Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: DISAPPEARANCE

"Its been 8 days since I have died" I thought as I sighed. How come I came to this ending? I never thought I would have to take this path. My work, my hobbies...i never thought this would happen. I used to enjoy my life so much....then how did I reach here, at this position? I could still feel like it was yesterday when I was living my life peacefully until it changed completely. My home, my surrounding and everything close to me just vanished in a night, just because of a stupid yet meaningful decision. Just because the situation escalated so quickly that I didn't even have time to react and now I am stuck here.

Me, being the most smartest person on the world was quiet good time...but I never thought it would attract so much attention that i might have to fake my death just to escape from it! A wild idea, isn't it? People followed me everywhere, not ordinary people, of course! Scientists, police and people who write documentaries about legend people. They have always kept an eye on me like I am a rainbow coloured zebra in the field of zebra's. Some people even tried to break into my house just for it. I don't know why but I panicked as soon as I saw my window shattered in my home....and thus I came down to this outcome. Faking my death. To be honest, this plan worked better than I thought. People tend to give a lot of unwanted attention to unnecessary things, especially people who have insecurities or people with rarest talents. And me? I have neither of them. I looked at my phone once again as I listened through the news of me dying again and again before deciding to turn the phone off. Heading myself towards the kitchen as I began to make myself a cold coffee. I like Drinking it whenever I am bored or whenever I need to think through something. I also thought about this idea while making the coffee. My new kitchen isn't as good as the old ones. It has wooden flooring, lights which look like lamps from the 18th century. Kitchen counter wasn't made from marble like they made in the past days. Not only the kitchen, the living room was the same, also the upper room where I sleep and the basement where I study. Its the secret house no one knows...maybe because no one comes here. Who would say that this shabby old house is my research base.

The coffee was made as I went upstairs to sit near the window. The pungent smell of the house was still there as I drank the coffee. Bitter, but my body is used to it now. Finishing my coffee as I kept it on the table near me and took the papers I was researching on. The task I was doing was the most dangerous one I have ever done. Probably the most rarest ones. I would have never taken this task if I had the choice...but that old man was quiet good with his manipulation techniques, so much that I could do anything except to take it. Letting out a chuckle, a bitter one as I started my research. Mr.Marthur wanted me to work to find a space station near our moon. He suspects that a country is illegally placing a satellite but i am completely against helping him. Maybe..I could tell him too that i died. i thought while smirking only to be startled but the door opening with a creak.

" What can you tell me Mr. jade?" Mr. Marthur said as he stood i the doorway with his hands crossed.

" Nothing! Nothing! Oh! how good to see you Mr. Marthur. You don't know how much i missed you!' jade said as he was surprised yet scared.

Marthur chuckled. " you can fool no one jade." he said while taking a seat infront of him. Jade chuckled along as a smile formed on his lips. "what happened old man? you came here without any reason? " jade asked as he poured a glass of water for him. Taking the glass of water, Marthur replied. "why huh? can't a professor come to his students house?"

" You never visit, unless its something necessary for your research. so why now?" jade asked as Marthur placed his glass down before taking in a breath and speaking forward.

" you remember the project of researching of moon i gave you?..... about that, there's some changes i have made to it. You no longer will be working alone on it" he stated

" what do you mean? i don't understand you" Jade replied as his attention spiked at Marthur's words.

" what i mean is that you will be working with someone else." a silence after this.

" i dont mind working with people but you said its a secret mission" jade said.

" i know. But this person is from our agency and is completely trustable. so just cooperate good" marthur spoke as he noticed the expressions on Jade's face.

" and i am not here to take a no as an answer. " he continued. After a long pause Jade sighed out before nodding and accepting this news. A smile of victory was formed on Marthur's face as he stood up from the chair and began waling towards the door.

" Hey, professor! last question. Who's the person i am going to be working with?" Jade asked with the voice of curiosity.

" you know..... someone named Amanda Smith...." Marthur said with a chuckle as he looked how fast jades reaction changed.

" Nope! definitely Nope! i will die once again in reality but i will never work with her. She's a literal demon!. I cannot work with her. The last time we worked together, she made everything seem really hard. I am DEFINETELY not working with her! I will work with anyone except her!" jade said in a annoyed tone.

" And.. i don't care. Its final that both of you are going to finish this project... TOGETHER. " Marthur replied back at jades annoyance.

" But professor-" before jade could speak another word, professor bid a bye to him as he went away, leaving this annoyed somewhat helpless person on his own.

Letting out a groan as he thought about the professors decision. Amanda was a smart girl, the only girl who used to compete with him on a regular basis in the past times. Beautiful, charming and smart, she was all in one. The only problem was that Amanda and Jade were enemies from the very start. They were born to be enemies. The last time thy worked together, the whole project was turned into arguing sessions. Since then, they have been ignoring and avoiding eachother, To think that they would have to work together again made Jade a bit annoyed. He was sure that the professor was planning something up, but what was it, made Jade's brain puzzle even more. Nothing was worse for him than working with Amanda. Seeing the professors car go away as he mentally prepared himself for whatever that was about to happen. His brain was annoyed yet some part of his brain seemed curious maybe even excited. Shrugging of those feelings as he gulped down as went back to his work.
