal before the plane?" They made their way into the hotel and found a seat. A waiteress came over almost immediately to address them and handed them menus. Her shirt wasn't buttoned at the top. Lushian sunk is his chair and buried his nose in the menu to keep himself busy. 'Not yet.....soon,' he talled himself. She smiled at Lushian, "And what would you be having?" He motioned at a dish on the menu.
There was a TV at the top of a wall. It was on a News channel. Now Lushian has never been interested in news but he felt like atleast as he was doing nothing he would. The waitress returned with their orders and left. "DMS live!...this just in from the State House, there seems to be a confusion and they are not allowing annyone let alone an official in. As you know we came to report the swearing in process but it seems that the president, Berry Ted, is not answering.....yes... I see....." the reports eyes went wide "....uh that's not the only thing, the Chief Justice, Hon. Onzeil Samuel, was last seen entering his house at 1200hrs and it is now 14 57hrs and there still has been no further information from him yet he is supposed to be present for the swearing in......ah ...okay" the reporter's face went grim "this has also been the case with the Parliamentary Speaker, Hon. Gunther Parker, as he was leaving from a meeting." Lushian was now paying attention. Hadn't the election just been of recent? Why would the swearing in take this long, is it possible that something had dhappened to them? he looked at Hesketh who had now paused eating. "This information has been given to us by people who are calling themselves the PARADIGM. " At the mention of this name, Lushian's spoon fell from his hands before it could reach his mouth. He stared at the television as if it were an alien gadget just brought into the world. the reporter continued, "We all know that the Paradigm was a brotherhood that has disturbed our nation since some good centuries nack and once made a stand that shook our nation to her very knees but has been now known to be defunct up till now. It is claiming to have been responsible for the disappearences under the rule and order of their leader known as 'Lushian Burton'" Hesketh now stood up from his seat in an abrupt motion that it caused a screeching noise. The television displayed Lushian's picture in the corner of the screen. Hesketh hurried over to Lushian and placed his top hat on him covering his black hair and shadowing his face. "We must leave." They both got up and prepared to leave. Lushian was feeling dizzy now, what was this about. Kidnapping, he's the head. Northing made sense now. The waitres broke from the TV and hurried to them. 'Youre pay check sirs!" But they didn't seem to hear her as they strode to the door. The news reporter went on rumbling. "The person who has brought us this information is however the runner up in the President candidate posts, Lumber B. Claire." Lushian's legs froze but Hesketh urged him to move as he supported him out but even the surprise could be felt in Hesketh as his shoulders tensed. The waiter came up and touched Lushian's shoulder turning him so that his fae was reviels a bit. She paused. Hesketh withdrew her aside with his charming smile and slid a bundle of money in her hand. "If you'd exuse us, Ma'am." Then went and led Lushian out. The only thing that had atleast registered in his mind was one thing....."Brother?..."
